We are a family of four, with to teenagers aged 13 and 16. We spend our own vacations hiking or visiting other cities. We love being in nature. The house we rent out is the one that we live in on a daily basis. You will find a pleasant, cozy, warm and clean house close to everything.
Helle purchased this House in 2006
Why Helle chose Amager Vest
Our area is very quiet, in spite of the fact that we are so close to the center of Copenhagen. It´s easy to get around.

Close to Metro and cute house great bakery nearby, had a great time
Quiet, fantastic base for copenhagen ironman
Great house full of character in quiet neighbourhood, short walk from metro - was ideal for our needs this weekend.
Cosy house in a quiet neighbourhood
We enjoyed our Easter break in this warm, cosy and immaculately clean house. It feels very homey also thanks to Helle who communicated with us in a very friendly and accommodating manner. It was a bit cold to sit in the garden but it must be great in summer. The metro stop is a few minute walk so if you want to relax after a busy day and have a good night sleep - it is a very nice place. We would definitely recommend it :-)
Thank you Dana. I am so glad that you had a great stay here and felt at home.
Clean, Tidy,and in a neighborhood
Our host was in California and we Califorians were in her home. It was immaculate and had everything we needed. A neighbor was on hand if needed. We were 4 stops from the airport by metro and 4-6 stops from the center of Copenhagen. We prefer to stay in neighborhoods where locals live, not in hotels with bus loads of tourists. This was a middle class neighborhood with lots of friendly people. A local pub was nearby with lots of waves as we walked by. We were able to wash and dry laundry at Helle's home. I think the only thing that should be stressed is the bedrooms are upstars in a loft like setting and steep ladder like steps have to be used to get up to the beds. We are in our late 60's and were fine with it. Helle emailed me whenever I had the slightest question. Everything went smoothly.
Loved it!! Our first Home Away house on our European vacation.
Loved the house and neighnorhood. Had everything we needed and Helle was so helpful with directions, ideas for restaurants, grocery stores, points of interest, etc. Good location outside of the 'downtown' area but we ended up getting bikes to go in and out of town. Very bike friendly city. Perfect for our family to get a 'real Copenhagen' experience.
Clean, comfortable and welcoming
Due to issues including airline strikes, we changed our plans twice and Helle was so accommodating through the whole process. After we arrived, Helle was so helpful in getting us settled in and even ordered pizza for us. The apartment is very clean and roomy. The kitchen is stocked with nice utensils as this is her primary residence. The sleeping accommodations are up some very steep stairs (almost a ladder) and the low ceiling above them forces you to bend down to walk into the first room. Here the thin mattress is on the floor with a sliding curtain for privacy. The next room is a daybed, and finally the master bedroom. To get downstairs and to the only bathroom, you have to walk thru all the rooms if you sleep in the Master bedroom.
This apartment is good for 2 adults and two or more children, but not quite comfortable for our group of 4 adults and 2 children.
Location is outside the city center, but it's a 10 minute walk to the Metro station and a short 10 minute ride, or a 5 minute walk to the bus station and then a 25+/- bus ride to city center.
Helle was very helpful throughout out stay by answering any questions we had. I would stay here again if it was just myself and my immediate family. Value for the money was reasonable.
The house is situated in a genuine Danish allotment association and our private permanent residence, which is rented out in conjunction with our own vacations. Very central with a short distance to the center of Copenhagen, Tivoli Gardens, Nyhavn, Amager Beach, the harbor bath Islands Brygge and nature Commons, which offers good swimming and marked hiking and biking trails.
