This 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 2-story cottage has a bright, clean kitchen and a wonderful open layout on the first floor. Beautiful views out the large living room windows look onto green, sandy islands and the undeveloped distant shores of the Wisconsin River as it opens up into Lake WI. Explore the many channels, sandbars, and islands of the WI River and Lake WI. Two-person sauna on deck with great view of river and hills.
SPRING, SUMMER, and FALL Adventures! Green trees, sunny sand-bars, and a lazy river await you. Tucked off the main channel the cottage has the best of both worlds…easy assess to the big water, a great view of the water and sunsets, but little boat traffic. Because of our shallow waterfront location, the choice is yours, launch your boat at one of 3 nearby boat launchs and head left for Lake Wisconsin or go right for the Wisconsin River. You’ve got it all right here! You can launch your boat daily and spend an exciting day on the open water of the lake (too shallow to get a boat of any size into our channel but you can park your trailer in front at the end of the day) or a quiet day exploring the Dells-like bluffs and the nearby islands, coves, and backwaters in your canoe or kayak. The shallow water in front is perfect for kayaks and canoes.
Enjoy shallow water fishing from the pier or while wading or head out in a boat to hit several of the best local fishing spots all within 5 minutes of the cottage: The Narrows, Fockes Bluffs, and Camp Rest Park. Good fishing for Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, White Bass, Catfish, Largemouth, Crappie and more.
The cottage has a green lawn for yard games or for kids to run around in, plus just a block away is a park with playground equipment and wading beach, perfect for small children and dogs. Tennis and basketball courts are just a mile up the road. Bike riding opportunities on winding country roads in the area are fantastic. Up for a challenge? Circle Lake Wisconsin on your bike, it's about a 50-60 mile trip with a free ferryboat crossing as a highlight!
This two bedroom, two bathroom house has a full kitchen and an open layout. The kitchen is equipped with all you’ll need to prepare any meal you like…or grill out on waterside deck on the gas grill! Feeling lazy? Kick back and enjoy the 42” flat screen LCD HDTV or enjoy the hot tub which seats up to six people, so...relax, sip a drink, even surf the web, and watch the river go by!
Beautiful views out the large living room windows and across the 16’x25’ deck look onto green, sandy islands and the undeveloped distant shores of the Wisconsin River as it opens up into Lake Wisconsin.

I grew up and still live in Highland Park, IL and went to college in Wisconsin (UW-Eau Claire). We love to camp and fish and canoe and bike and hike! This area is perfect for that. Cheryl would only let me but a cottage to enjoy this area where I've fished my whole life if we could find a way to help it pay it's way. So we started renting it as a vacation home on VRBO and Homeaway and the rest is history. We love coming up and staying at our cottages (we also now own a smaller cottage next door, called Quietwater Cottage)!
Dave Weber purchased this cottage in 2006
I have fished and enjoyed this beautiful area since I was a boy. We purchased this cottage to enjoy and share with others who want great memories. It is next door to our other cottage, Quietwater Cottage, which is a little smaller but equally nice.
The open layout this cottage with the great views of the water and islands sold us on this wonderful getaway! We loved the big deck on the water side and the gently sloping yard to the water. It's close to so many fun things to do. We provide a canoe and rowboat for our guests and shallow water in front make it easy to get out on the water and enjoy the beauty of the river and sandy islands.
My husband my 4 children and myself really had a great time at the cottage. It was a very relaxing week. The cottage is very well kept and stocked. It was great to meet you Dave and be able to put a face to the voice I spoke to so many times to arrange our week. I cant say enough good things about the cottage and the people. We had a great time and look forward to returning soon for a weekend together.
Beautiful views of river included magnificent bird-watching and gorgeous sunsets. The kids loved the nearby park and use of the canoe and rowboat were huge hits. A very relaxing retreat that provided all the necessary modern conveniences. The mosquitos were certainly voracious but the bug spray seemed to tame them a bit. The wine and flowers upon arrival were appreciated as well! Would definately return under the same circumstances.
We had a wonderful anniversary weekend at Island View. The kitchen was well stocked with all we needed to cook our meals. We spent the days hiking in Devil's Lake State Park and Governor Dodge State Park, tasted wine at Rock N' Wool, and Wollersheim, and relaxed on the deck, pier, and hot tub in the evening. Due to a miscommunication on my part, we had the opportunity to also stay at Dave's neighboring property, Quietwater. It was smaller, and the living room furniture not as comfortable (my only complaint), but suited us just fine, as well. Dave was extremely understanding of my mistake, and made this vacation a great one for us. We hope to return in the future.
This was our fifth year at the cabin and it continues to be a perfect girls weekend get-away. Cozy, clean, and comfortable. Thanks for an excellent weekend!!
Quaint, serene, picturesque view of the river and changing colors of fall. We enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the river and amenities of a fully stocked kitchen, including a complimentary bottle of wine and welcome note when we arrived. Cabin is very well maintained and cozy decor makes you feel like you're staying in a friends place! We are already thinking about planning our next weekend getaway. Loved it!!!!!
We drove up to the pretty cabin and couldn't wait to begin our vacation. The cabin was clean and sizeable and the owners really did think of everything to help us feel at home. The view from the deck was beautiful and the hot tub was huge and very welcoming. The only downside to the stay was very shallow water near the cabin, making use of the rowboat impossible. We were able to use the canoe, but even that dragged a bit until we were able to get to deeper water. Also, we really wanted to try the Thirsty Moose for dinner but it was closed for a few weeks. Instead, we went to the Owl's Nest. It was okay, but we were a bit disappointed that they didn't serve fresh fish. All frozen. I guess we just figured with all the excellent fishing in the area, we would find a place with fresh fish. The area was otherwise very pretty with friendly locals who waved and smiled when they passed us walking the dogs. If it would've allowed me to rate half stars I would've given the place 4 and 1/2 stars. It was that close to perfect. It was just what the doctor ordered for a peaceful and beautiful get away.
The lake cottage was in perfect condition and provided a perfect setting for this scenic getaway. This week lived up to all our expectations.
Beautiful waterfront area, home to Sand Hill Cranes, White Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, Pleated Woodpeckers, and more. Good kayaking and canoeing on the Wisconsin River or boating on Lake Wisconsin. Water too shallow at pier for larger boats, but 3 launches within 2 miles. Many nearby attractions including the Wisconsin Dells, Devil's Lake State Park, fishing for Walleye, White Bass, Smallmouth Bass, free ferry boat, historical Portage, Wisconsin, more.
