‘The Comfort of Home, the Luxury of an Island Resort’

This is our personal home located across the street from the beach! With our main living space on the 2nd floor, we have nice views of the ocean from the dining room, kitchen, screen porch, and rooftop deck. We had an interior designer work with us to purchase upscale furnishing, fabrics, and paint colors. Our home has 4-bedrooms and 3-baths which can accommodate up to 12 people. We have 3 expansive decks including a large screen porch. The built-in seating on our rooftop deck provides an ideal place for taking in a sunrise or sunset. We have an in-ground upscale private pool surrounded by a lush tropical landscape. Our fully equipped outdoor kitchen in our poolside cabana includes a large Jenn-Air gas grill, sink with both hot and cold water, a full refrigerator/freezer, along with a TV and a stereo that you can stream.

We have a 58” flat screen HD TV and 32' flat screen smart TV's in every bedroom. We have wireless internet throughout the house and even poolside.

With beach access almost directly in front of our home, we provide beach buggies for you to carry your things to and from the beach.

Also, if you are a clean freak, we do not using a cleaning service…we have a personal housekeeper who is meticulous. We have had wonderful feedback on how clean our home is when our guests arrive.

Only blocks away we have jet skis rentals, boat rentals, fishing charters or scenic wildlife excursions. You are only 20 minutes from Historic Charleston with its old world charm, gourmet dining, historic plantations and trendy boutiques. Because we live here, we provide our renters with a list of our favorite restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the island, in Mount Pleasant, and in Charleston. We also provide a list of golf courses in and around the area.

Our private tropical oasis will make for a splendid vacation experience! If you are looking for an warm and invting home with many unique features, you will love our home.

Casual luxury Is the Best

I have stayed in this rental more than once, and always hope it will be available when I am on IOP. The house is grand from the street view, but even more impressive inside. The decor strikes a midpoint between modern and traditional - chic, but comfortable. I like the upside down layout with living,dining and kitchen upstairs to take advantage of the view. Multiple porches, patios and a widows walk allow you to catch the views , the breezes and the sunset or rise as conditions dictate.

The heated pool is another luxury if you're at the beach when the ocean is a little too cool. The downstairs master is ocean facing and my favorite of the two masters. I've stayed in a lot of rentals and there are usually trade offs, but this house and location are both stellar. I'm spoiled now.

Perfect location for a beach vacation!

We just returned from a great vacation experience and this rental house played a large role in that experience. It was the first time in a long time our extended family took a trip together. We had 12 people including kids ages 1, 4, 7, 8, 12, and one 70+ grandmother. This house met the needs of everyone. #1 Location to the beach was great! It was so close(5 minute walk to the water) you could go for a few hours then come back for lunch and head back again. You didn't feel like you needed to bring everything with you that you might need for the day. #2 Pool was perfect size. Shallower along the sides so our 4 year old could stand but big enough and deep enough that the adults enjoyed the pool as well. All the outdoor space was great, plenty of lounge chairs and space for everyone to hang out and not feel cramped. The privacy of the backyard was also very nice. #3 Inside of the house was set up great. Bedrooms and bathrooms big enough with a very large an open dining room, living room, kitchen area. These areas were also surrounded by large balconies some screened in for dining. This is were we spent most of our time when indoors and there was more than enough seating and room for our group. #4 Proximity to the grocery store, restaurants and golf was great. Never more than a 5 minute drive to anything you needed. We didn't do much in Charleston as we stayed mostly at the beach and pool but it is less than 30 minutes from the house. I have seen some negative comments about the condition of the house and all I can say is that it is a house that has a new family in it every week not a luxury hotel with a large maintenance staff. While some things were worn, it was never a problem and the owner was very responsive to any issues. In my opinion renting a house like this for a large group is far superior to having to rent multiple hotel rooms or condos. The communal space can't be beat. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Amazing Place!

This home is in a great location and 20 minutes from Charleston! It was the perfect getaway for a friend's weekend and we had plenty of room for 7. The home was spacious, spotless, amazing outdoor area for entertaining; heated pool, grill, music! Very nice, comfy mattresses and high-end sheets in the rooms, huge decks, excellent views. The owners were amazing and very responsive! I highly recommend this place.

Lovely home - family friendly!

We had a wonderful vacation week at this home - it is beautifully laid out, and had plenty of space for our family of 8 adults and 2 young children. Beautiful views from inside the house and on the decks of the ocean. The pool area is great - especially during the hot days in July when it's almost too hot to be on the beach - which, by the way, is only a short walk from this home. This area of the beach is also very nice.

