Misleading view of beach

  • 4 of 5

Apartment was very nice. It was clean and well equipped. Sid made sure to check in a couple of times to see if there was anything we needed. My only complaint is the picture out the front window is very misleading. It gives the appearance that there is a small road between the apartment and the beach. What you see in the picture is the Traverse Area Recreational Trail (TART). You actually have to cross Bay St. which is a two lane road, you then have the Tart Trail and then you have to cross M22 going in to town, some green space, and then M22 going out of town. Both are very busy 2 lane highways. If you have small kids, this may not be ideal for you. Please see the map and do satellite view for a true view.

Great location and price!

Very nice and clean apartment walking distance to the beach or downtown. We had an issue with the heat and Sidney was immediately available to take care of it. We would definitely stay here again!

A great place to stay if you like biking in the Traverse City Bay Area. Easy access to the TART trails, easy walking to downtown, and locked bike storage underneath the unit. Sid is very responsive, the kitchen is well-stocked, the unit is clean and has everything you need for an enjoyable weekend getaway!

Stunning Views -- simply cross the street to West Bay

  • 5 of 5

We spent much of the winter (yes, Traverse City is fabulous in the winter as well) in this fabulously located apartment, using it as a home base while we were building a home in the city. The views are breathtaking in any season, Sid is a gregarious and responsive owner, and the entire city is within walking distance. There is plenty of space for lots of guests, the kitchen is the best-equipped VRBO kitchen we've ever encountered (and we've seen plenty), and you can barbecue on the gas grill on the deck. If you truly want a downtown experience while taking in one-of-a-kind views, this is the place! Also . . . if you bring your own bicycles to enjoy the numerous bike paths Traverse City offers, there is a storage area at ground level. Bonus!

Traverse City is a beautiful area rich in both natural and cultural wonders. Located in between two gorgeous bays used for swimming, boating, sailing, and wave-watching. Traverse is surrounded by Lake Michigan to the north and west. Day trips into Leelanau County take you to the Sleeping Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan beaches and welcoming towns as you drive along M-22 from Empire to Suttons Bay. Stop along the way for wine tasting at the many local wineries in the area. Downtown TC requires no driving to reach a rich assortment of restaurants, shopping, and activities for all ages. Front Street is home to the historic State Theatre with daily showings. Diverse restaurants appeal to all tastes with choices from sandwiches to sushi. Shop for books, antiques, clothing, art and more in one of the many local boutiques. Traverse is home to the National Cherry Festival, TC Film Festival, Interlochen Arts Academy, Dennos Museum, casinos, Wuerfel Ballpark(home to minor league Beach Bums) and more!
