Why Frank Caruso chose Shenandoah Valley

It' s on a level lot. Just pull on car into the driveway, No steep or curving driveway going up or down toward the home.

What makes this lodge unique

No steps unless you have to go upstairs to the bunkbeds. Everything is one one level.

We had a great time at this property. The house was very nice. Had plenty of room for our group. The kitchen was well equipped especially the griddle which came in handy when cooking breakfast for our group which was the main meal cooked. There were nice places to eat near the house as well. Liked how close the house was also to the water park, skiing and ice skating. This was our first experience in Massanutten and this home helped make it an amazing first trip here!

Holiday Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Spent a few days after Christmas at his wonderful house in Massanutten. We had two families and the house offered plenty of space. Very open plan that allowed us to all stay engaged!! Easy ride to skiing and tubing area. Spent days walking and checking out local caverns. We will keep this on our list for future vacation spots.

Great place in the woods

Very enjoyable. Wooded lot in a cul-de-sac at Massanutten. Saw deer one morning. Very roomy and loved the loft area and back deck. Great that it was pet friendly.

Was exactly as advertised, very clean and on a great location. Safe neighborhood and great fireplace. Has an awesome bridge inside the cabin that connects the bunkbeds upstairs.

Not worth the money...

  • 1 of 5

I do not like to write bad reviews, but I had such a bad experience in this place that I decided to share it with you. Rented this cabin for 4 days and 3 nights. First impression was great due to its location and the place does look neat, but when the we were about to go to sleep, found out that the sheets on the beds were dirty with dry blood spots, smelly, full of human hair and seemed like they haven't been changed since the previous tenants. Called the property manager asking him why they are dirty, to which he replied that he is out of town for the weekend and cannot do anything about it, but there should be some spare sheets in the closed. Found the sheets but they smelled worse the first ones. Ended up sleeping on the couch in our clothes and the next day had to go and buy brand new sheets as nobody was interested in doing anything about it. In addition had to buy detergent for the dishes as they had food stain on them and the place was out of dishwasher detergent. Called the owner and he said that the manager spoke with us and we did not want him to come and change anything, which obviously was a lie. We ended up having a great time in Massanutten as we went to the water park and community pool but dreaded the thought of going back to the cabin in the evening. We were shocked at the fact that nobody took ownership of the situation, it is just an example of bad customer service. At the end of the stay I asked the owner to get a refund for at least the sheets that we had to buy, which he "kindly" rejected.

Bottom line, the place is not worth the money, and even if it was cheaper, I would not want my children to sleep in those conditions!
