Casa da Bia: sleeping 4 persons, 1 double bedroom & 1 twin bedroom.
Has it's own private traditional courtyard garden with grape vines,flower beds,succulent plants and cacti in pots - a great place for sunbathing on the loungers or eating out and cooking on the barbeque! A glimpse of Sea views can be seen from the door porch's and it's only a short walk to the beach / village center (450 meters), and the closest well stocked convenience shop is just 200 meters away.
Casa da Bia is a certificated members of 'Registo de Alojamento Local', And are proud to display 'Sintra Inn' plack's having been assessed for legal conformity, safety & quality by Sintra Camara Municipal.
Sales tax is included in the price, and a full tax receipt is given.
Cottage was recently renovated with holiday makers in mind, with all of the fixtures and fittings were chosen with style, practicality and simplicity in mind making the cottage extremely easy and comfortable to stay in, Including the winter season as they have heating.

Lisbon Coast Cottages, founded in 2004 by Ana Mason-Correia and Ralph Mason, is made up of a small strong team.
We (Ana & Ralph) are husband and wife. Ralph, English from Shrewsbury in the West Midlands and Ana, Portuguese who grew up by the sea in the outskirts of Lisbon before moving to London to pursue university studies, where we eventually met.
Ana is a graphic designer by trade but now works remotely from home for an UK based company Wahanda, and Ralph, who was a senior quality control technician for a major radio-pharmaceutical company before the move to Portugal, now works for the properties full time.
In the Portuguese side of the family were the 3 beach cottages in a very delapidated state, which we inherited in 2004. We instantly set to work rebuilding Casa da Olga from scratch whilst simultaneously doing a major refurbishment of Vila Arcos. They were both ready and we opened for business in June 2005.
Soon after the London rat race became more of a drag than the stuff dreams are made of, so in a leap of faith we decided to renovate the 3rd cottage (Casa da Bia), move to Portugal and try and make a new better life in the sun. It was the spring of 2006.
Subsequently we have poured blood, sweat and tears into Lisbon Coast Cottages, transforming it into a steadily growing and secure business. From the initial 3 beach cottages, expansion was started by the acquisition and refurbishment of another cottage in the heart of historical Sintra, which was sold in the Autumn of 2011 as we want to concentrate fully on the area around Praia das Maçãs do ensure the best quality service possible.
As well as the owned properties, Ana & Ralph exclusively and comprehensively manage a 6 bedroom Luxury Villa with pool and sea Views called Casal de Santa Maria for it's owners Stuart & Sue Pearson who live in London, property number p88135 on this site.
Ralph Mason purchased this cottage in 2004
Ana's grandparents built the cottages in the early 1950's, and they were used for family holidays for many years.
Ana's Grandparents would stay in one cottage, and Ana and her Mother and Farther the other, Privacy for every one but the convenience of the family being just next door.
When we inherited the cottages in 2004 they had been neglected for many years and required extensive modernization.
We refurbished the cottages as a rental units rather than for our own use, so every thing was chosen to be the perfect blend of style, simplicity and durability. On arrival you will find the cottages exactly as in the photos, and the cottages areextremely easy to live in.
When deciding on the name of the cottages, there could only be one choice ! the family names, Casa da Bia in memory of Ana's Granmother, and Vila Arcos the family surname.
Being simply the two of us on the management side of the company, you will be dealing exclusively with one of us every step of the way, from your initial enquiry through to questions, booking and payment. On arrival you will be greeted personally by one of us together with a nice bottle of wine and a basket of fresh local goodies to help you start off your holiday. We can, if you wish, also point you in the direction of all the best places to eat and places to go. We live just a few miles from the cottages and are more than happy to help should you need any help 24hrs a day.
We have been renting properties in the village since 2005 and are building a brand, not just renting a single property and so take our guests requirements very seriously and any unforeseen problems are dealt with extremely quickly!
A broken / damaged item remaining in a property is just not the way we work.

We absolutely loved our 9 day stay at Casa da Bia! It was our family's first time in Portugal. We had two younger children with us and this house was perfect. A great size, very comfortable, clean, had everything we needed, and it's in a great location close to town. We chose not to rent a car and there was plenty we could walk to, even with two small children (but do be prepared to walk a lot!). The owner, Ralph, is wonderful to work with. He did a great job of giving recommendations for local restaurants, a butcher, a baker, local attractions, etc. Anything we needed, he was very helpful and responded promptly during our stay. We would highly recommend this house and we can't wait to rent from Ralph again!
The cottage was spotless on arrival and Ralph spent time with us to give us tips on what to see, where to eat, etc. The outdoor area at the cottage is wonderful - sunny and private with plenty space and furniture for eating, lounging, hanging out washing, etc. It's just a few minutes walk to a lovely beach and walks along the headland either north or south are really pleasant. The sea can be quite rough, but there is a 50m pool in Praia das Macas and a 100m pool in Praia Grande which is just down the road (about 20 mins on foot). Sintra is stunning and very accessible from Praia das Macas - we went there three times and still haven't seen all it has to offer! My husband is a keen cyclist and Ralph passed on info on bike rental and took him touring one day along a gorgeous route.
All in all, a fantastic holiday. Ralph was a pleasure to deal with and helped us get the most from our stay. Highly recommended!
Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir von Ralph sehr freundlich empfangen und erhielten viele hilfreiche Tipps und Infos. Die Wohnung war sehr sauer und sehr gepflegt. Von Praia da Macas konnten wir unsere Ziele in der Umgebung prima erreichen. Für 4 Erwachsene absolut ausreichend groß. Uneingeschränkte Weiterempfehlung *****

Praia das Maçãs is a true gem of a beach side village and still to this day has remained mostly unspoilt by commercialism, the village boasts a golden sand beach,a hand full of cafe-bar's and restaurants, a beautiful 1940's Saltwater swimming pool and lido, a safe Children's play area with swings and slide, a fresh produce market, butchers, bakers, fish mongers, post office and a few independent shop's.
It has a small friendly community and by the end of your stay you are bound to feel part of it!
It is well served by public transport with a bus service running 7 days a week, and also an historic electric tram running at the weekend, both of which all year round.
Praia das Maçãs is only 12km from the exquisitely beautiful world heritage site town of Sintra ( bus & tram connects them ).
Sintra is a UNESCO world heritage site and has 6 palaces and a Moors castle amongst it's historic attractions, famous since before Victorian times it's has always attracted the art's and there is also many galleries and exhibitions to explore.
There is also easy access to Lisbon itself, the famous casino in Estoril, or the beautiful marina at Cascais.
The perfect romantic getaway or the perfect Family beach holiday the choices are endless both in activities and entertainment!
We live locally and have worked hard to find the very best performing company's that provide services to tourists such as Wine tasting, cycling / bike hire and guiding, para gliding, surfing,body boarding, horse riding & segway tours.
Golf is very popular in the local area and we have 7 golf courses that are close to the cottage, All are pretty much in the same area on the south side of the Sintra hill, all of them being a 25 mins / 25 euro taxi ride away.
