Overview

Ashford Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2 baths, complete interior renovation, SLEEPS 8.

The casual lodge atmosphere is enhanced by the aroma of pine walls and refinished 100-year-old fir hardwood floors. Warmth, charm, and comfort emanates from the river rock hearth and gas fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, tile bathrooms, and overall total quality of the furnishings and decor. Outside, cedar and fir trees shelter the elk, deer and raccoons that wander throughout the 61/2 private acres. A horseshoe pit and hot tub are easily accessible from the decks. Conveniently located halfway between Ashford and Mt. Rainier's main entrance, make our home your destination for an unforgettable mountain experience.

Visit Mt. Rainier National Park: One of the most beautiful sights is Mt. Rainier in the Winter. Surrounded by high peaks, alpine trees, lakes, waterfalls, and nature at its finest, you will never forget the splendor displayed here.

Cross-country Ski, Snowshoe, Sled: Winter activity and peaceful tranquility in the area increase as the traffic decreases. Photo opportunities abound.

You will want to stay forever at Wildwood: The warmth of the cabin's propane fireplace and forced air furnace make your days and evenings spent there so comfy, surrounded by the beautiful interior, watching for deer and elk in the yard.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for letting us rent the cabin over the holidays. It certainly gave Scott a look at why WA is called the Evergreen state! You sure were right about the ELK...HOLY SMOKES! We decided to take an early morning dip in the hot tub and saw a herd of about 20 elk go by. We thought we might see one or two way back in the woods; but had no earthly idea there was a trail within 30 yards of the cabin. They are a magnificent sight! Next time, we're taking the camera out with us. Scott was also thrilled with the drive up to Paradise. He said he can't wait to see the glaciers and, oh yeah, Mt. Rainier, when it's actually out. See you soon.

Wonderful Cabin at Mt. Rainier

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time here. Everything in the cabin has been recently remodeled, and besides being gorgeous, it is comfortable and has all the amenities we needed. It was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub was very clean and so nice to relax in after a long day sightseeing and hiking around.

It was obvious that the owners put their heart and soul into this place, and I will definitely return again many times, as well as recommend this to others!

We took some nice strolls down the quiet country lane across the way, and also hiked down into the back of the cabin's property. It is nice to be so surrounded by nature. There were even deer in the yard when we got up one morning!

Great place to relax after summitting Mt. Rainier

  • 4 of 5

LaNorma's home was a perfect place to relax after my friends and I climbed to the summit of Mt. Rainier. The hot tub could have been hotter for our sore muscles, but was clean and functional. The BBQ was fantastic and we loved the fire pit. My only complaint is that the phones and wifi were both not working, so we were completely unable to communicate to our families that we had made it down safely from the summit. Hopefully, she can fix that and I would have given it 5 stars! (It was nice to be off the grid for a couple of days, but annoying that we had to go in search of wifi to relay the message home that we were alive.)

Owner's Response: I absolutely love it when climbers rent our property. They add a bit of extra excitement to my business! They also appreciate our amenities such as super comfortable beds, our hot tub, and the fire pit. Their problem with the phones and wifi was a frustrating problem. The people who rented the cabin right before the climbers were in charge of a bike event (they use our cabin every year for a rest and food stop) and used their own equipment for timing and communication. I guess the phone was plugged into the wrong line, so when we switched it, everything worked. The best news is that there are two cell phone towers planned in our area. I don't know when they will be functional, but one is under construction and one is in the planning phase. So soon people will be able to use their cell phones. I am particularly sad that these climbers had to worry their friends and relatives about their safety!!

Just the place we needed

  • 4 of 5

This was our first time going to this area so did not know what to expect. It was an emotional journey to honor my husbands last wish of scattering his ashes at Mt Rainier. I was looking for something close to the park entrance and this property was the perfect choice to stay. It was comfortable, equipped, private and great location. We only had one issue of some outlets not working but LaNorma sent her excellent electrician to take care of the problem immediately. LaNorma has been great to work with. Since I left something very precious at the Mt, I know I will be back and I would definitely stay here again!

We will certainly look forward to your next visit. You were so understanding and accommodating to allow my electrician to quickly fix the outlet.

Excellent vacation rental

We had a great time. Beds were comfortable, house was large enough to very comfortably accommodate four adults and a toddler. We were visited by elk in the yard, which was a great surprise. Very convenient location for exploring Mt. Rainier National Park.

Owner's Response: The elk have no schedule, so you are just LUCKY! It's truly a spectacular sight when they do decide to walk through our property. Thank you for the nice review. I am always happy when our guests have a great time and enjoy our beautiful cabin and setting.

All the comforts of home without the responsibilities of home!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed 3 nights at Wildwood at Mt. Rainier. We had planned to meet another couple there and had they been able to come, there would have been plenty of room. However, with the comfortable furniture, beautiful decor and fantastic hot tub we didn't mind the time on our own! LaNorma was very easy to work with in the reservation process and Ashford is a perfect jumping off point to explore Mt. Rainier. We will be back!

Beautiful snowy getaway!

The cabin is beautiful! The owner LaNorma went above and beyond, she was so accommodating. The hot tub was amazing at night because we had clear skies and could see all the stars. We'll definitely be renting again, maybe this summer!
