Overview

About the property

House 4 Bedrooms , 2.5 Baths, ( sleeps up to 12)

See owner's website for last minute specials.

The incredible views from this lovely custom built, waterfront home will take your breath away. The house offers a secluded setting with a green belt on one side and a house set back from view on the other. No need for window coverings to block the view--it is totally private. If you prefer a dark room in which to sleep bring your sleep eye covers. We enjoy being awakened by a gorgeous sunrise. Sit in the solarium and watch the eagles fly right overhead or fish in the water below you.

Enjoy unobstructed views of Puget Sound, the Cascade mountains and Mt. Baker from virtually every room in the house. Watch the ever changing activity of cruise ships, sailboats, tankers or a nuclear submarine, from the large deck or our cozy solarium. The professionally landscaped yard is designed for privacy and easy maintenance and features a tranquil pond and natural woodland setting. Watch the deer and raccoons drink from the pond and wander through the yard any given day.

The fully equipped kitchen has a 5 burner Decor gas cooktop, double ovens and Subzero refrigerator, beautiful granite slab countertops, and a view that makes cooking a real pleasure. Or you can pull up a bar stool to the eating counter and grab a quick snack. Fine dining is minutes away if you aren't in the mood for cooking.

The living room has a stone wall with a gas fireplace. Snuggle up on the comfy sofas (one converts to queen size bed) in front of the fireplace and enjoy great conversation, a good book or a glass of wine. Or, simply admire the beauty of the view.

The master bedroom has a large walk-in closet, a king sized bed and 12' sliding glass doors that open to the deck. Lie in bed and enjoy the fireplace in the evening and watch the sun rise over the Cascade Mts, or the cruise ships heading back to port. Master bath has double sink with granite slab vanity, large spa like shower with double shower heads, and like almost everywhere in this home, incredible water and mt. view!

Bedroom 2 has queen sized bed and a garden view.

Bedroom 3 is very large with queen bed plus (and available, space for our queen, double high air bed available for those groups looking for a couple more sleeping spots). Glass doors open to the deck. Relax with a cup of coffee at the bistro table with four chairs and view the marvelous water and mountain views or enjoy the fireplace for added .enjoyment .

Bedroom 4 is in our loft bonus room along with our office. It has a queen bed as well as a full size convertible sofa bed. Spectacular views from the office.

The house is beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated to make your stay feel extra special and comfortable.

The soft breezes from the water below make grilling and dining, on the table for six comfortable, even on a hot day, a real treat.

Four fold-up lounging deck chairs are also provided. Try to spot the seals on the rocks below with the telescopes and binoculars provided or just marvel at the incredible view.

From Port Ludlow you can hop a ferry to Seattle and tour the waterfront and famous Pike Place Market or drive about an hour to Port Angeles and take the ferry to Victoria and spend the day in this charming city with a visit to the world famous Butchart Gardens. Also Whidbey Island, Hurricane Ridge, the rain forest, Poulsbo, Sequim and the lavendar festival and Port Gamble are great trips.

Historic Port Townsend is about 20 minutes away with antique shops, many talented artists offering their wares and lots of charming shops. Farmer's Markets are held every Saturday during the spring and summer. Visit Bremerton and tour the naval shipyards or the Undersea Naval Museum in Keyport.

There are many options if you are adventurous. Or, you may want to stay close by and hike the local trails. It is a short walk to the marina to look at the boats, rental a kayak, fishing boat, or charter a sail boat. If you want a bit more exercise, we provide two sets of golf clubs, two tennis rackets and 4 paddle ball rackets (bring your own balls).

Another option is to stop by the Inn at the Marina and have a glass of wine or dinner. There is a bar and a large covered porch overlooking the marina.

This lovely home is a perfect place for a romantic get-away, retreat, honeymoon or family gathering. Thinking about moving to the area? Short- or long-term rentals available. Just give us a call.

About Joan

I am a retired legal assistant and my husband is a retired real estate project manager.

Joan purchased this house in 2006

Why Joan chose Puget Sound

Our family owns a condo (which we now rent out) at the resort a short distance away so the area was familiar to us. A dear friend previously had thise custom home designed for her. We were thrilled when it came on the market and snatched it right up. Living in the Seattle area makes for a quick weekend get-away or a long-term vacation spot. We love it here!

What makes this house unique

The first time we walked into the house we were captivated by the incredible views. We have complete privacy and no need for curtains or blinds to block the view. Bald Eagles nest in trees close by the house so they are constantly flying overhead or fishing in the water below. Deer wander through the yard daily and there is abundant bird life.

Our Happy Place

  • 5 of 5

It's hard to find the words to describe our experience in this lovely home. The fabulous view, design of the home, the quality of the furnishings, linens, kitchen design and variety of dishes, appliances, fire places, deck and solarium!! All of these parts of Joan and Jay's home show taste and concern for their guests. We are so at home and comfortable here-- rain or shine!! This location offers so much to see and do -- even staying home and enjoying the view. We have rented here five times and plan to return--- it has become our happy place --- and Joan and Jay are so pleasant and easy to deal with. They truly care about their guests.

This is a wonderful place for a family trip.

  • 5 of 5

My family of 7 adults and 3 children had more than enough room for all of us. The deck and sun room are wonderful places to watch the sun come up. The owners were wonderful to work with.

Owner's Response: I am so happy that the house was such a good fit for your family. Our last guest had four deer in the yard and watched them drinking from the pond. I hope you saw some of our four-footed friends.

Beautiful view, comfortable setting, perfect for group

  • 4 of 5

Our group of 5 women had our 34th annual retreat and enjoyed our stay at this vacation property. It was very comfortable with lots of room to lounge, gather, talk, and spread out for privacy. it isn't a walking beach below, but the view is fabulous. Joan is great to work with, very professional and quick to respond and answer questions - made the transaction easy. Thank you!

Third stay in this beautiful home.

  • 5 of 5

What can I say ... great house, love the spacious feel in the living room and cozy gas fireplace which kept us toasty. Big kitchen for three of us to navigate in, nice grill and wow the view. We use this home for a spiritual retreat and really like the quiet. Owners are great to deal with too. We will be back.

Fantastic views and affordable rate

  • 5 of 5

We held a family reunion for 8 with 3 couples and ourselves. Everyone agrees this was the best family reunion we have ever had in large part because of this wonderful location. The sunroom, deck, & kitchen provides a 180 degree view of the Puget Sound looking North and East. Marvelous sunroom, excellent gas grill on the deck, clean in every respect and a detailed instructional folder on kitchen counter when questions arise. Full array of kitchen equipment. Two bedrooms look out on the Puget Sound so draw straws for these with your guests :-) We visited Fort Worden for kayaking and Port Townsend for shopping, just a 20 minute drive away. Joan and Jay were always very responsive to answer questions before our stay. We will certainly consider this for our next family reunion!
