WE WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO BE OUR GUESTS AND SHARE IN THE MANY WONDERFUL SIGHTS, SOUNDS, SMELLS, AND SENSATIONS OF THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII.
A-201 is a spacious 1150 square foot, upper level, two story condominium, that sleeps six and fronts the 9th Fairway of the Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Village Golf Course. Our home is just steps from one of two well maintained swimming pools, and Cabana areas. Each pool area includes Jacuzzi, shuffleboard and two barbecue grills with covered eating space.
Our condo has all the amenities of home. Two large bedrooms with two bathrooms, living and dining area, and a wonderful lanai complete with wet bar. The condo includes bamboo hardwood flooring, a comfortable Polynesian style sofa and matching recliners, an entertainment center with TV, DVD player, and a Stereo with CD player. All furnished in a tropical motif. Enjoy your morning Kona coffee on the lanai while checking your email using the FREE WIFI HIGH SPEED INTERNET. Clean cabinets are stocked with beach towels, linens, and bath towels…DON’T BRING A THING!
The Master Bedroom is furnished with a king size bed, TV/DVD player and a three quarter bath with vanity area. The Guest Bedroom has two twin beds, and a full bath. The Living Room has a convertible sofa with a queen size mattress.
The full kitchen has a stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher and oven. Stove is solid surface. The kitchen has Corian counter tops, disposal, microwave, and is fully equipped with cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, and silverware. Between the kitchen and dining area is a breakfast bar with three stools. The dining table seats four.
The location of our condo makes it perfect for year round enjoyment. It doesn’t rain on this side of the island very much and the temperature range is usually 75 to 85 degrees. Most days there is a nice afternoon breeze.
You’ll love the unobstructed view looking out over the 9th Fairway, at the ocean, and the spectacular Hawaiian Sunsets directly in front of you. Long after sunset, you will occasionally see the lights of a departing cruise ship heading northwest to its next island.
The Villas has beautiful tropical landscaping, gentle breezes, the unique sounds of tropical birds singing, little green geckos, and THE MOST AMAZING STAR LIT NIGHT SKY.
We have a local property coordinator available 24/7 that can help you with any information you may need about the Big Island, Waikoloa Village, and your condo.
Your lanai has a table, four chairs, chaise, and a lighted wet bar and overhead lighting for entertaining. A Mai-Tai, your loved one, and SPECTACULAR OCEAN SUNSETS will provide lasting memories.
The Golf Course Pro Shop is within easy walking distance. There you’ll enjoy DISCOUNTED GREENS FEES as our guests. The championship golf courses at Mauna Kea, Mauna Lani, Hapuna Prince, and The Waikoloa Beach and Waikoloa Kings Courses are just minutes away by car.
The Waikoloa Village Shopping Center is a pleasant ten minute walk along the golf course or a quick drive from our condo. There you’ll find a modern grocery store with on site bakery and deli departments, a gas station, a bank, restaurants, a pharmacy, beauty salon, post office and more.
Located about six miles down the hill are The Kings Shops with world class restaurants, art galleries, jewelry shops, and clothing stores. The new Mauna Lani Shops include fine dining and a first class shopping experience.
Just a short drive to the South Kohala Gold Coast are several wonderful White Sand Beaches, including the well known Hapuna Beach and ‘Anaeho’omalu Bay, “A-Bay.”
Waimea, and Parker Ranch (a working cattle ranch), with its fine restaurants and shopping is only 25 minutes away.
You may want to see the small town aspect of Hawaiian life and visit Hawi, Kapaa, and Honokaa, as well as the lush valleys of Polou and Waipio on the Hamakua Coast.
Kailua-Kona is where the action is. Here you’ll find great dining and night life, snorkeling, shopping, island tours, dinner cruises, an underwater submarine tour, and several Luau’s to choose from.
Take a day trip to visit the active Kilauea Volcano and the Hilo side of the island. Visit The Black Sands Beach in Kau and watch the Sea Turtles sun bathing. There are beautiful beaches and points of interest along the way to all of these destinations.
The Big Island has so many sights to see and things to do from the snow capped Mauna Kea Summit to the fiery hot lava of Kilauea, with golf, sun bathing, and boogie boarding, in between. We’ve only mentioned a few.
