About Sabrina Christley

I've been an Alaska resident since early 2004. Living there is unique because you feel like you are living in the middle of a National Park. A trip to Alaska is a life changing experience.

Sabrina Christley purchased this house in 2004

Why Sabrina Christley chose Willow

This property is in a small town that is spread over 20 miles. There's lots of privacy, but plenty of activity if one wants to join in. The area is heavily wooded, yet it still offers one of the best views of Mt McKinley (Denali) in the state.

What makes this house unique

The beauty of the area is incomparable. It's like living in a spectacular National Park. The many attractions are too numerous to take in if you are only here for a week.

Fantastic way to visit Alaska

  • 5 of 5

This was my 2nd stay at the Willow house. Very convenient to have washer/dryer and full kitchen. Owner very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for us as it is fairly central to all the things we want to do. Within 1.5 hour drive of Talkeetna, Matanuska glacier, Anchorage. Fishing ang flightseeing in Talkeetna and Willow. ATV tours and golfing out of Wasilla. Whitewater rafting and glacier hikes at Matanuska. Alaska railroad out of Anchorage. Deep sea fishing and boat tours out of Homer and Seward. Can make a day trip to Danali. Great dog kennel right in Willow you should visit. For my money, much better to fly up and rent a place like this than to cruise. Would highly recommend. Great vacation!

Great summer house for visiting Denali, Talkeetna, fishing, Iditarod, Mat Su valley, Hatcher's Pass

  • 5 of 5

Excellent location for all activities central to many go to places!

We stayed 5 nights and the owner: Donna was very nice to deal with on the phone and via emails.

House was exactly as stated and was perfect for us. The ante room or mud room was a nice way to keep the dirt, snow, and bugs out of the house. The main room had ceiling fans that kept the house very comfortable even in the hot summer weather (80 degree all week).

Laundry facilities as well as Internet made the stay much nicer than I expected. Internet was only hardline (RJ45) which meant no wireless so keep that in mind when you bring your laptop and remember to bring your CAT6 patch cables.

Willow is a small community where there is a post office, deli, service station, hardware & grocery store as well as a community center.

We enjoyed using the house a base to visit:

Denali National Park

Dream a Dog Iditarod working farm

Musk Ox & Reindeer farms

Hatcher Pass & Independence Mine in Palmer

Kenai Peninsula - Russian river fishing

Willow streams, creeks, rivers and lakes for fishing

The famous Deshka landing for fishing

The cities of : Anchorage, Wasilla, Palmer, and Talkeetna.

We would return for another visit to the Anchorage / Mat-Su valley.

Willow cabin

We just completed our second stay at this rental. It has the best quality kitchen of any rental. It even comes with spices and condiments, plastic wrap and foil. All those things you need, but hate to buy for a spoonful. The front porch is delightful.

Outstanding vacation home in Willow

  • 5 of 5

This was a super place for a base for our trip to Alaska. We fished the local areas every day and took day trips. We enjoyed the many amenities the lovely house offers. We found it immaculate and very comfortable. The kitchen was great, although we just ate brekfast at 'home." We thoroughly enjoyed the local spots for dinner. Basic, well-prepared food with a local flavor. The fishing within an hour's drive was spectacular.

It is easy to reach from the main highway, and the owners have spent a lot of time in the yeard! The landscaping and flowers were gorgeous. The owner was just super in all aspects; in fact, we are renting another of their properties for our vacation this year. That's how impressed we were from start to finish, and we are picky!

I have recommended the Willow house to all of my colleagues, icluding my international pals. We saw so much wildlife around the house- had a moose and her calf in the backyard one morning! Lots of birds, too.

My family and I had a wonderful time. I highly recommend it, and cannot say enough good things about dealing with the owner!

Willow is the dog sledding capital of the world and we have world class sled dog farms with fabulous tours for visitors. Dream a Dream Sled Dog Farm is located in Willow. It's one of the best tours I've encountered.

Our scenery is breathtaking! Life in Alaska is like living in a National Park with all the views and wildlife that go with it.