I would recommend this home without a moment's hesitation, and David, the owner is is very nice to work with.

Good location, Ok House

We had mixed reviews on this home, there were some good/bad things. The owner was responsive initially and provided detailed information about the house, which was helpful with our decision. When we were approaching our arrival date, we had to reach out for specifics on entry to the house, etc. vs. him providing this information. Upon arrival, we were happy with the proximity of house to the beach (3 min walk), but the traffic is very heavy, so if you're looking for a quiet location, this isn't it. When sitting outside on one of the decks, it's difficult to hear conversations because of the traffic noise (extending well into the evening). Another complaint is that the owner had very strict guidelines on care for the house (i.e. don't move furniture to make sure floors aren't scratched). The expectations were much higher than any other rental we had been in, so we assumed that the place must be in great condition. However, this wasn't the case. The floors (especially upstairs) had scratches all over the place, so we didn't understand the lofty expectations. The kitchen was very outdated. The slider (off the kitchen) barely worked and was extremely difficult to open (we had to open/close it for the kids). But the screened in porch was very nice (other than the road noise) Mostly everyone complained that the beds were uncomfortable. The pullout bed in the 1st floor master (off entry) wasn't even sleepable for my son, so don't count on using that. The backyard was beautiful and private (lush vegetation all around). Loved the bar area w/ tv. However, I would recommend installing a bottle opener on the bar so people can drink some beers without having to remember to bring down the opener from the kitchen. However, the pool doesn't have a functional filtering system as there was constantly debris in the pool that we had to remove. Also, the pool heater broke during our stay, which made the water cold until fixed. The house came with some beach accessory items (i.e. cart) that came in handy when going to the beach. A few good restaurants nearby, mostly had to leave island. Overall, the house was underwhelming due to it's outdated nature (pictures look better than reality), the amount of road noise coming from the busy street (not to mention people park in the front yard everyday), and the lack of comfort in the beds and other furniture in the house. At least we didn't have to pay summer rates, otherwise, I really would have been upset.

Owner's Response: It is disappointing when our guests are not 100% satisfied. Regarding the check-in information, because we try to change the lock code after each renter, I let everyone know that they will not receive the check-in information with their key code until the week of their arrival. I reviewed this with Rachel on our initial conversation and have this noted on the email correspondence when final payment was received. I also let everyone know they can always reach me regarding anything at any time and I provide everyone with my personal cell phone number. Regarding the "strict" guidelines...because we have gotten scratches on our Heart of Pine floors, we send everyone some general guidelines simply asking our guests to be cognizant of things that can be easily damaged...moving furniture, etc. Regarding a bottle opener at the pool...We removed the bottle opener because we were finding shards of glass in the pool area. For safety, we would prefer there be no glass in the pool area. Regarding the pool...actually the pool has an excellent filtering system. I have a water oak tree that provides wonderful shade over one side of the pool area. Most of our renters appreciate having a section by the pool that has shade. With the wonderful ocean breezes, we do occasionally get leaves in the pool. I let everyone know they may need to skim the pool on occasion between our regular cleaning service every Tues and Sat. Regarding the pool heater, unfortunately things do break. We responded immediately and got the repair man out and fixed the heater immediately. Regarding our beds...I have to question the fact when someone tells me all the beds were uncomfortable, when I have never had a single complaint about any of our beds. Isle of Palms is a wonderful area with wonderful beaches. The city allows parking on both sides of the street for people visiting the beach during the day. There is a sidewalk and an entire bank of landscaping separating our property from the common area next to the street. No one parks in our front yard. We had the exterior of our home painted this year along with most of the interior. We put in two new high efficiency HVAC units that are whisper quiet and very comfortable. We purchased new outdoor furniture for the lower deck and just purchased all new pool lounge chairs. The heart of pine floors are scheduled to be refinished in the off season. We want our home to have a beach house feel yet with up to date charm.

Peaceful vacation

Why a wonderful time we had at Isle of Palms. This vacation home is beautifully spacious and accommodating for our family gathering. The layout of the house allowed a great flow for the family- front and back stairway have great access. The decks and screened in porches were nice for assorted family activities. The first week in April was still cool ,but we were able to enjoy the beautiful heated pool and backyard and outdoor kitchen. It iwas private and functional. We will definitely be back!!!
