Wendy was very communicative, providing all the information, and available for any additional inquiries. The house was perfect for our family. There was so much attention given to every little detailed. We felt instantly at home! We would definitely love to go back and highly recommend it to anyone seeking serenity.
We sure did find a gem with this house! Before we arrived I spoke with Wendy on the phone, she was so incredibly helpful answering all of my questions and sharing great information with us about things to do in the area. We can't say enough wonderful things about this house. We had a large party of 10 and we fit comfortably in the home. It was spotless when we arrived and was stocked with everything from kitchen supplies, linens, towels, beach toys, beach chairs and cleaning supplies...this helped us out a whole lot because it was so much less that we had to bring with us. We enjoyed sitting out on the back deck and having a great view of the lake and also cooking s'mores on the fire pit in the backyard. We even had a chance to hear a little bit of music from the camp across the way.
As far as location the house is a really easy and quick walk down to the beach. We had young children with us (ages 3-9) and this was a perfect beach for them. Even though it is a town beach it was not crowded, it was staffed with a lifeguard and the swimming area was lovely because it had a sandy bottom and was roped off. We loved that the lake was quiet and peaceful. The home is also only about 10-15 minutes away from Lake George so we did head up there for a day but were happy to return to Lake Luzerne which was much more quaint. There are other things close by such as the Painted Rodeo which we loved and also Tubby Tubes (would definitely recommend as well). We could also easily take the kids to mini golf and ice cream right down the road. And it is a great place to run/walk/bike as it is 3 miles around Lake Luzerne.
Hopefully we will be able to make it back again next year to this wonderful home away from home!
Nice house on the lake. Nice view of the lake. House has all of the amenities. Nice quiet area close to Lake George, Six Flags, outlets etc.
Great place, really big for our big party. Everything was privided and clean, kids had tons of fun at beach and kayaking.
10/10 would go again.
What a beautiful place! The listing was spot on and the place was so easy to find. It's a short walk to the lake but the best thing is you can view the lake right from the cottage from the windows or you can sit out on the large deck as well. The back yard has a nice little firepit to enjoy in the evenings while you take in those beautiful summer nights.
Everything is well maintained and very clean. If you have any issues all you have to do is call the owner and she is just a phone call away and is very accommodating.
It's a perfect cottage for families with the various bedrooms and bathrooms and the various items they have available for activities.
This was my third time at the cottage and everytime I've been there I enjoyed my stay. It's a perfect 'home away from home'.
I would definitely recommend this property to anyone. I have plans to return there again myself.
This place was a great find! We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation on Lake Luzerne. The house was just as it was pictured and described. Wendy was very hospitable and accommodating. She came right away when I had to call her about a couple of things. The place was very clean and well kept. The kitchen itself was small, but all 9 of us were able to function by using the kitchen table as a work space. We kept most of our dry foods in the plastic bins that we brought them in. There was plenty of extra space in the dining room and living room (just off the kitchen) so everything was very accessible and also easier to pack up when we left. We ended up purchasing some foil pans, which worked fine, since the kitchen itself did not have exactly what we needed for a few meals. Therefore, if you need any special type of pans, you may want to do the same or bring your own. Otherwise, we had plenty of dishes, silverware, pots, etc. for our cooking needs.
The canoe and kayaks were great! Access to the lake and beach was just down the hill. A hose was outside the porch so we could spray off before entering the house.
The internet service was great. My one son had to work remotely for a couple of days while there and there were no gliches. We found cell phone service spotty as Wendy had said, but outside the house we were good to use our phones (we have a combination of verizon and AT & T).
Shopping and other available activities were close by. We went mini-golfing, played laser tag, used go carts, saw fireworks on Lake George, went out to eat, saw a movie in the theater and at home. A great place to vacation!
Our family had a wonderful week at this house. The location was spectacular and the house was exceptionally clean. The canoe and 2 kayaks were a fun addition especially for my grandchildren. Fishing was a nice surprise with plenty of bass and pickerel just across from our beach. We also enjoyed the music from the camp across the lake. Would definitely come back.
