Great Location, Cleanliness and Mgmt needs work
We stayed here with our 10 month old son. Location was perfect, next to great restaurants, shops and within a 20 min walk to major attractions. Our frustrations were working with the management team that was not very flexible with additional requests and was not clear on communication.
- Cash payment for remaining balance - we asked if we could pay prior by CC and their reasoning for no was because it takes 3 months to get $ from the bank (highly unlikely in todays technology)
- Early Check in - only allowed one hour early, had to book the night prior to guarantee. When I inquired about early check in the first person told me it was booked the night prior but they would let me know if they could get it clean any faster prior to check in (but according to website it was not booked) so one week prior to arrival when I asked again stating that no one was in the apt for the 2 nights prior they responded saying that now it is booked and the hour early was all they could do....very curious
-Crib - we booked a crib for our stay, when we arrived it wasn't there and the response was "sorry, I forgot to order it, it will be here tomorrow".
- Locked Out - We had a miscommunication on our part and accidently locked ourselves out. Upon calling and getting back in the response was that "Its a Sunday, in France we don't work on Sundays so be careful next time" Apparently next time we will try to lock ourselves out on another day of the week. Note...they will charge you for this and price goes up depending on time of day.
Overall we just felt like you had to read between the lines with this mgmt. group and if you stepped out of line you would be charged for something.
Cleanliness and Facilities:
I give cleanliness a 3/5, its just not up to standard. Floor was dusty and dirty (not ideal with a kid crawling around). Mattress is dirty, dusty and just not fun to know your sleeping on. There is no dryer (although person checking us in said there is). they DO provide a hair dryer. Note that there are 2 flights of stairs for 2nd floor...ground is floor 0...not a big deal unless your carrying a baby and stroller. Also, note that there are several night clubs on this block. Th-Sat I had to use earplugs and have white noise next to my ear to be able to sleep. You don't hear the people but you hear the DJ's music in your chest!
Overall, everything worked out and we enjoyed our stay we just suggest management work on customer service skills and apt cleanliness
Dear Jenifer, thank you very much for taking the time to write such a detailed and thoughtful review and to provide such constructive feedback. We always value our guest's experiences and it is thanks to guests like you that we are able to make improvements to the overall guest experience. The location of the apartment is indeed fantastic and incredibly central. As with any flat located in the heart of the city, a little city noise is to be expected from time to time, but the fact that you can walk to most touristic sights in the city from there definitely helps to make up for it. We understand that every sleeper can have a different sensitive to noise, and we suggest that those who are not used to such city sounds use ear plugs at night if it prevents them from getting a good night's rest. Regarding the cash payment, this is indicated on the listing and in all of our correspondance with you. Taking the second half of the payment in this way helps us to keep the costs down for our guests. We hold a very high standard when it comes to cleanliness and we are sorry to hear that you did not find the cleaning satisfactory. Had this been signalled to us, we would have been happy to address these issues to ensure a more comfortable stay for you and your family. We are also sorry you found the call out fee to be high, but this is to make up for the fac that a member of our staff has to drop everything they are doing to go to meet guests at any time of the day when they happen to find themselves locked out of the apartment. Jenifer, we are sorry your stay did not quite go according to your expectations and we would be grateful to be given a second chance to host you in the future. We have many flats in Paris and there is surely one that meets all of your expectations in terms of size, noise level and amenities. You will, of course, benefit from a special rate for returning guests. All the best to you and your family until then.
Your Home One Block From St Sulpice
This was our first time to rent an apartment in Paris (we've always stayed in small hotels). We loved it. The space was exactly as described and it's convenient to grocery, cafes, bakery bars and Jardin du Luxembourg. The only rough spot was being there on St Patrick's Day. Rue Guisarde can get a little active as a bar scene but things eventually calmed down. We walked to all the sights on the left bank and there's easy access to all other areas via the metro. Finally La Bastide d'olio and L'Enfance de Lard are excellent for dinner and right across the street. ENJOY!!
Bonjour Joe, merci beaucoup for your kind review. We are glad you enjoyed the unbeatable location of the apartment and were able to walk to all the places you wanted to visit. It is important to keep in mind that any flat located in such a central location in a busy city like London will be a bit noisy, especially with the windows open. With the windows closed, the noise is reduced to a minimum. We do provide fans to help guests keep cool and suggest that sensitive sleepers or those not accustomed to busy city noise use ear plugs to help them sleep if the find the sounds to be too disturbing, especially during special holidays such as Bastille Day or Saint Patrick's. We hope you'll be in touch for a future visit so you may benefit from our discounted rates for our returning guests.
Nice Flat in a Vibrant Area, Close to Everything
The location is great, just a couple of blocks from the Metro stops St Germain or Mabillon, the covered St Germaine market and Luxembourg Garden. Paul's welcoming assistant was very friendly when we arrived and she helped us to get oriented with the flat, its appliances, the internet and the neighborhood. The bed in the bedroom was excellent. Our daughter slept well on the sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is modern and more than adequate. The building is old and charming, as well as the secret courtyard where you enter. I definitely would stay here again.
Cool Parisian Pad!
We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment! Great location...lots to do, and close to many restaurants and tourist sites. The apartment was spacious and had a nice lay-out. Staff booking the apartment were always very helpful and responsive. An area for improvement would be to have better blinds/ drapes in the bedroom (for more privacy). Overall, great apartment and location!
We are glad that the apartment met your expectations and that you enjoyed the great location as well as the amenities and spaciousness. It was a pleasure to welcome your entire family and we look forward to having you back in the future. You will, of course, benefit from a discounted rate on your next stay when you book with us. Merci et à la prochaine, Yulia!
We just left this wonderful apartment. We often rent in Paris and this has been one of our favorites yet. The neighborhood is bustling and has really cool vibe. Tons of great restaurants and wine bars nearby. We had a great time here, when we arrived the place was very clean and we were provided with everything we needed for our stay, I really enjoyed being able to cook with the fresh food from the Saint Germain markets nearby and we were given some great information by our host on what to do and where to go! I would highly recommend a stay in this apartment! Thank you for having us.
Thanks to you for being such great guests, Bailey. We truly appreciate the review and are glad you were able to have a good time in Paris with our apartment. We appreciate you recommending the flat to family and friends and look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Please do be in touch so we can give you a special rate for returning guests! À bientôt.
