I am a resilient, persistent personality.... I established my rental after the unexpected passing of my husband in May 2018. Now alone, I had to reinvent my life so that I might continue to enjoy what we had built together. The casita was a natural choice; a lovely opportunity to share our personal utopia with the world. My husband enjoyed a 55+ year career as a professional sculptor - guests will enjoy viewing his work throughout the property. As an "avocational glass artist", my work is also available to view, as well as purchase. It is our joy to share our private space with guests so that they may, for a brief moment, enjoy our journey.

Really great place to stay
Great find!!! Clean and cozy!
Super home-y, squeaky clean, everything you need for a comfortable stay. And a bunch of great extras: bottled water, tons of toiletries, full (and adorable) kitchen! Only negative is that it’s a bit far from Death Valley, but there’s a lot in the Pahrump area amenity-wise to make the drive worth it. A bit tricky to find because of our shotty cell service (we have AT&T) but I had printed directions from Death Valley to the rental beforehand...DEF needed this, don’t skip doing this just in case. Host made check-in a breeze and was excellent with communication before arrival. Definitely staying at Karla’s place on our next Death Valley trip! Hands down our cleanest, nicest furnished VRBO experience!!
Thanks for choosing my casita - you were SUCH a respectful guest.. letting me know of your late arrival (no problem) and leaving the place as you found it...it was as if you were never there...making clean-up for the next guest a breeze. Please visit again when you are in the area....
We had some glitches with our Car and Karla went out of her way to help us. The property was spotless. The sculptures and the pine trees in the property make the surrounding and the experience very serene.
It was indeed a pleasure to host you and your family - I love to meet folks from different locales/cultures. Thanks for being respectful of my property - you are welcome back anytime!
Designer Dream Space
Although small, the layout is great, and all the attention to detail and beautiful small touches, make for a delightful stay. The kitchen is the best equipped of all vacation rentals we have experienced. I know many vacationers don't want to cook, but I do -- and I appreciate having everything I need do so! Thank you Karla; we will definitely stay again!
Evalynne & Bill:
What wonderful guests you were! So gracious and appreciative of my efforts to offer an amazing experience - I do hope you come back to visit!
Great Couples Get Away / Fragrance Free!
This little casita is cozy, comfortable and situated in a quiet neighborhood just minutes away from downtown for dining and shopping. It was perfect for a romantic get away for two. The house is updated, spotless, and has all the necessary amenities as well as access to laundry machines.
Many locations use fragrance as an indicator of cleanliness. As someone who has severe negative reactions to scented cleaners, air fresheners, etc., this house was a relief! Karla uses natural cleaners and no added fragrances. Her linens are washed and air dried.
The mattress was comfortable. There was a diverse and ample supply of bedding to meet temperature comforts.
Karla is a friendly, gracious and generous hostess. She’s very attentive to answering questions, made great suggestions for day trips and sights to see. As an onsite host she responsive but not “present”. She did not insert herself into our vacation time.
This property will be our first choice on our next visit to the area.
It is always a pleasure when others recognize the hard work that has gone into creating a welcoming and comfortable retreat for travelers, with continuing efforts to not only maintain the property, but to provide upgrades based on guest feedback. Meg & Bruce were a joy to host; having similar interests, we were able to "trade some nuggets of knowledge" regarding our personal passions. As a long-time native of the area, I enjoy enlightening folks regarding local spots to visit that are not advertised in travel publications. I will certainly "leave the light on" for Meg & Bruce should they pass this way again!
Lovely, restful, cool oasis!
My husband and I felt immediately at home in this charming casita! It was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting family for a few days. Very easy to find, and very accessible to downtown Pahrump. Also, good location for doing day trips over to Death Valley Nat'l Park. The kitchen is well supplied with dishes, utensils and cookware for anyone who wishes to prepare meals and eat "at home", which we did on the evening of our arrival. A nice option after driving a long distance and not feeling up to going out again for dinner. In the morning when we woke up it was very pleasant to take our coffee/tea outside and walk around the spacious grounds and admire the amazing sculptures which were on display...all created by the host's husband. We also truly enjoyed meeting our host, Karla, who came out to introduce herself to us! She shared information about the various pieces, and some of their history. We had a delightful and comfortable stay, and hope to return again!
We are located half way between Death Valley and Las Vegas, making us a perfect stopping point in between. Along the way there are many interesting attractions including the Amargosa Opera House (http://www.amargosa-opera-house.com/), Tecopa Hot Springs (http://www.tecopahotsprings.org/TecopaHotSprings/Home.html), China Ranch Date Farm (https://www.chinaranch.com/), Death Valley Brewery (http://www.deathvalleybrewing.com/), Pahrump Winery (http://www.pahrumpwinery.com/), Spring Mountain Motorsports (https://www.springmountainmotorsports.com/), Front Sight Firearms Training (https://www.frontsight.com/handgun-training-memberships.asp), Red Rock Canyon (https://www.redrockcanyonlv.org/) and much, much more.
