About Jerome Missel / Rebecca Godley
My wife and I recently moved from Rhode Island to Savannah but we visit our home in Bar Harbor often. We love the fact that you can walk downtown, hike the Shore Path and dine out--all without driving a car! Kebo Golf course is one half mile away from our home.
Jerome Missel / Rebecca Godley purchased this Cottage in 2004
Why Jerome Missel / Rebecca Godley chose Bar Harbor
Beautiful area--Acadia National Park is listed as one of the 1000 places one should visit!! The numerous Ranger Talks / Walks and Boat Tours cover so many interesting topics relating to history, geology, plant and wildlife.

Perfect Home base!
My group of 6 really enjoyed this house and it's proximity to downtown Bar Harbor. Everything was easy walking distance and the space in the house was great. The decor was really cute and it definitely had the New England seacoast vibe. Everything we needed was already in the house for us, we just had to bring ourselves, our clothes and any food we wanted. The fridge was already stocked with condiments. The house was clean and the self check in arrival went smoothly. If we ever make it back to Bar Harbor, we would definitely stay here again!
This is the second time we have stayed in this home and it did not disappoint. The house is wonderful! The home was impeccably clean upon arrival. The home had everything you need to feel at home. Everything from clean towels, pots and pans, and a fully stocked pantry. Can’t wait to stay a 3rd time.
The house is cute and well-kept, but the best part for us was the location. We had 4 kids under age 8 on this trip and needed easy access to Acadia NP, as well as groceries, restaurants, etc. and the location of this house was hard to beat. Very short walks to grocery store, bike rentals, shuttles to the national park (where parking is a nightmare, so the shuttle is the way to go), village green, and all of the shopping and restaurants in downtown Bar Harbor.
Bar Harbor is small and quiet, but still, I'd say if you're looking for more of a middle-of-nowhere, sit on the porch and read kind of vacation, this house probably wouldn't work for you- the houses are close together and there is no yard to speak of.
A warning if you have very young kids- this house has tons of little tchotchkes everywhere- our youngest kid was 4 so we were OK, but I would have been worried with younger kids breaking things or even tipping larger furniture on themselves.
The only downside for us was the location of the bathrooms- one is off the kitchen (with shower) and one is on the 2nd floor (with bathtub). We had 2 families using the house and the family sharing the 3rd floor had to go down a level to use the bathroom. Certainly didn't ruin the vacation(!), but it was a little inconvenient.
Jerome and Rebecca were very easy to deal with, everything was in working order, and all in all, I'd definitely rent this house again!
Fabulous house and locations. Owners were great to deal with.
House was beautiful and in a great location. House has plenty of room for the largest of families. Anyone going to bar harbpr should skid the hotels and stay here. We cant wait to go back.
Wonderful home and perfect location
My sisters and I met for a 7 day vacation. We had a wonderful time and the house was perfect. All the rooms were clean and supplies were provided. The walk to downtown and the docks was easy, maybe only a 5 minute walk. The only problem we had was with the TV in the front room. The cable wasn't set up or working but the supply of DVD's kept us entertained. That did not stop us one bit in enjoying the home or area. Beautiful home and great location. Would recommend this home to anyone who is looking to stay near downtown and the park.
All the Stars!
We just got back from an amazing four days in Bar Harbor. The Eden Cottage couldn't have been more perfect for our family's stay. Location, location, location! We were able to walk to everything that Bar Harbor had to offer and and a generous sized driveway made it very easy for us to park two cars off the street and use them to get to Acadia.
The cottage is so well stocked with everything we needed and more. Forget something? It's probably there! Plus we have stayed at quite a few owner rentals and this is by far the cleanest rental we have ever done.
Our only regret is that we weren't able to spend a full week there! Everyone in our family would highly recommend!
