We built our Log Home and moved to Saddleback Lake in June of 1995 and spent two glorious years cementing our love for everything Rangeley, Maine. Our three kids are now in college and we rent our home to help with tuition bills.
We are fortunate to have one of the best rentals in all of Rangeley. If your family values peace and quiet and time on a quiet motor-free lake then please plan your vacation today.

Rangeley is a true 4-season resort area. One of the few places that has it all, mountains, lakes and forests. Wildlife abounds around Saddleback Lake and it is just the perfect place to spend some family time.
Your quintessential Maine experience.
We stayed for eight nights beginning Sept. 22, 2016. From the time we pulled down the private drive and saw the cabin setting and the lake we were all ecstatic. We were four adults in 50’s and 60s. The cabin is awesome. For days we were all enjoying and discovering the collection of your decorations and trinkets about the cabin. We even used the kitchen aid mixer to make icing for a birthday cake. There is a local IGA Supermarket we shopped at; very convenient. We picked from the garden on the property and made fried green tomatoes, squash and the beans we cooked up with the celery salt and spices on hand in the cabin were superb. We used the canoes, kayaks and the row boat from Saddleback Lake Lodge and the guys caught (first day out) a 16.5 inch trout. We had the entire lake to ourselves during the whole visit. Activities: Drove to Rangeley State Park and on the road into the park saw a moose, visited Coos Canyon, Height of Land, Smalls Falls, drove down Saddleback Mountain Road about 6:15 pm saw a moose in the middle of the road. Also, during our visit saw a red tail fox, loons, deer, turkeys, kingfishers, bald eagle and more. We never turned the TV on once. We played cards, star gazed, read, fished, fished and fished again. The Red Onion in town has delicious pizza; we ate in and took one to go. It was perfect! A big thank you to Chris and Betsy for sharing your wonderful home with us!
My family of 5 and 2 dogs stayed comfortably for a week in September. The weather was perfect and we were able to swim in the crystal clear lake, which was very warm and we encountered no leeches. We watched a bald eagle from the kayaks in saddleback lake, saw many moose on roads located all around the cabin, hiked up saddleback to rock pond where we found a nesting pair of Eagles, and relaxed. The cabin has everything you need and makes you feel like you have a private lake to yourself. This is our second stay to the loons call, and we can't wait to return.
We love coming to this home so much. Beautiful property and surrounding area, perfect for exploring. The views are like no other. The home itself is amazing and has just about everything you could possibly need. We will keep coming back as long as we can!
Excellent location and house. Careful attention to yard and vegetable garden. Great region for sightseeing.
My family and I stayed here during August and absolutely loved it! The house was beautiful, the yard was well landscaped and it was very private. It isn't too far from town, where there's a small grocery store and a charming little Main Street with cute shops and restaurants. The Rangeley area is gorgeous and this was a perfect place to enjoy it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
The house was great and located in a beautiful spot. Kids enjoyed all the amenities, from kayaks and canoes to games and stuffies. Loons, hummingbirds, frogs and more. Enjoyed several family hikes to bald mtn., cascade streams, smalls falls and included the AT as part of a father/son/dog hike from saddleback summit to the horn and back. Downtown has great shops and dining. Rented a pontoon boat for tubbing and sightseeing. We hope to visit again!
Note, Saddleback Lake is motor free - no motor boats, no snowmobiles on and around lake, But both are welcome on nearby lakes and trails. We are 10 Minutes From Saddleback Mountain! Ski to the XC trails right from our front yard. 50 minutes to Sugarloaf
