About Dave Weber

I grew up and still live in Highland Park, IL and went to college in Wisconsin (UW-Eau Claire). We love to camp and fish and canoe and bike and hike! This area is perfect for that. Cheryl would only let me but a cottage to enjoy this area where I've fished my whole life if we could find a way to help it pay it's way. So we started renting it as a vacation home on VRBO and Homeaway and the rest is history. We love coming up and staying at our cottages (we also now own a smaller cottage next door, called Quietwater Cottage)!

Dave Weber purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Dave Weber chose Lake Wisconsin

I have fished and enjoyed this beautiful area since I was a boy. We purchased this cottage to enjoy and share with others who want great memories. It is next door to our other cottage, Quietwater Cottage, which is a little smaller but equally nice.

What makes this cottage unique

The open layout this cottage with the great views of the water and islands sold us on this wonderful getaway! We loved the big deck on the water side and the gently sloping yard to the water. It's close to so many fun things to do. We provide a canoe and rowboat for our guests and shallow water in front make it easy to get out on the water and enjoy the beauty of the river and sandy islands.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My husband my 4 children and myself really had a great time at the cottage. It was a very relaxing week. The cottage is very well kept and stocked. It was great to meet you Dave and be able to put a face to the voice I spoke to so many times to arrange our week. I cant say enough good things about the cottage and the people. We had a great time and look forward to returning soon for a weekend together.

Nice family vacation home

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful views of river included magnificent bird-watching and gorgeous sunsets. The kids loved the nearby park and use of the canoe and rowboat were huge hits. A very relaxing retreat that provided all the necessary modern conveniences. The mosquitos were certainly voracious but the bug spray seemed to tame them a bit. The wine and flowers upon arrival were appreciated as well! Would definately return under the same circumstances.

Tooooo little time !!!!

  • 4 of 5

It was like being at home. The only thing we disliked, was we the fact that we did have to go back to our real home. Seriously the only thing you need to bring is FOOD,and beach towels. The cottage is supplied with everything else.

Good times, memories and relaxation.

Realizing and peaceful cottage on the water

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we opened the front door and saw the expansive view from the 3 sets of patio doors showing the view of the water with the geese swimming by we knew we were in the right place. The owners thought of everything when it came to the amenities including the hot tub and sauna on the deck.

Location is in a quaint community. Whether bicycling or walking is your interest.

Best of all we could bring our furry friend.🐶𝠊We hope to return ....soon.

Thanks for a memorable stay.

Comfortable, cozy cottage!

  • 5 of 5

When we walked in to the cottage, I knew we had chosen the right place. The light was on, and music was playing to welcome us in. The curtains were open, showcasing the terrific view that kept us enthralled all weekend. The owners really paid attention to details, such as pointing the swinging chair toward the sunset, plenty of towels, a book that's been kept and updated showing things to do, places to go, events, and other items of interest in the area. There were movies, magazines, books, and puzzles to relax with. The beds and furniture were comfortable, and everything smelled clean. There was also a nice sized television, which I know my husband appreciated. This is a great location, near Madison and the Dells, and some other small towns. We really loved our time here, and hope to return again someday.

Five paws!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you, Dave, for sharing your beautiful home with us. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine (delicious!) and immediately felt right at home. It was snowing when we arrived, so we didn't want to venture very far and had dinner at the Thirsty Moose. It was bar food but the atmosphere is fantastic - you feel like you're among friends as soon as you walk in the door.

We came back to sit in the hot tub and watch a movie.

Saturday, we walked the dogs down the country road just to the west of the house. After breakfast, we went to the open house at Wollersheim Winery (this is a MUST destination!) You should promote your cabin as a place to stay during the open house. We sampled brandy, gin, port wine, riesling, and learned about the operation of their winery/distillery.

More hot tubbing, more wine! It was a great weekend, and we can't wait to come back! Ike loved to run in your yard and dip his paws in the water. Thanks again. Ellen.

Lovely accommodation and location

  • 5 of 5

Island View was everything it was described as on the Home Away ad. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a cozy decor complete with lovely holiday trimmings and a bottle of wine appropriate for our New Years get away week end. The view from the deck revealed the beauty of its woodsy location on Lake Wisconsin and the cottage was equipped with every amenity from a rice cooker to wifi. Being able to bring my dogs along on our trip was another huge plus because I didn't have to find a dog walker over the busy holidays. We highly recommend Island View to anyone looking for a change of pace and scenery from the busy city life.
