Welcome to Seashore Cottage, your home away from home on Prince Edward Island. Seashore Cottage has earned a 4-Star Rating from PEI's Canada Select accommodation rating system.

Our guests describe it best... 'Beautifully decorated cottage with an open and spacious floor plan, plenty of sleeping space, fantastic screened in porch, and cozy fireplace. Kitchen and eat at bar excellent for lobster and martini preparation. Big gorgeous sky with the most memorable sunsets you’ll ever see. Peaceful red-sand beaches and beautiful waters made for great morning runs and afternoon swims. Especially loved watching the kids dig in the sand and splash in the water. The Seashore Cottage made for a fantastic way to disconnect from work and reconnect with family and friends. I can’t imagine a better place in PEI!'

Beautiful Place. But its For Sale

  • 3 of 5

Comfortable cottage, with screened in porch overlooking the ocean. Beautiful views from the cottage. The cottage is located in a wonderful area of the island.

Cottage itself is nice but could be better maintained. The appliances have aged with yellowing on the fridge, a painted dryer that is not connected properly and sets off the fire alarm. The bath tub is now a vision of rust. Paint is peeling. It's a beautiful place but needs some TLC.

The cottage is for sale and with that came the intrusions. Cars stopped to look at the cottage at night. A mid-week showing was an intrusion.

Vehicle traffic on the beach consumed any enjoyable space in front of the cottage. This was due to a road closure in town. A walk on the beach was always welcome but it would have been nice to enjoy the beach by the cottage.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the comments. We love the place too. We really enjoy hearing from our renters and have taken steps to directly address the few observations mentioned in the review (we’ve chatted with our local caretakers and a new fridge is on its way!) so that Seashore Cottage remains one of the most comfortable and beautiful destinations on the island. Thanks again.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at Seashore Cottage for quite a few summers now and have loved it every time I've gone. The beach has beautiful red sand and plenty of sea glass and shells, ideal for long walks. The cottage is thoroughly stocked with little things that really made a difference in making my time there feel like I haven't left the convenience of home. There are lots of beach toys and floaties, movies and even 2 of those personal DVD players for kids, a tent. Inflatable kayak and anchor and life jackets. Bikes and helmets. Spices. We were able to make delicious lobster dinners with fresh lobster caught that day. There are two cots with sleeping bags for the screened-in porch, and the kids sleep out there every night it's not raining. It's a great place to go for a family that wants to spend time together.

We would go back in a second!!!

  • 5 of 5

What a warm cozy cottage, loved the whole layout. Roomy yet cozy. The view was wonderful, especially while showering in the outdoor shower! Waking up in the morning and having coffee on the enclosed deck over-looking the ocean was so peaceful. Really enjoyed the beachfront with the soft sand and room to just lounge with a cocktail while closing your eyes and listening to the waves. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway. The pictures don't even do it justice.

A Great Place to Relax and Renew

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to unwind! Barb, the local representative was so helpful and we totally enjoyed the lobsters that were delivered to our door. To say this cottage is well equipped is a definite understatement. The pictures did not do the property justice. If we were designing a getaway home we would duplicate the Seashore Cottage. The porch is wonderful. The beach was beautiful and quiet. For the two of us, it was perfect, but I can imagine how great it would be for a family to come and reconnect. I would definitely recommend Seashore Cottage to anyone who wants to get away from the hectic lifestyles we live.

Best place to stay on PEI

  • 5 of 5

When we are planning our annual vacation to PEI, we always check Seashore Cottage first, to see if it is available. We have stayed in several PEI rental properties in the last few years and our family favorite is Seashore Cottage. We just enjoyed another great stay in September. This cottage feels like home to us. The cottage is clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The new outdoor shower is great for rinsing off sand from the beach. The beach is close and easily accessible. This is really important to me because I have small children. I know it is hard choosing a vacation home from online pictures. But this home is just what you see online. TGreat! Great! Great!

Impressive, relaxing & great location

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seashore Cottage. We were so impressed with how clean it was and that it really was exactly like the pictures that were on the internet. We were pleasantly surprised by how well equipped the cottage was for cooking, playing games and entertaining. They even have a craft trunk full of assorted supplies.

The furniture was comfortable and provided a great place to sit, read a book and enjoy the fire in the fireplace.

The outside areas allowed us plenty of time in the fresh air to eat, talk and enjoy the ocean view. We blew bubbles like kids and flew kites on the front yard; the up draft from the water made it the perfect spot to do this with very little effort on our part. The ramp to the ocean is very safe and allowed our parents to access the shoreline for many beach walks regardless of whether it was high or low tide. (My Dad is 92 and my Mom 84). Beach combing is a passion in our family and we walked the beach many times a day finding great treasures such as sea glass, “pink” sand dollars, buoys and shells.

The people in the area during our drives were very friendly. There was a lot to do and much to see from little fishing marinas, farming, golfing and many different artisans who showed us their work. We were impressed with the MacAuslands wool mill just a short drive away, where we got to see how they processed the wool from beginning to end the old way. On Wednesday evening we drove to the corner of O’Leary Road and Western Road (Hwy 2) to enjoy some Island music at St. Luke’s Kitchen Party. It was great.

We had a wonderful experience and will be planning for another visit and stay at the cottage in the future
