Colle in Ceralto is family-run, family-owned, and family-loved. The Bennicellis have lived in Umbria for over 200 years and are delighted to be able to share the beauty of the region whose land they have cultivated, and cherished, for generations. Guests are invited to enter into a more intimate relationship with nature in a relaxing oasis far from the stresses of city life.
Colle in Ceralto is just outside of a small medieval town from which it draws its name. Located at the foot of a hill, it is surrounded by lush, untouched countryside where thick forests of oaks and groves of olive trees thrive as they have for centuries.
Colle in Ceralto, "Casa dei Cavalli" consists into two separate apartments, Betulla and Fiordaliso; each can accommodate four guests. Completely renovated, the villa abounds with such typical Umbrian details as stone walls, tiled roofs, and original wooden beamed ceilings. Rooms are furnished with a combination of characteristic rustic furniture and elegant upholstery. It’s an ideal pace for families with kids or a group of friends.
Fiordaliso, the apartment on the ground floor, consists of a large living room with a fireplace and access to a spacious patio, a fully-equipped kitchen, two double bedrooms (one with a queen-size bed, the other with two twins), and one bath.
The apartment upstairs on the first floor, Betulla, offers a generous living area with a beautiful fireplace, a fully-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, and one bath. An external staircase links the apartment to a private patio on the garden level with a handsome view of the surrounding countryside.
The two apartments in Casa dei Cavalli share a swimming pool. Nearby a typical Umbrian dependence, or outbuilding, contains a ping-pong table, a wood stove for making your own bread and pizza, and a barbecue.
Bicycles are available upon request; please note at the time of your booking.
I am 39 years-old; my wife Alice and I are the happy parents of three girls. I love travel, sports, and spending time with family and friends. I born in Genoa and working in a shipping industry, my heart and true interest is on this activity which make me proud to own such a beautiful place.
Alessandro Lanza purchased this villa in 1850
This is a place to dream up big ideas…or think about nothing at all. You can take long walks and listen to birds. You can enjoy the shade of the pergola in summer, the warmth of the fireplace in winter. At Colle in Ceralto you are also ideally situated to explore the marvels of Umbria—Montefalco, Bevagna, Todi, and Monte Castello Vibio are nearby, while slightly farther afield there are such classic Umbrian destinations as Assisi, Perugia, Spello, Gubbio, and Spoleto.
The buildings, their history, and their location at the top of a gentle hill are simply magical!
Our family of four including two children 9 and 11 years had a fantastic, relaxing time at Gualdo Cattaneo. Our hosts welcomed us on arrival and gave us all the information we needed to find horse riding schools, hire a good quality racing bike locally at amazingly reasonable rates and went beyond the call of duty, so far as to help us back in to the property when we locked ourselves out and to contact lost property and retrieve our lost items from the airport.
The property is a beautiful old stone house, with out building containting table tennis, large lawns and a pool. Furniture is traditional but all good quality. A large terrace for each of the apartments meant we had privacy even though there was another family nearby.
A fabulous place, great service and recommendations from the owner. So many fabulous hill forts and places to visit. Umbria is a beautiful, green, hilly an der hugely historic place with amazing food, weather and people.
We would happily return and rate this holiday as excellent.

The area surrounding Montefalco is famous for food and wine. One of the most prestigious Italian reds, Sagrantino di Montefalco, is cultivated nearby. The region is also known for its truffles and extra-virgin olive oil—we proudly produce (and sell!) our own.Situated at the top of a hill dense with olive trees, the setting of the properties is incomparable.
