Great place to stay.
We had a great time on vacation with all (most of) the children and grandchildren. The lodge was spacious and comfortable, well furnished, well kept, Beautiful! The bedrooms are big and surprisingly soundproof. With so many little ones in one place, no one woke anyone else in the night, that was perfect. Beautiful surroundings, the river (stream) behind the lodge was amazing. The children played there for hours. Plenty of seating spaces for meals and games. We would definitely recommend this place.
Todd, we love that you had 3 generations at Rapid River Lodge! It's the perfect place for large groups to gather. I'm sure that the grandkids thought they had hit the payload with the stream! We'd love to work with you again.
We had 18 people and we had enough room and then some. It has everything that we needed. Beautiful setting and very relaxing. We will defiantly be back. Great experience.
Rapid River Lodge is an excellent place to get away with family, friends, or group. Tons of space indoors and lots of privacy outdoors. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed all that Rapid River has to offer and look forward to hosting you with Freshwater Vacation Rentals again in the future!
Rapid River Review
We had a wonderful vacation at Rapid River. The lodge is large, clean, well stocked and the environment is beautiful. Freshwater personnel were very helpful and kind. Not a complaint - just a suggestion: the lodge has many glass sliding doors - but many do not have screens or operate properly. It would be great to be able to open these and enjoy the breeze. I would certainly recommend the Lodge to any larger group - we were a multi-generation family of 11 - it was perfect.
Ray, we are so happy to hear that you enjoyed staying at Rapid River Lodge. Located on 40 private acres within the Hiawatha National Forest, with a new hot tub and room for 18-20 guests, it is the perfect vacation spot. We'll let the owners know your thoughts on the screen doors.
Ammel Vacation 2019 Rapid River Lodge
Overall, the place was great and very accommodating! We were not sure what was included and we definitely over packed. Next time, we will know. We were very comfortable with plenty of room. The size of the kitchen was superb! Loved cooking and sitting everyone around the big table for a meal. The view was spectacular and the river was a lot of fun to go in. Very relaxing sitting on the back porch and listening to the water.
We had a few issues with ants and moths in the 3rd bedroom. In addition, the bottom bunks in the third bedroom were not very comfortable (adults slept there). The 3rd bedroom is OK for kids but not adults, plus there were no closets/dressers for clothing. We had 6 in the room and bags/suit cases everywhere! That was hard, but we managed. We attempted to use the sleeper sofa in the living room area, but the mattress was nasty. We had two kids end of sleeping on the couches since the bedroom had ants on the ceiling.
Lynn, we are happy that overall you had good experience staying at Rapid River Lodge. Located on 40 private acres within the Hiawatha National Forest, guests can really connect with nature and relax. There is new hot tub to facilitate the relaxation. It's great for large groups and pets are welcome to join you. Thanks for letting us know about the sofa sleeper and the lack of dressers. We will let the owners know. We will also take care of the ants. If you work with us again and have an issue like that, please let us know immediately, and we will get it resolved. Our guests comfort is our #1 priority.
Happiness in the U.P.
The lodge was the perfect setting for relaxation and fun with the family. Great place for a large family gathering. Management has tried to provide everything you may need during your stay.
Mike, we are so happy that your family reunion was a success at Rapid River Lodge. It is the perfect property for large groups to be comfortable. It is great for getting away in the lovely Hiawatha National Forest, plus you can make day trips to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Tahquamenon Falls State Park, and Mackinac Bridge. Your 4 legged friends can also join you! We hope to host you again soon.
Great Wedding Stay
The staff were very accommodating and helpful when I had questions about hosting a wedding and reception here. When we got there, everything was perfect and we were able to set up everything we needed. The space was large enough to have about 40 guests comfortably for the reception and just over 20 people to stay the night. The bugs were not too bad even after a wet early spring. Overall, I had no complaints about the location or the staff and would definitely recommend for weddings under 50 guests.
Andrew, congratulations on the wedding! What a perfect spot to have the wedding and the reception. We are thrilled that everything worked out so well. The layout and spaciousness of the lodge makes it perfect for large groups. We'd love to work with you again soon!
