You will feel right at home in this warm, yet airy and roomy beach home. Prime location, open floor-plan, and large furnished outdoor patio make for the perfect beach get-away. Only 4 houses from the boardwalk and just a 30 second walk to the ocean. No busy streets to cross, and no hills or stairs to climb—just drag your towel to the sand!
Our home sleeps 5 in beds, which includes a King in the master, and queen in the second bedroom with a twin bunk/loft. The large master suite has an attached full bathroom, his/hers built in “California Closets”, and high-end Indonesian hardwood furniture. The slightly smaller second bedroom has another full bath right next to it. See photos & “layout” section below.
Other Amenities include: washer/dryer, outdoor BBQ, Adorable playhouse for kids, outdoor shower, beach chairs & toys, the full kitchen is nicely appointed with a dishwasher & two sinks, there are fans, flat TV’s, DVD players in all rooms, central heating, basic cable TV, Wi-Fi, breakfast bar with two barstools, and drop-leaf dining table for 4 and a beautiful fireplace & hardwood floors. Two full baths with tubs, and newer ADA height TOTO toilets.

There are two patios. A large furnished front patio where guests spend most of their time, and a smaller back patio that leads to the car port. Both patios are enclosed, the front with lattice which feels open and private as well. The kitchen, dining room, and living room are all open concept, which lends itself to a “Great Room” feel.
Why choose us?
Family owned and operated, which means we care. Our home is south-facing. This is a huge bonus for sun in the months of October through April. North facing houses do not get a lot of patio sun. For example, you can be freezing in the shade on a north facing patio and right across the street be sun tanning in a bikini. It’s called, “the sunny side of the court”. I can’t over emphasize the value of sun from fall to spring. Also, central heating is a plus, with a cozy fireplace. We also keep incandescent bulbs in our lights instead of the harsh CFL bulbs.
Location. Some courts are better than others. For North Mission, our court is filled with well kept homes, has a lot of palm trees, and it’s long with 7 houses on our court. This is opposed to other courts that are rundown, have apartment buildings on the court, and are short (which means there might be 2-3 homes on the entire court). Finally, our home is NOT your 'run of the mill' vacation rental. It is a custom Spanish style warm-feeling home with great energy.
Lot size. We are on a 2400 sq ft lot. Many homes are on smaller 1200 sq ft lots. This allows us to have double the patio size, a more spacious open feeling interior layout, all on one level. The extra full bath, and our parking space is a little bigger than average as well.
Why not choose us?
If anyone in your group is looking for perfection or is picky. Our place is not perfect and neither is Mission beach. We try hard to please and replace items all the time (linens etc.). We also have excellent housekeeping and the photos are accurate. However, although nice, as you can see from the photos the kitchen and baths are not state of the art, and some of the windows are older and the front deck is a little rustic. In our opinion, this adds to the beach cottage charm & experience. We also try and incorporate this into the lower prices we offer—especially for what you get relative. Furthermore, like any house, there are always odds & ends that need attention, and we do fix things along the way, but at any given time there are always a few outstanding minor items. We DO NOT have AC, which is a welcome amenity at some points in late summer.
In the end, we are looking for warm, reasonable, easygoing down-to-earth guests that will appreciate the home and our efforts. Finally, our home is not suitable for "partiers" and illegal anything.

The home is close to Sea World, the World Famous San Diego Zoo, and San Diego's historic Old Town area. La Jolla (the Jewel) is just a few miles North with amazing shopping and restaurants/bars. A visit to our beach house will truly be a memorable one for you and your family.
