Erin & Brian Johnson
About Erin & Brian Johnson
"Just a small-town girl, living in a "… Alright. Journey lyrics aside. Erin grew up in a small town in the Midwest, but her midnight train to anywhere was actually a Dodge Neon to Hollywood. Brian wasn’t always a city boy – growing up in a smaller Midwest town motivated him to explore the diversity and landscape of California. They would meet on a movie set in Los Angeles and for a smile they would share the night and that goes on and on and on and on. ; ) Their spirit for adventure would eventually lead them to Yosemite where it was easy to fall in love with the natural beauty of the area and a place they would both become engaged, then married... and yes to each other. These two small-town kids from the prairie have been enjoying Yosemite for years ever since. When Erin isn’t relaxing at Yosemite and perfecting the Sierra Special, she’s traveling to film locations where she coordinates movie pre-production. Lately, she spends her time on a studio lot managing the Production Office for a tv series. When Brian isn’t mountain biking, kayaking, or just starring at the pines from his hammock, you’ll find him in an animation studio art directing and designing environments for animated worlds. When the weekend comes, they’ll take the midnight Jeep to Yosemite. Together, they manage Firefall Lodge where they help fellow travelers make the most of their Yosemite vacation.
Erin & Brian Johnson purchased this Lodge in 2014
Why Erin & Brian Johnson chose Fish Camp
Quite simply, Fish Camp is the best location for your Yosemite vacation for its convenience, its access and its beauty.
What makes this Lodge unique
• FIREFALL CREEK - We have a year-round creek that flows through the property. Kick the windows open during the Summer and fall asleep to the sounds of falling water. You won’t be able to go fishing or swimming here, but if that’s your pleasure, we’ve got you covered nearby. • RAINBOW LAKE - The creek flows into nearby Rainbow Lake, which is located across the way, with easy access from a shared path. The pond, lake is best enjoyed from the Lodge where you can listen to its natural inhabitants during Summer evenings. • GREAT BLUE HERRONS - Speaking of local inhabitants… Spring and Summer are a great time to sit on the patio and watch the Great Blue Herons that nest in the tallest Sugar Pine overlooking the pond. What’s that? You don’t know how to identify Blue Herons? They’re the ones in the sky with the five to six-foot wing span. Yeah, no kidding. You’d be forgiven if you mistake them for the elusive Sierra Pterodactyl. • COVERED DECK - During the Fall and Winter, when it might be raining or snowing, you can still take in the outside and enjoy the sounds of nature with the stillness of the mountain forest. • GENERATOR - No matter what season you’ll be traveling in or what the weather might bring, you’ll sleep soundly knowing your vacation won’t be spoiled by power outages. Our whole house generator automatically turns on when the power goes out and you’ll continue enjoying your stay without interruption. • YOSEMITE CONSERVANCY - Need a reason to feel even better? We take care of the places we love and play. Portions of your stay are donated to the Yosemite Conservancy to provide continued support for our park and its future.

Great stay for Yosemite!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Firefall Lodge. The location is perfect for driving into Yosemite and nice to come home to a large place with plenty of room to relax. The place was way too big for our needs (family of 4), but it was really nice to have the room to spread out. It was great to be able to cook meals in the kitchen with every utensil you'd need. It was also perfect to have the gas grill right on the patio to use and we were happily surprised with soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, dispensers in the bathroom. The abundance of outlets especially where you'd want them was a real plus for keeping everyone's devices charged (GoPro, phones, watches, etc)! Overall, the Firefall Lodge was perfect for our Yosemite stay!
Beautiful home in Fish Camp that had great access to Yosemite, Tenaya Lodge and Oakhurst!
Wonderful place to stay! We used the welcome packet provided for Firefall Lodge to plan a great 3 day trip to Yosemite and surrounding areas. The owners were very helpful and the Lodge was well appointed for our family of 6. The Lodge provided everything we needed just like home. Beds were comfortable and the living area was cozy. Chess, monopoly and more to regroup as a family in the evening was available. Our family will return again. Thank you for one of our best family vacations!
Ridiculously beautiful lodge.
I had the most wonderful stay here. The lodge is breathtaking, so be prepared when you walk in. The living room has gorgeous high ceilings, and the whole first floor has a huge, open floor plan - yet somehow also provides the comfiest, coziest place to relax with your friends or family.
You have truly everything you need for a magical escape. Each corner of the house was thoughtfully accessorized and decorated. Tons of dishes, pots, and pans and a huge kitchen; beautiful, comfortable, hotel-style linens and towels; and on top of it all, an incredible host who sends you all the knowledge and information you need for a perfect trip to the area prior to your stay.
I'm nervous to go on my next vacation, because the home was just too gorgeous and I'm not sure what's going to compare. HIGHLY recommend!!
Truly the best experience I've ever had with AirBnb or Vrbo. The owners were incredibly helpful and communicative, and the house is gorgeous. It was bigger than I anticipated, and beautifully furnished. The large number of rooms was definitely a plus, but we tended to gather in the living room which was very accommodating of a large group. This was also probably the first time I've enjoyed cooking in a rental. The kitchen is fully stocked (including great dishware) and fun to use.
The surrounding area is beautiful, and the deck / swing / outdoor seating really allow you to enjoy it easily. And of course, we took day trips into Yosemite which is just a short drive away. This was definitely a score, and highly recommended.
Wow just wow!! A must stay.
I highly recommend Brian and Erin's place for your next stay in Yosemite. I myself cannot wait to book again!!
The house is very spacious, organized and extremely clean. If I wanted time to myself for reading, there was plenty of space to escape and be comfortable, lazing around on different couches or chairs inside and out. I loved the patio swing to escape, listen to nature and read.
The kitchen is so well equipped, that every utensil needed for cooking was there to make my time in the kitchen easy.
I had the Sequoia suite during my stay and the bed was like being in a hotel. Bedding and linen was comfortable and pillows abundant.
Bathrooms also very well thought out with everything you need with soap, shampoo and conditioner. Towels also big and fluffy.
The property is kept so clean and tidy. Every last detail thought of throughout the house and I could even do my laundry before we left and not have to go home to washing. A big bonus.
The furniture not only looked fabulous in the house, it was so comfortable that it was hard to sit and not fall asleep on any of the chairs or couch. Made for a fun movie night and the TV was set up perfectly for such evenings.
Communication was on point and both very easy to get a hold of.
I won't lie, I kinda wanna live there. That's how at home I felt during my stay.
Thanks again Erin and Brian, I look forward to my next stay in your amazing house!!
The property was amazing! It was so spacious and cozy that we could have stayed in all day! It was perfect for our group which included small kids to grandmothers....it is a place for everyone to enjoy. Erin was lovely to speak to and not to mention super responsive. We cannot wait to go back! Thank you, Erin, for making it such a memorable experience for us.
