We are interior designer / architects, and we realized this beautiful suite in what once used to be a chapel built in the XVII century. The chapel is part of our property, a typical tuscan villa. Our family is a big family and we love to invite our guests for drinks at sunset or offer special dinners. We have mountain bikes to rent, basketball for kids to play, and a lot of suggestions to give to our guests to live Florence as we do. In your suite, however, you can have your total privacy, you can cook in your kitchenette, and rest outside for a drink.
We also have olive trees and fruits tree, if you want you can buy from us oil, homemade marmalade, eggs, salad...
This Romantic and prestigious suite designed with Tuscan style, in the most beautiful hill overlooking the historical center of Florence, is located in the famous and exclusive Borgo of Pian de' Giullari.
The suite is 30 square meters big and comes with a private bathroom and kitchenette. It is the annex of a Renaissance villa, unique in its genre, and has got the architectural features of an ancient chapel of the 17th century, with fragments of frescoes, a bathroom with shower in pietra serena, a fully equipped kitchen, a private courtyard with wisteria and an old, secular paulownia. A blend of comfort and charm ensures a romantic and unforgettable stay, ideal for couples who want to spend one or more nights in the silence but nearby the city center, with a garden and parking. Well served by public transport, ten minutes from the city center, ideal for scenic walks and jogging towards Piazzale Michelangelo and Poggio Imperiale. In the village of Pian de' Giullari are to be found the traditional restaurant Omero, the Arcetri Observatory and the residence of the famous Galileo Galilei.

Even better than how it’s described!
Francesca and her family are wonderful! We were greeted with a delicious cake and the property was just beautiful. The view from the room and the garden were breathtaking! The location was fantastic with a great restaurant just a few doors down. This was the perfect setting for our anniversary trip. The home was very close to the center with excellent access to public transportation. I would highly recommend Francesca’s home to anyone visiting Florence.
Very beautifully situated and restored, with a great view and hospitality
Very tastefully restored chapel belonging to the villa where the family lives. Description given is accurate but reality is even more romantic, beautiful and relaxed than expected. The chapel is restored and turned into a grand bedroom / living room. The bathroom and small kitchen are created in the side wing without disturbing the character of the building. The hosts are very kind and you almost feel part of the family, sitting on the main terrace with a 180 degree view over valley and mountains.
The small street is wide enough for a normal car (175cm) so don't worry. The villa is at nr2, the first house on the right. We arrived when the Wisteria was exploding with flowers forming an arch to our chapel-appartment.
You will need a car to be flexible but there is indeed a regular bus, roughly once per hour until 19:00 pm. A walk to Firenze will take an hour at least....
This chapel is indeed a unique and very romantic place to be. Just look at the pictures on the website! Nothing "posh" but beautiful and tasteful in a restrained way fitting in the setting of this grand villa. Amenities simple in the good sense of the word yet very complete. Good wine glasses. Highly recommended place to stay. We loved the dog Lola who kindly greeted us and kept us company whenever we indicated that we appreciated her. At home in Florence!
Beautiful place great location
Great property with old wooden doors. Room that I stayed perfect for a couple. Traditional Antique furniture, small kitchenette and a comfy bathroom with soothing shower. Great views from the backyard with olive and albero di arances (orange trees). In all it was a pleasure staying in this beautiful property. Make sure your 1st stop is Trattoria Omero after you settle in. Great food great vibe less than 1/2 mile from your room.
And Francesca will take care of your requests!
Wonderful stay, unique location
Clean and charming guest house on a beautiful estate on the hill of Tuscany. About a 50 minute walk into the heart of Florence, very scenic and walkable (downhill). There is also public transport very near by. The family was very lovely and accommodating. Very pleasant interactions. Would recommend to a friend or family member!
Serene - near Florence; in the rolling hillside
My husband and I enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. Quiet, clean, serene.
Francesca greeted us with the best homemade chocolate cake! A car is not needed if you are willing to take the local bus (less than 2 Euro each way) and/or walk. It is a bit of a walk to Florence (for the fit), but great exercise and beautiful views. Small kitchenette was supplied with basics. A local restaurant is nearby and also sells, wine cheese, bread, salami and other treats for a quick snack - or make it a full meal sitting in the garden and watching a beautiful Tuscan sunset!
