About Nancy and Rene Eris

We moved to Arizona from the Monterey Bay area in California eighteen years ago. We had both owned businesses in California and wanted to retire in an area that was fog free and enjoyed year round sun. After searching the Southwest for several years, we found the perfect place for us in the Troon Village area of Scottsdale..a location that was a little remote and very scenic, yet near enough to 'all the action' that the greater Phoenix area and the State have to offer. We love to hike the nearby trails enjoying vistas of beautiful mountains, boulder outcroppings and high desert landscape. One of our favorite things to do is to sit in the spa viewing the spectacular display of stars in the nightime sky and is a favorite with our visitors as well. Our casita is located on the property with our home, but is a separate unit we built to accommodate our guests.

Come be our guests in our cozy casita soon! Happy Trails, Nancy & Rene

What makes this studio unique

Our casita is perfect for guests who want a private, quiet and comfortable retreat! The courtyard entrance completes the inviting atmosphere with the sound of a soothing fountain. Two plush chairs in the courtyard are perfect for greeting the morning with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine later in the day. The casita is decorated with a Southwest motif and has many 'creature comforts' you would expect...a basket of fruit and extra bottles of water to name just a couple. The pool and spa are for private use of only our guests.

An absolute gem!

  • 5 of 5

As much as we wish to keep this gem to us, we find ourselves often telling our family members and friends about how marvelous this place is and the pleasurable experience we had. We speak of this place very highly and without hesitations, recommend it to our friends for their rendezvous.

This cozy casita has so much to offer and it surroundings will sure ignite the romance. We absolutely LOVE it!

The clear blue sky, sparkling stars, Nancy’s flickering candles, outstanding mountain views and hot bubbly Jacuzzi sure sets a very romantic atmosphere.

And to top it off, the owners (Nancy and Rene’) are absolutely an amazing couple with gushing hospitality. They are definitely the icing on the cake and will definitely make you feel at home here.

Due to its popularity, it books quickly. So, if you are currently planning a trip and have certain dates in mind, you better book this lovely casita fast.

My husband and I already planning on visiting again early 2015 and we surely cannot wait.

Nancy and Rene are amazing! They are the most gracious hosts. We felt so welcomed and comfortable. They have thought of every detail. The Casitas is clean, well appointed, and comfortable (and the cookies are sinfully delicious). When they tell you the backyard oasis is yours to use they do mean it. Gorgeous views to wake up to and hiking trails within walking distance. We have our calendars out and are currently planning a trip back!!! Thank you again!!!

Feels like Visiting Family

  • 5 of 5

Our first visit to Scottsdale could not have been more delightful. We knew we were at the right lodging as our guests, Nancy & Rene, warmly greeted us at the door to their lovely Casita. It felt like visiting family. The cozy, western décor set the stage for our entire visit. The cactus covered hills greeted us every morning on our walks. A new kind of beauty, so different from our Midwest roots. The Casita has everything you need for a fun filled getaway to the west. It’s charming and comfortable with all the amenities to make a light breakfast or lunch. The use of their spacious patio and spa is icing on the cake. It’s truly a 5 Star experience!

My husband and I chose this cozy casita based on reviews from VRBO and I am so glad we did!! First off, the owners are amazing! Our flight arrived late and Rene insisted that we not worry about our arrival time. He graciously met us very late and showed us around the casita. He also insisted that we knock on their door the next morning to meet his wife. This casita was perfect for the two of us!

The moment we opened the door to the casita we felt so welcomed! There was a sign welcoming us with complimentary bottled waters, fruit basket and fresh baked cookies.

The casita is decorated so beautifully and I loved the stories behind the antiques and pictures (as told to us from Rene upon arrival). There is a queen (very comfortable) bed, huge closet with extra towels, iron, hangers, robes, slippers and plenty of storage. There is a kitchenette that has a Keurig coffee pot and coffee pods, small refrigerator, sink, microwave, towels, dishwashing soap, and plenty of utensils and dishes. The TV is mounted on the wall and is perfect for watching from the bed. The bathroom only has a shower but is spacious and stocked with everything you could possibly need. There is a blow dryer, plush towels, soaps, shampoos, conditioners so you do not need to bring any of your toiletries. There was also a basket under the sink that was stocked with items that you might have forgotten from home.

We arrived into Phoenix airport and came in for the college national championship football game (Roll Tide!!) and even though the first drive late at night seemed far, once we got familiar with the area, it really wasn't. We were able to tour cities such as Cave Creek, Carefree and Sedona very easily. We spent time in downtown Phoenix, Glendale, Scottsdale, Old Town Scottsdale and were able to reach all these destinations very easily.

The hosts (Nancy & Rene) are AMAZING! They felt like long lost friends or even family. They graciously invited us into their home to ask questions about the area, print boarding passes and just visit.

Although we were busy and didn't use the back patio or yard, they have a pool, hot tub, grill, comfortable seating and fire pits all for the use of their guests. There is also a nice trail that leads behind their house if you like nature and taking pictures of wildlife and cactus.

We will DEFINITELY be back and would recommend this cozy casita to anyone looking for a quiet, scenic, real Arizona experience!

Beautiful Casita!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I couldn’t have picked a better place to relax and enjoy our vacation. The location was just perfect. It was quiet and the views of the surrounding mountains were just gorgeous. The owners (Nancy & Rene) were so welcoming right from the start. They made you feel right at home. The yard was amazing and we enjoyed many mornings/afternoons lounging by the pool (on the most comfortable chaise loungers). The evenings were beautiful out by the pool with the stars and with the added touch of all the candles and the amazing fire bowls they had. The courtyard was beautiful too with the lovely plants/trees, fountain and great rocking chairs to enjoy the moment (I felt like I was in Tropical Paradise). We enjoyed the fruit, snacks (especially the homemade cookies – which were delicious) and water that was in the room upon our arrival. Anything you needed Nancy and Rene were there to accommodate (much better than a hotel) whether it was ice or clean towels. My husband enjoyed the many conversations he had with Rene (thanks Rene). We would definitely stay at the “Casita” again and would highly recommend it to anyone that’s looking for a wonderful place to stay in Scottsdale! We have been vacationing in Arizona for over 30/yrs and this "Casita" and the Troon area is by far the best place to stay! Thanks again Nancy and Rene for making our vacation just perfect!!!!
