Tanguy Relaxing in Anchorage, wishing he was at his Seward House listening to the seagulls and watching Bald Eagles.
Tanguy Libbrecht purchased this house in 2007
My family and I really enjoyed the serenity and majestic beauty of resurrection bay as well as the friendly people, fishing and wildlife.
The cottage has an unexplainable, simple charm that makes it difficult to leave. Worries melt away while you enjoy yourself with friends and loved ones. Board games, anyone?
Walking distance to everything downtown. Quiet, convenient location in a charming seaside home. Home has a warm, historic feel without being formal.
From the guest book:
This is a wonderful little cottage, its very clean and cozy. Its also very convient, very close to downtown, and the sea life center. I was with a party of 9 and we all slept comfertably in the house. We had a great time, and thanks for having us.
We very much enjoyed our overnight stay at this charming old house, perfectly located.
We came by train from Anchorage, a scenic ride not to be missed. The (free) shuttle took us to the house, perfectly located to walk to the shops, restaurants and the famous Sea Life Center and the new Library/ Museum.
The house is very well equipped, comfortable beds, large kitchen, and well decorated, prettier than the pictures!
The owner provided us with good recommendations and returned our phone call promptly .
We will come with friends for a fishing trip and explore the area.
The owners did a wonderful job restoring this historical home. The scenery is all about Seward, and close to best restaurants and walks on the most scenic landscape in SE Alaska. Will definitely return for a longer stay. Enjoy a great meal at the Cookery, brew some fresh coffee back at the house and take a stroll on the lake. Nothing better for a vacation stay.
This house was perfect for our ladies weekend in Seward, 7 total. We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy downtown house. It is located in a convenient spot just up the street from the Sea life center. The living room was great for us to hang out and play games. The kitchen was perfect for us to be able to make all of our meals. I would definitely recommend this rental and I hope to return in the future. Thanks!
Everything about our stay in this historic home in Seward was fantastic - from the owners communication and recommendations for our trip, to the home itself as base camp for 4 adults (4 separate beds) to the picturesque and laid back town. This rental experience also had almost a familial sense to it - no cleaning deposit, things like ketchup and coffee available for our use and simple check out instructions. It was like we were staying in a friend's home, which made it all the more relaxing. Also impressive is the hosts' commitment to and love of the area. I'd definitely stay here again when visiting Seward!
Right in line with the description of the house, it is in a central location in Seward. Walking distance for morning coffee, happy hour beverage walk on the bay and near restaurants. Also easy access to the marina. The house is from the early 1900s, recognizing that you understand the charm. The owners were very helpful throughout the process. We very much enjoyed ourselves.
We have stayed here as a group of ladies a few years back and were excited to be back. The house was wonderful. It is very charming and suited our group of 5/6 ladies perfectly. We fight over the bunk room which is so special. Since we had incredible 65 degree weather the back deck with both views of water and mountains were perfect. The best thing about this property is location. Once you park you don't have to drive to get to the main spots in 'downtown'. You can squeeze 8 people in the house, however it was perfect for our size of group.
Ocean Views. Home is located close to many coffee shops, art galleries, a brewery/restaurant, as well as various restaurants. Also walking distance playground for kids. Can't beat the location!
