My kids and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful property and enjoyed every moment. Gabriel the manager was so friendly and helpful and Millie made breakfast every day. My kids loved eating her pancakes and spending the day looking at the ocean from the pool. The house has a modern Mexican design and is maintained so well. I loved every detail of Casa Zama and look forward to returning. Jeff.
Unique design and overall pretty good
Just got back from spending spring break here and we did enjoy lots of time in the pool. Overall the house is pretty good. Keep in mind this is in Mexico and exposed to the elements regularly. The house is located just down from the dump. Which does have quite the odor when you drove by it daily on the golf cart. However the good news is you never smelled it at the house. The maid service was good, the breakfast was just okay. Nothing special. We did have some basic challenges that they address when they stopped by to check in on us. Those items ranged from air conditioner noise in the master bedroom, hot tub not heating, lack of hot water on the south side of the house and getting the phone to work. They did address everything when we brought it up if they could. Very friendly about it as well. We did arrange for transportation with AGI tours. Not sure I would do that again. I suspect it would have less cost if you just did the ferry and taxi. The island has the typical Mexico feel and you can get all around it easily. Used VRBO to help find some great places to go and places to eat in town. There are lots of places to go enjoy yourself. Overall we did enjoy our time and the kids loved the pool. Glad we crossed this off our list of places to visit.
Thank you for the review, we really appreciate your comments and we strive to make the best experience possible.
Casa Zama was amazing!
This was my first time staying at Casa Zama as well as visiting the island and it won't be my last! Once my group and I arrived at the villa, we were greeted by Gabi, who walked us through the entire house and explained everything. He gave us his number and told us if we needed anything at all please call him. Like other reviewers, the villa was much more beautiful in person. The layout of the house was very unique and there were so many places to relax. Ron or Melanie recommended this nice Argentinian couple for chef services and grocery stocking. My group decided to do a cooking class and it went soooo well. We laughed, we drank wine, and we made delicious food - it was a great experience. My guests and I really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back!
We thank you so much for the kind words and we welcome you back anytime that you would like to return. It is our pleasure to make your vacation experience wonderful and we are happy that we succeeded.

Peaceful and relaxing vacation
Just returned from our 8 night stay at Casa Zama a few days ago and now I sit here writing this review trying to figure out a way to go back. Ron met us at the house upon arrival to give us a quick walk through then left allowing us privacy. He was just a quick text message away if we had any issues and addressed them quickly. His staff was very professional. Coming in each morning to make breakfast, clean rooms and do laundry. We barely knew they were there. Javier the pool guy also came each morning to clean pool and do outside maintenance. He also offered to go get us anything we needed and even called us a cab back to the ferry the day we left. My wife and I stayed there along with another couple. The two separate suites allowed us for absolute privacy from each other. Waking up each morning and opening the wall of doors completely open to the wonderful ocean breeze was amazing. This was our first time staying on the south end of Isla. It was much more quiet than the crowd of North Beach. We had a cart that we took to the beach a couple of days but found ourselves chilling out by the private pool most days. Thanks again Ron and your staff for an amazing vacation.
This was our first time to Isla Mujeres and it was a wonderful experience. Casa Zama is a unique home even among the other unique homes on the island. Very well maintained in the salt air environment. The sunrise view is surreal and almost not even real looking at times. Breakfast every morning provided except Sunday, you just hop into your golf cart and head to Rooster's for breakfast that day. Your at the south end of the island and you can be on the sunset side in a couple of minutes so you can see both the sunrise and sunset if you wish no problem. All in all an excellent stay.
Use AGI tours (they were recommended by Ron) about as easy as it gets from the airport, ferry and Casa Zama and back. Everyone was where they said they would be when they said they would be.
Have Ron arrange your golf cart , it will be at the casa when you arrive.
Limon Restaurant for an very tasty meal.
Carry a raincoat so you can just ride in your golf cart in the rain if it does.
The Joint Reggae bar is only about five minutes away and has good food and drinks.
Go, stay, and have a Isla adventure.
Best place to stay on the South side
Casa Zama has it all! There is a 180 degree view of the ocean - which can be seen from the pool, living room, kitchen table, both suites and hammocks. The bedrooms have AC and the beds are comfty. You have the option to add a golf cart - do it - this is the best way to get around the island. There is daily breakfast + maid service which is great. For an additional small fee - the cooks will make your other meals too. Do it - ask for molé enchiladas + chile rellanos. I will be dreaming of this place + those meals for a long time...enjoy!
We are so thrilled that you enjoyed your stay and we welcome you back anytime. It is such a pleasure to host wonderful guests like you and your family. From the staff and the owners at Casas Zama we thank you! Please join us again.
