About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5)

This is the side of Kauai with the MOST SUN AND BEST WEATHER all year long. Kekaha beach is the LONGEST WHITE SAND BEACH in all of Hawaii. This natural, uncrowded beach stretches for more than 15 miles & offers swimming, surfing, boogie boarding and fishing. It's the best walking beach on the island and leads all the way to the cliffs of the NaPali coast. Just 2 blocks from our driveway is the road leading to WAIMEA CANYON. Two large grocery stores are 2 miles away. Minutes to the harbor to catch a sunset cruise along the famous NaPali coast. Watch the whales from the beach.

Custom constructed in 2000, this plantation style home is open and airy with SOARING CEILINGS, and is ONLY 200 FEET FROM THE OCEAN. The UPSCALE furnishings are from the collections of Tommy Bahama, Henry Link, and Delano and Seymour's Hawaiian House. There are many original art pieces of Hawaiian influence and island style. You'll find yourself spending most of your time outside on the 36 FOOT OCEAN SIDE LANAI! After a day at the beach, you can rinse off in the outdoor shower.

Within the large, private yard, are multitudes of flowering plants, as well as fruit trees such as orange, papaya, Pomegranate, lemon, avocado, mango, and lime. There is nothing like sitting on the Oceanside lanai, having a drink, and reaching for a lime from the tree while enjoying the changing colors of the sky as the sun sets over the ocean. The MASTER SUITE IS OCEAN SIDE with an OVER SIZED SHOWER FOR TWO. Two other bedrooms share a bath and a side lanai. The gourmet kitchen is a cook's dream. Enjoy meals at home with dining inside or out on the lanai as the sun sets on another beautiful day.

A short 25 minute ride to Poipu with it's upscale shopping and dining options. Fabulous snorkeling at Poipu Beach.

Warm friendly and inviting...

The west side in Kekaha is wonderful, filled with sunny days and starry nights. The house is well appointed and easy to relax in and call home for how ever long you stay. We had 5 weeks to stay and play and loved every moment. Yes you have to drive to other parts of the island but that's the beauty of this home, it's not far from anywhere and it's so great to come home to. Thanks again Scott for making our stay in paradise a time we won't soon forget.

That was the best vacation we've ever had. It was nonstop fun even when we weren't doing anything. We enjoyed your house very much. It was very well equipped and the neighbors were very nice. Rosy gave us a big sack of ripe mangos, and she would laugh and smile with full soul involvement. We ate stuff from the farmers market that I don't even know what it was. The whole community was involved in the 8th grade graduation. Very cool. I don't even know most of my neighbors here. Anyway, thanks again. We'll be back. GUESTS: Ginger & Gene

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Kauai. Your Hale Anuenue rental was perfect for us. We enjoyed staying on the west side of the island not just due to the weather but the interaction with the locals, especially Tony's family across the street. They were very friendly, and had only great things to say about you.

We loved the entire experience including the roosters, muddy hikes, swimming at Polihale Beach, Maha'ulepu Beach and the lithified cliffs, and all the spectacular views. We hiked so much we were not sure we would make it out the next day but the excitement of what Kauai has to offer always got us up early. Breakfast and dinner on the back porch was the best start and finish to EVERY day.

We have already started saving for our next trip - we still have a

long list of things to experience on the island. We will definitely

be contacting you. Thank you again for helping us make our Kauai vacation just perfect.

We all had the best time, just as you said we would. The weather was perfect. It only poured twice, once at night and once on the way to Poipu. But that day at Poipu, it cleared and we had a great time snorkeling at the beach 15 minutes later. No other rain, just as I had hoped.

We thought we'd hike but the beaches were simply too wonderful! The house was just perfect! The pictures on your web site don't do it justice!! Luckily we took some nice ones to help refresh our memories!

Yesley made a lei for me from the aromic white flowers in the yard. So beautiful and scented the house too! Thank you for making this vacation possible!

Everything you read and see here is spot on. We are trying to figure out how we can find our way back for even a longer period. You need absolutely nothing when you get there it is all there waiting for you. THANK YOU THANK YOU.... to Chad (and sarah) We will give this one 10 out of 10

* Thank you so much for providing such a lovely, well-appointed home. We had everything we needed and really couldn't have asked for a better home to relax in and enjoy Kauai. The decor, furnishings, bed linens, artwork, kitchenware, ocean accessories, etc., were so appreciated and useful. I came back home and told my husband, all of our kitchenware is basically 'crap' and we need to upgrade! You spoiled me!

We truly had a wonderful time and our 8-year-old daughter never wanted to leave. She fell head over heels in love with your backyard and we videotaped her saying goodbye (tears and all) to the back of the house. It was so pitifully sweet and quite heartbreaking. She keeps asking us why we choose to live in Kentucky when we could live in Kauai. Funny, if it weren't for career and family, I'd wonder the same thing.

Thank you again for the beautiful home and all that came with it. You have a very special place in Kauai and we hope to visit again soon.

