This 1880 Savannah townhouse, within view of Forsyth Park's fountain, has been totally refurbished and is now available for truly discriminating travelers.
As the pictures demonstrate the home is decorated in period antiques and reproduction furniture. Antique bed frames, chests, armoires, and accessory pieces are used to set the mood of historic Savannah. Heart pine floors are throughout.
Inside find a beautiful living room and separate dining room, each with its own fireplace separated by a set of original pocket doors. A powder room and new kitchen are also on the first floor.
Walk through the French doors of this totally modernized kitchen and find yourself on a recently constructed back porch which overlooks beautiful private bricked courtyard. The porch and courtyard have table seating for eight. There is a gas grill if needed.
Upstairs are three bedrooms, two with full baths. The middle bedroom has private access to the rear bath. Six adults can comfortably be accommodated. A crib is available.
Our townhouse is located one block from Forsyth Park. Looking left out the front door you will see the Fountain in Forsyth Park. With that said, ALL within the Historic District is WALKABLE from our location. Just park your car on our NON-METERED street and enjoy your walk. The River is but a 15 minute walk away.
My wife and I were led to Savannah by our son who received a Masters Degree in Architecture at SCAD. Nearing retirement we both decided Savannah was the ideal place to spend our retirement lives. We have much to do, many cultural events and wonderful people to be with.
Larry Lehner purchased this townhome in 2008
Our townhouse when purchased was in dire need of a going over. It has turned out to be a beautifully restored home with all our personal needs and touches met. The location is perfect. We can walk everywhere within the district and still have the peace of a residential area. Likewise, parking is a non-issue.
Other then ALL of the Historic District being within an easy walk from our home, we can enjoy the concerts and events at Forsyth Park, walk to dinner or the coffee shop, shows and museums. We can spend a morning on River Walk or take a 15 mile ride to Tybee Beach. Hilton Head or Beaufort are short rides away.
This is a well-appointed historical townhouse that complemented our rich Savannah experience. It has antiques throughout with upscale, modern conveniences. It's private and secure on a lovely, quiet street with Forsyth Park in view. Temperature controls on both levels, newly remodeled bath and kitchen, and comfortable seating on the back porch and quaint courtyard all made for a luxurious stay. There was not one attention to detail lacking! This is a showcase home, not a sparsely-furnished rental! We were extremely pleased.
Comfortable home in a great location. Great courtyard in back for sitting outside and enjoying the early morning or just reading. Enjoyed our stay and would rent again next time we are in Savannah.
The townhouse is steps from Forsyth Park and within walking distance to everything. It's beautifully decorated with antiques and very well appointed. The back porch is great for morning coffee of relaxing in the evenings. The owners and managers were great. We were very comfortable here and look forward to our next stay.
So why only 3 stars? Because they advertised "sleeps 6". So 3 old couples took it and we arrived last to a WINDOWLESS room with a "teen double" bed, in no way big enough for 2 adults. And no other bed or comfortable sofa to sleep on (a blow up was available we found out). Not acceptable for a comfortable vacation, so we left early, wasted the rental, incurred flight penalty. Disappointment all around.
Now the good. The home is lovely, clean, with a well appointed kitchen, a beautiful enclosed garden, a covered porch also large and well furnished. For a family of 5, say, the rental would be bliss. It was disingenuous to rent to 3 aged, couples. The master bedroom btw was large, with a beautiful en suite.
Oh and the power was out on that block from midnight until we left at 3:30 AM (why not, could not sleep there), packed in blackness, risked life and limb going down the narrow stairs to the concrete porch to the street. Not their fault but all part of the "vacation memories".
My family (6 total) stayed in this amazing home for my sister's wedding. The home was not only beautiful and wonderfully restored but it was in a great location to walk the historic streets and squares of Savannah. This rental is much more than a place to stay...it is a gem! The amenities of this home made our stay not only comfortable but easy. We didn't need to look for anything because everything was provided for us in this spectacular home. I can't say enough about the feel of this property. I highly recommend this home for all!
The home was beautiful and clean. The outdoor area was so inviting. we spent time catching up on the precious patio as the weather was perfect. we were able to walk to everything from here and felt safe. I would recommend it highly. Courtney was easy to work with as well!
Our townhouse is in the heart of the Landmark Historic District of Savannah. Step out the front door and look left at the 'Fountain' in Forsyth Park. Walk to any museum, cafe, restauant or the river from this Savannah location. No car is needed.
