We grew up in northern NY skiing Whiteface as kids, we stuck around the area for college at Clarkson and Elmira, then moved out west to ski Colorado for 5 winters!! Upon moving back east, we found Jay Peak and decided it was the best place in the East!
Owner/Manager purchased this condo in 2006
This place has the most direct access to ski in ski out and walking to all of the resort amenities. You are a 2 minute walk to everything on Tramside, including the new Water Park and Ice Arena, Restaurants and Bars, Coffee shop, Retail Shop.
This place is very nice inside, we have gone through just about the entire place with a major full renovation. Most recently, we installed a new high end custom rustic alder kitchen with granite counter tops. Without a doubt, one of the nicest kitchens on the mountain!!
An awesome feature is watching the tram go up and down and all the skiers ski down Queens Highway from the windows and slider in the back of the unit. Really motivates you to get out there early for the fresh tracks!
***Also, watch the groomers preparing the trails for you in the evening with the lights 30' outside the windows going by on the trails!!
Our stay at this slopeside condo was wonderful! The owners were great - very easy to get in touch with and helpful in getting us set up when we arrived. The location was incredible - a two minute walk to the main tram base and waterpark - and it was right on the slopes. The condo had an updated kitchen with granite countertops, wood floors, and stainless steel appliances, and the bathroom had been updated in the same fashion. The condo was very clean, with nice linens and comfortable beds. There was a great view of the mountain from the living room. We would definitely stay here again!
Title says it all.
This unit faces the rear of the new main hotel w/waterpark, to which you walk about 200 yards across a gravel parking lot and down a hill. This puts you at the pool/hot tub/Foundry restaurant, with the provisions store just down from there. Great location, and owners Scott and Tracy were very friendly and helpful.
The Slopeside condos, with this most prime location, are also the oldest condos in the resort, and it shows. This one has a nicely re-done kitchen, which we really liked. The bathroom was also reasonably updated. Other than that, it felt rather old and run down. The carpet needs replacement, the laundry equipment did not work very well (even 2 cycles in the dryer won't dry a small load of towels), the slider was mis-aligned and could not be locked, and the furniture was pretty tired. TV in the bedroom turned on but had no signal. The living room TV had lots of channels, and the wi-fi was good, but the electrical outlet it was all plugged into was loose and badly connected, and the weight of all the plugs would interrupt power to the TV and wi-fi, which was a pain. It's the little things in life, like properly installed electrical outlets. Typical for this place - some good, followed closely by some not so good.
Kitchen was well-stocked with cookware & glasses & etc, but there wasn't even salt & pepper. It's like an island - if you don't bring it, it's not here - even the salt & pepper. A few staples would be nice.
Bedding and towels were clean and in good shape, mattress was very comfy. But the carpet had not been vacuumed, and the whole place was so musty and stuffy, it was like nobody had been there in 6 months. There was a vacuum (and an iron), but...we have to vacuum it, and we paid a big cleaning fee? And it was after we had all the windows open to air it out that we realized...there is no air conditioning! No A/C. In fact, none of the Jay Peak condos have it. Is that ok? No, absolutely not! It was not mentioned anywhere, and it should be.
This condo, being privately owned, did not have daily service like the resort-owned condos have, and at this price, it was sorely missed. With fees and taxes, we paid about $350/night, and granted it's a 2-BR, but...all things considered, it felt overpriced.
We had just come from 4 nights of 4 and 5 star hotels in Toronto and Montreal - nice, modern places that needed no excuses. This place was 3 stars - acceptable, but it won't blow your mind.
A truly fantastic location with easy access to ski to the main lifts and tram and ski back to the doorstep. Also easy 2 minute walk to the water park and village restaurants. Very clean, comfortable and well appointed with a pleasing view of the ski trail, and woods and glimpses of the tram as it goes up and down the mountain. The availability of discounted ski tickets from the owners is a considerable bonus.
We had a wonderful 4 day stay at this spacious condo. Ample room and well equipped kitchen to prepare and serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for 11 people. Very comfortable beds, with very nice bedding. Two full baths, with plenty of hot water. We visited the water park, hiked up the mountain, shopped in the ski shops and Jay Peak's new grocery store, Provisions, and skied on Friday! Great support and communication with the owner. We have returned to their condos many times.
This was by far the best Slopeside condo we have rented at Jay Peak. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and responded quickly to any inquiries prior to and during our stay. The condo has been tastefully updated. The location is ideal- just a short walk or ski to the Tramhaus base and indoor waterpark. We are already looking forward to our stay next year!
I stayed at this condo with my 2 adult children for 6 days around Christmas time. The condo is exactly as advertised. Fresh, clean and newly renovated. The beds were incredibly plush with nice comforters, the bedrooms new and clean and the kitchen as well. It appears to be the best condo for ski in and ski out on the mountain, and it is within walking distance of all the nice features at the base (see map and Jay Peak brochures for details). We thoroughly enjoyed the skiing. The TRAM is a nice alternative to riding up to chair lift on those cold windy days. Skating at the beautiful indoor ice rink was a pleasure. The restaurants on the property were good. The owners of the condo were fair, honest and responsive. I recommended this particular condo to my brother and sister-in-law who want to ski Jay Peak.
On Mountain, Ski in/ Ski out, The property is located directly on the mountain, 20 feet off the Queen's Highway Trail. Watch skiers go by on the Queens Highway trail all day! Watch the tram go up and down from your couch with a view of the tram and view up through the trees and glades! I would definitely say the best location on the mountain!!! 1 minute walk to the new Water Park, Tower Bar, Aroma Coffee Shop, Alice's Table restaurant, and the Foundry! with a large hill adjacent for sliding, after hours ski tricks!! One of the closest units to the new hotels and Water Park!
