The artist's study between the hills and the sea

Bedrooms 1
Space 753 sq. ft.
Property type chateau / country house
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

Panoramic mountain penthouse at 1 km from the sea.

Once in Milianni, a handful of houses in front of the Tyrrhenian Sea, winds up a hilltop that crosses the Tardara nature park and leads to our home.

Immersed among the olive trees and the chanting of the cicadas, the façade is made, made of marine stones and mosaics of artistically arranged multicolour glasses. Two carved stone dogs are guarding the entrance, the old wooden door opening onto one of the highlights of the house: a loft from the large windows that continues in the large outdoor terrace, offering exceptional views of the sea and the islands Aeolian.

The entire apartment is organized around this view, which overlook the kitchen and the bedroom.

The paintings and small works of mosaic of the owner and artist create a unique atmosphere and give the measure of a true "art de vivre".

The property is only one kilometer from the sea (15 minutes on foot) and only 15 km from the historic city of Cefalu.

Both the entire villa and individual apartments are rented; in both solutions access to and use of the garden is included. The announcement refers to the upper floor. If you wish to book the entire cottage, contact the owner

Machine required:

Since the last part of the road, (about 1 km) is a partly unpaved country lane, we recommend a high car from the ground like a Fiat Panda or any Station Wagon.

Wi-Fi connection:

Perfect for everyday use but unsuitable for streaming. If you need high volumes of consumption we recommend a private subscription.

Extra charges: check-in after 7p. m. : 50 euros

Amazingly relaxing setting with star-filled sky

  • 5 of 5

We had a peaceful and beautiful time in this lovely rural setting. Most of our time was spent on the spacious deck, looking out over the sea and breathing in the fresh air. The apartment was roomy, with all the equipment and utensils needed to enjoy our very own home-cooked pasta dinner. The host was welcoming; meeting her near "the yellow and green house" in Milianni was an experience out of an adventure story. She was also very helpful, showing us where to buy food for our stay and pointing out some places of interest. The setting itself is ideal for anyone seeking peace and quiet or even a brief respite from crowds and tourist activity. Special indeed was the star-filled sky at night, a sight usually available to us only at the planetarium!

Thanks for a peace-inducing stay.

Beautiful, natural, calm, idyllic, PERFECT

  • 5 of 5

Gianni's home was the perfect place to spend a holiday. He and Emanuela were so helpful with correspondence and showing us around. We stayed 4 of us in the downstairs apartment, and loved the space, with all the artistic touches added by the owner himself! Not to mention the outstanding view: we watched the sun set every evening with a glass of prosecco and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more.

We could choose whether to be calm and lazy in the hammock or explore the wonderful surrounding beaches and towns of Finale and Cefalu', and we even took a day-trip to Palermo without issue. The neighbours were very kind and gave us sweet lemons and fresh almonds to eat and herbs from their garden, you couldn't ask for a better experience of the natural beauty and kindness of Sicily. The outdoor kitchen was my favourite – a place to prepare the enormous seafood feasts that we'd bought from the market! The produce that we bought and cooked was unparalleled to what I've ever had before. We also ate an outstanding meal at Osteria Bacchus in Sant'Ambrogio at Gianni's recommendation.

This was probably the best holiday I've ever had. I can't recommend it enough – it will make you fall in love with Sicily if you aren't already!

perfect location, great property!

  • 5 of 5

What I found here was far beyond my expectations. I wanted a cosy and nice place to stay in Sicily, not too far from facilities but still quiet and not overcrowded. I arrived with my boyfriend in Finale di Pollina where the Owner welcomed us and took us to the property - a stunning, perfect, clean, well maintained house in the middle of a natural park just 5 mins from town center, beaches, restaurants and everything you need. The Owner was really helpful, he explained us everything we needed to know about the house. Stunning view of the landscape, perfect balcony for an outside dinner with the sea in front of you - so far and so close at the same time. I would not recommend this place to everyone - just to those who can handle the beauty of this place!!

Heerlijk appartement met prachtig uitzicht!

  • 5 of 5

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf in het gezellige atelier met fantastisch uitzicht op zee. Een fijne en rustige omgeving en het appartement was voor ons drieën een knus verblijf, heerlijk terras en mooie uitgangspositie naar de omgeving..

erholsamer Urlaubmit viel kultur

  • 4 of 5

Lovely house in the mountains

  • 4 of 5

Me and my boyfriend stayed in Gianni's and Emanuela's house for one week and had a great time! Even after flight delay of ~8hours Gianni was at the house to welcome us to Sicilia and equip us with the necessary things. Both, Gianni and Emanuela were always available if we had questions or problems.

The house looks is surrounded by a lot of olive trees and is funished very quaint. The view from the balcony is amazing and looks like the pictures show.

The house is a great place to relax, laze and have a great time at Sicilia!

Thank you for your help and the relaxed stay at Sicilia!

Our house is located in the middle of the Natural Park of Tardara, and therefore is surrounded by nature, and close to the sea (1km). Its position, on the top of a hill, allows a panoramic view of the sea, the coast, the woods and the mountains around, and on the Aeolian islands.

In the immediate vicinity there are ancient villages rich in architecture and works of art such as Cefalù (15 km), a beautiful UNESCO-listed port village.

In Tusa (3km) lies the Fiumara D'Arte Foundation, an innovative experiment in contemporary art that offers a unique symbiosis between art and the surrounding nature in a journey that will take you from the sea to the Nebrodi park.

At 10 km from the house there are the Gole del Tiberio, an enchanting natural gorge inserted by UNESCO among the Geoparknetwork sites.

A 30 minute drive, the beautiful Romanesque villages of the Madonie: Castelbuono, Polizzi Generosa, Gangi, Petralia etc ..

The stone, pebble and sand beaches overlook the Tyrrhenian sea, with its blue waters, facing the Aeolian islands. The ferry to the islands can be taken in Cefalù or Milazzo (40 km), and visiting them is truly a wonderful experience, they are all of volcanic origin, some volcanoes are in activity. Etna is about 100 km of good motorway, and anyway from our house every side of the island can be reached in about 2 hours by highway. So it will be easy to get to Syracuse, to the south, to Taormina, to the east, to Trapani, to the west, to Agrigento with its extraordinary Greek temples, to the beautiful Palermo with its treasures ......
