Beautiful apartment, great location
Lovely high ceilings, spacious, clean, well-equipped and well located. We really enjoyed staying in this apartment. There are several small epiceries tucked in among all the high-end stores, so one doesn't always have to hike up to the Monoprix for supplies. The Place Bellecour is just a block and a half away, with Metro, buses, taxis and the Tourist Info. And just next to Pl. Bellecour is the cafe street Maronnieres, with delicious options for outdoor eating. In the other direction, just a short distance from the apartment, was the Place Jacobins and rue Mercerie with lots of cafes. Nice to have an elevator, but be careful getting in and out, with extra steps.
Our local representative was on the spot to show us in and explain how the keys work. However, later on, when we had a question and tried to contact bnblord, by phone, text and email, it took 8 hours to get an answer. There was a laminated booklet (3 pages) of information about the apartment, but we would have appreciated a more thorough set of instructions and suggestions.
We enjoyed Lyon -- our first visit there -- especially the Textile Museum and the House of the Canuts in Croix Rousse. The little trolley was a good way to see Croix Rousse, with good commentary in English. Another high point was the Museum of the Resistance.
We would recommend this apartment, and Lyon, to others visiting France.
Spacious, great location
Quiet, roomy, clean, modern furniture, comfortable bed, great appliances and equipment. Superb location, just a block from the main square, Place Bellecour, and steps from Place Jacobin. Many choices of restaurants nearby, and small food shops as well as the big Monoprix. Check-in was smooth; we were met at the agreed-upon time, and were given a quick look-through of the property. We do wish there had been a "house booklet" with written instructions and suggestions. Contact with the "manager" was not so smooth. We sent an email, a phone message and a text one morning, and had a reply 8 hours later . . . Also, the taxi that we had requested and was suggested by management and confirmed online by us did not show up. ( We pulled bags to the Pl. Bellecour taxi stand and got to the train station on time.) My impression is that, in general, the management is not located in Lyon, but is one that services several locations -- not sure about this though. We loved our visit to Lyon -- superb food and interesting history of textiles and silk-making. Also the powerful Museum of the Resistance. Try the restaurant streets Mercerie or Marroniere for lots of choices of wonderful cafes. The little trolley up to the Croix Rousse has a very interesting audio commentary.
We loved our time in Lyon. The flat was perfect. It is close to so many wonderful sites and places to eat. We felt at home right away.
Great Flat in the Perfect Location
We enjoyed every minute of our time in Lyon. The flat was clean, modern and spacious. It is so close to so many wonderful places to visit and amazing restaurants. We especially enjoyed dining on the rue Merciere. We would definitely recommend it and would love to return to Lyon someday.
