I like it's on the north shore. It's a very windy road up the mountain side but close to sunset beach and waimea valley which is a great place to stay . Charlette is great and we enjoyed our stay.
Charlotte was very friendly and checked on us in passing when we were leaving or coming back to the condo. The size of her place was good and the neighborhood seemed very safe. We were always on the go so we didn't spend much time in the condo but it worked for us! It's also located near some food trucks and Foodland, beaches and my favorite, Ted's Bakery.
I didn't give it 5 stars because the bathroom shower could use an update as the shower curtain rod was rusted and the shower itself could use a facelift with some regrouting. But other than that, it was great! The road to her place was a little steep and winding but easy to find!
Since we had just finished over a year of building our retirement home,we REALLY needed a relaxing vacation. We were glad to find the Murphy's excellent hosts, answering all our questions and generally making us feel that we were part of their family.
The facilities were as described on the VRBO website. We used the kitchen for several of our meals and found all the needed items for food preparation.
The North Shore of Oahu is VERY laid back, allowing the relaxed atmosphere of the Murphy's home to extend up and down the coast Hiway. We ate at several "budget" locally owned establishments finding friendly staff, comfortable surroundings and the food was great. Shrimp, burgers, bakery items salads...everything! Also, the local farmers market/craft sellers provided good quality and reasonable prices.
Several mornings when we stepped out on the veranda for breakfast, we heard the surf pounding in the distance. That led to many hours of sitting on or near the beach watching serious waves and a few experienced surfers slicing through the foaming water.
Ten days of pure relaxation and Charlotte and her family as hosts equals 5 Stars!!
Great hospitality, clean and comfortable unit. Couldn't fault it!
Love this property, great little place to stay, Cha cha is a wonderful hostess, as well and her Husband and Son. Enjoyed our time at this home. They also have a wonderful dog, The house is in a great country setting, with lots of vegetation. Would highly recommend for a quiet getaway, that is far from the city.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Murphy's. The place was in a wonderful location away from the hustle and traffic. It was perfect for us. The family was very kind and accommodating. The snorkeling was close and great. It had a real layer back feel. The only concern I had was the dog.