* What an amazing sanctuary from the real world on the mainland. It was the vacation of a lifetime. Your Attention to detail and the thoughtfulness you provide your guests is unsurpassed. We truly admire your good will towards the the people that automatically become your extended family in your Hawaiian home. Thanks to your generosity, this vacation turned into a life changing experience. Beyond Mahalo! GUESTS FROM HOUSTON, TX

Why Chad Slayton chose Kauai

I previously had purchased on condo at Lae Nani on the East side. However, it became apparent that the traffic was becoming difficult to navigate all day. Also, being from the Northeast, I had seen enough rainy, cloudy weather. I wanted to be on the dry and sunny side with access to the best beach for walking, boogie boarding, surfing, and swimming. I found Kekaha Beach and loved the traditional Hawaii of the Westside, plus the Waimea Canyon is only steps away.

What makes this house unique

The mornings with a crystal clear cobalt blue sky. The cool nights and warm dry sunny days.

In 20 minutes I can be up in the canyon for a day of hiking and the sounds of nature. The close proximity to Polihale Beach is very special as is this wild beach with spectacular dunes and nature's own pool called Queen's Pond. You can eat out on the lanai almost every night without any bugs or strong tradewinds blowing in from the ocean. It is the best restaurant seat on the island!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had such a lovely stay at your beautiful Kekaha home! It was perfect for us. This was the 1st VRBO home we’ve rented where the home was superb compared to the pictures! We loved it- it was so clean, it had all the amenities of home plus more! We enjoyed every meal on the Lanai, even when it was very warm out. The master shower and outdoor shower were fantastic! Plus all the beach equipment, snorkeling, towels, kiddie toys…just great. But the Blue Ray player and new TV was out of this world. We only watched 20 minutes or so each evening before we retired, or fell asleep watching, but the picture was scary real! Lastly, Sarah was great. We had 2 phone calls to her and she was extremely prompt with our needs. Thank you for making our visit to Kauai so easy with a fantastic home to stay.

We’ll definitely recommend your home to others.

I have to say that staying at Hale Anuenue is one of

the nicest vacations we have ever had. The house

was beautifully appointed, very comfortable and

immaculate. Sitting on the lanai, as we did for

every meal the month we were there, was

sensational in the true sense of the word as we

were surrounded by flowers, birds, butterflies,

warm breezes with the sound of the ocean in the

background. Kekaha is the dry side of the island so

even if was raining elsewhere we were always

surrounded by sunlight and then beautiful sunsets

in the evening over the beach 2 blocks away. If it

hadn't already been booked I think we would have

tried to stay on all winter!

Best Get Away

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time at this house. Wonderful view of the ocean from the back porch. Close enough to the ocean that you could hear it all day & night. Just a short walk to get to the beach to see the sunsets. This home had everything we needed for the week. It was so comfortable to come back to this home after being out all day. I really loved the location, so different from the resort area's. I would gladly return if I ever had the chance.

Great Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Hale home for 1 week and totally loved it. It was so warm and inviting like we were in our own home. It was nice to come back to after a day out sightseeing. We enjoyed the porch and peaceful mornings. It was very relaxing and perfect weather when we were there in October. We would definitely do a VRBO again. It is a beautiful home!! It was a perfect memory of celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Have recommended this to other family members and friends!!

Exceeds all expectations!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Hale home for a week and we all agreed this was our best vacation ever. It was perfect for two couples. This was my first experience using VRBO and I will definitely go this route again for our next vacation. The home was beautiful and we would not hesitate to stay at the Hale home again. There were all of the extras included to make your stay easy, such as spices in the kitchen, beach towels and chairs, excellent laundry facilities and supplies. The attention to all of the details was appreciated. The location was perfect and we did not hear any street noise. While it rained on every other part of the island, we enjoyed perfect weather in Kekaha/Waimea. The porch is lovely with views of the ocean and relaxing sounds of the waves. Scott was very helpful and gave us great recommendations for the island activities. Our only complaint was that our vacation was too short!

Fabulous vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

Me, my Mother & Granddaughter take a "Girls Trip" every year and we selected this home on Kauai. Great choice...we would recommend this home to anyone that wants to relax in a peaceful home away with easy access to a beautiful beach, the Big Save Market grocery store, Waimea Canyon and great local places to eat. We traveled from this West coast location all the way around to the farthest Northern point in Hanalei during our 9 day stay. The home is equipped with anything and everything you might want or need. You will even find maps, sites to see, lists of restaurants and best beaches, which the beach across the street is truly the best and most private away from tourist crowd. Thank you Chad and Sarah! We'll be back with more family and are recommending to friends. 😎👍🏻❤️❤️❤️

Accurate accolades, all

Hale Annenue is a gem of which there relatively few in the sleepy frontier-like town of Kekaha. Stepping onto the covered porch, outfitted with a couple of cushioned lounge chairs, ottomans, small tables, and lamp, the vision of Oasis came to mind; walking over the threshold, our vision materialized. Dressed in lovely, comfy furniture sans slipcovers (my pet peeve among vacation rentals) I felt I'd already nested, and now I could reap the reward. We took long beach walks with waves washing over our toes; went sightseeing - Waimea Canyon; a day trip to Limahuli Botanical Gardens; and, kicked back, retirement style.

About the location: my brother lives three blocks from Hale Annenue; I noticed this perfect home last year while waiting for the little island bus back to Waimea where I was staying. A non-driver, proximity to public transportation is imperative to me. The Kaua'i Bus also serves the Lihue Airport.

Sarah, a phone call away, quickly responded when we had questions

Tomorrow we return to the Northwest, but we have found our hale in Kekaha and until next year, Aloha `oe!
