About Dave Weber
I grew up and still live in Highland Park, IL and went to college in Wisconsin (UW-Eau Claire). We love to camp and fish and canoe and bike and hike! This area is perfect for that. Cheryl would only let me but a cottage to enjoy this area where I've enjoyed my whole life if we could find a way to help it pay it's way. So we started renting it as a vacation home on VRBO and Homeaway and the rest is history. We love coming up and staying at our cottages (we also now own a smaller cottage next door, called Quietwater Cottage)!
Dave Weber purchased this Cottage in 2006
Why Dave Weber chose Poynette
I have fished and enjoyed this beautiful area since I was a boy. We purchased this cottage to enjoy and share with others who want great memories. It is next door to our other cottage, Quietwater Cottage, which is a little smaller but equally nice.
What makes this Cottage unique
The open layout this cottage with the great views of the water and islands sold us on this wonderful getaway! We loved the big deck on the water side and the gently sloping yard to the water. It's close to so many fun things to do. We provide a canoe and rowboat for our guests and shallow water in front make it easy to get out on the water and enjoy the beauty of the river and sandy islands.

Great get away
Had a great time.
Ron was fantastic.
Will recommend this property to others
The house is a little bit of quiet peaceful heaven with a beautiful view of the lake and birds. Everything was so easy and refreshing that we will go again. Thank you to both the owners and managers.
It was great - beautiful, peaceful, relaxing.
We really enjoyed our week in WI. The house & property are beautiful - just like the pictures. We saw lots of wildlife & had a great time. Our 2 dogs & cat loved it too.
Quaint cottage and beautiful views!
We had such a nice and relaxing time. Loved the open concept main room and the kitchen was well stocked. The stairs to upper level are definitely steep so we had to swap original bedding plans with those who weren’t as equipped to manage but still plenty of space to make it work. Water levels were low which was great for the kids and dogs. Dad had zero bites or chance of catching a fish, even after rowing into deeper waters. Since it’s a rover I’m sure that fluctuates. Given the current, we dish there was a trolling motor for the boat but now we’ll know for next time.
Loved the easy in/out, thank you for that. Love the hot tub and deck too. Would def stay again.
We had a very nice stay. The cabin was great for our family of four. We were very comfortable and enjoyed all that the cabin had to offer.
Home away fro. Home
This is our second time renting from this owner and it was wonderful both times.
Beautiful waterfront area, home to Sand Hill Cranes, White Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, Pleated Woodpeckers, and more. Good kayaking and canoeing on the Wisconsin River or boating on Lake Wisconsin. Water too shallow at pier for larger boats, but 3 launches within 2 miles. Many nearby attractions including the Wisconsin Dells, Devil's Lake State Park, fishing for Walleye, White Bass, Smallmouth Bass, free ferry boat, historical Portage, Wisconsin, more.