We invite you to share our piece of paradise.
ALOHA AND WELCOME TO OUR HOME!
Aloha, we are John and Ann Hantelman and we own A-201. We were fortuate enough to buy our condominium in May 2001 after having spent time on several of the islands. We are now retired and live on the mainland and we visit The Villas as often as we can. Our plan is to spend our retirement years between the Big Island in the winter and the Oregon Coast in the summer. Until that time we welcome guests and hope they enjoy our home and the Big Island of Hawaii as much as we do!
John & Ann Hantelman purchased this condo in 2001
We love the Big Island because of the activities available and the range of climates the island has to offer. The Kona side of the island is less humid than the Hilo side. Most of the resorts are located here and the SUNSETS ARE FABULOUS.
IF YOU ENJOY GOLF IN THE MORNING, KAYAKING IN THE AFTERNOON, AND MAI TAI'S AT SUNSET, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!
John and Ann,
Thank you for giving my family an opportunity to have an unforgettable vacation!
Wish you all the best!
I would actually say 4.5 stars.
We enjoyed our time at this condo and it worked fantastic for my immediate family while my extended family stayed in other condos nearby. We loved the ability to have our own space yet conveniently get together with my parents and siblings' families.
The condo was overall great. It was clean, the lanai had a beautiful view and the living room was very comfortable. We slept great every night. The small knock on the rating would be 2 things: an ant problem in the kitchen. Luckily they had ant poisoning available for us to use, but we had a hard time getting them to leave. (this was a problem in the other condos that we were in as well.) Also, I would suggest a bit of updating might improve the ambience upstairs.
Nice walking and running paths available - we enjoyed this as well as the close proximity of a grocery store, gas station and other shops (including a great coffee shop - Lava Java) Access to the shared pool and community kitchen was wonderful for a low key afternoon without driving anywhere.
We also appreciated the ability to use the snorkeling equipment and the body boards. The kids LOVED body boarding at Hapuna Beach: I'd highly recommend!
John was available by phone when I called in a panic since I forgot to print the parking pass needed. He helped me with writing out a temporary ticket and the next morning, the office had left me a printout to fill out and place in the car. So, thanks for helping us through that so overall, everything ran smoothly.
Thanks for a great place to enjoy our trip!!
Is it absolutely perfect? No. However, it certainly is a wonderful place to spend any amount of time. The west facing lanai looks over the 9th and 8th holes of the golf course and the wonderful sunsets are extremely beautiful. The condo is spacious and everything works nicely. The king size bed is comfortable. The furnishings, especially the two reclining chairs in the living room are very nice too. The kitchen is well stocked for any length of stay. We would return in a heartbeat. Mahalo so much to the owners of this wonderful condo.
We enjoyed sitting on the Lanai watching the geckos, the golfers and the parade of turkeys every morning and evening. It is located so that everything is an easy drive to reach shopping, beach, or just exploring.
Without going into too much detail, the entire condo is in dire need of an upgrade. The washer, dryer, refrigerator, and the wood floor were good but all else needs to be replaced and remodeled. All the furniture and decorations appear to be from a second hand store of years ago. Still, every time we visit the islands we have a good time. Great shopping and great scenery.

As usual, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in A201. Your condo is very well kept and convenient to everything one could possibly need or want (groceries, shopping, beaches are only minutes away). We absolutely give a big thumbs-up to anyone wanting to visit Hawaii to stay at your condo. And yes, we are already looking forward to our next trip!
When we initially arrived the cleaning person was really working hard to finish up and she left the condo looking nice and clean.
Four problems came up during the first day.
1.) The remote for the TV upstairs did not work because the batteries were corroded and so was the remote control.
2.) The lamp on the night stand upstairs was broken and sparked when it was turned on. I unplugged the lamp.
3.) the Wi-Fi would not work.
These three items were taken care of in the first two days and the support people were very responsive.
4.) The guest cards were out of date (2015). The golf course finally accepted them after my friends assured the golf course staff that I was staying in your condo.
5.) Maintenance item. The front panel on the cabinet where the kitchen sink is located needs to be replaced. The composite wood has been exposed to water and is falling apart.
Over all we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay in your condo again.
