Located In Durango, near the Animus River and bike trails. Minutes from downtown. New with hardwood floors and industrial kitchen. Flat screen TV, wood burning fireplace
Had 8 people attend for 50th birthday celebration. House was quite big enough, plenty of room for everyone. Bedding was plentiful, no issues. Really enjoyed the hot tub and the grill. It was an excellent time and the house was perfect for the occasion. Master bedroom has a large shower/jacuzzi/bathroom area. It's not accessible to everyone without going through the bedroom. It would probably be best to decide who gets the master bedroom before arriving as there will be fights over it. The deck off the master is unfinished. This wasn't an issue for us, but it might be for some.
Regarding the location: it's good to understand that the house is on a corner. The driveway faces Junction St., but the front of the house faces Virginia Street. Also, the door nearest the driveway leads to the Studio, not the main house. Nearly every guest ended up in the studio when they arrived (it looks really nice too: so if you only have a couple of people traveling, the studio looks like a good bet). It might be worth adding a sign on the entry to the studio indicating that the main house entrance is only through the front of the house.
The location is not directly in "downtown" Durango. It is walkable, but it's kind of a long walk. It was really beautiful though, so no complaints.
Dan was great with communicating regarding our stay at the home. The home is beautiful and was able to accommodate our entire family as we stayed for our sons last football game at the college. We were able to accommodate the family and invite others over for dinner. I lost an earring at some point on the trip and the property manager was very kind to stay in contact and try to locate the earring for me.
We would definitely consider this home as others would as well when we return for our sons graduation.
Nice home, would definitely use it again. The only thing that was a negative was parking is very limited when you get past 2 cars. Everything else was great!
Our family loved this home. We were in Colorado for a wedding/family reunion and had 13 people and had plenty of room. The bedrooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the back yard and spa and grill. We enjoyed cooking in the well appointed kitchen and playing games at the large table. We never felt crowded. It was relaxing to sit on the second-floor deck, off the master bedroom, which overlooks the yard. Besides the warm quality of the house, we really appreciated being so close to town. Parking was no problem. In fact we had no problems at all. Check out the near-by Rec Center with the indoor water slide, wading area with toys for the kids and whirlpools, plus swimming lanes and gym equipment. Durango is a fun town with much to see, besides the beautiful mountains. We highly recommend this home. Our ages ranged from 72 down to 4 years old and everyone loved it. Thanks, Daniel and Heather. Great job!
A group of 8 stayed at this house for a bachelorette weekend, and it was a great house to stay in. There was plenty of room for us in both the bedrooms, living room, and dining room table. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots/pans/etc. There was a lack of paper towels and cleaning supplies - we ran out of paper towels after the first day. The hot tub was wonderful! Everything was kept up nicely and well maintained. One day there were even 7-8 deer right in the front yard! The only negative was the house description says there is a DVD player, which there was not. We had brought and planned to watch some movies so that was a little disappointing, but they do have On Demand and most of the movie channels so we were able to find some free ones to watch on the cable. It is about a 10 minute walk from the house to Main Street, but it is very far from the shops and restaurants and not realistically within walking distance. However, we just hopped on the trolley which has a pick up on Main Street which was very convenient! Overall, I would definitely recommend this house to others and would consider it if I was ever to stay in Durango again. We had a lovely trip!
We took a family trip to Durango for spring break. The choice of your home for our base was the best decision we could have made. We were close to all the amenities and the walking trail along the Animas river was very convenient. We were close to the Purgatory ski resort and our kids had a ball snow tubing. The house was in great shape and everything we needed for our stay was graciously provided. Thank you for the opportunity to stay at your lovely home. We had a wonderful time.
The house exceeded our expectations, is its a great place to spend vacations we where there for new years eve (2015) and definitely will go back, the only improvement we would suggest is to have some extra sheets and blankets for the sleepers sofas of bring some if you are using them, the living room gets more colder that the rest of the house but still the house is warm.
Another tip is that the hot tub gets warmer like 1 Fahrenheit each 20-30 mins so pre heat it with some time, everything else was perfect the main room bed is so conformable so are the other beds, everything is close to the house.
