If you are traveling with a handicapped person (or not) this really is the perfect house in San Francisco! I was traveling with my 94 year old mother and her helper from the east coast and needed a comfortable quiet home base from which to work and play for a week. This house is well supplied with towels and bed linens, kitchen items, books and VHS DVD's, washer and dryer , down to the thoughtfulness of a bag full of different size swimsuits for any forgetful traveler who wishes to enjoy the pleasure of the lovely clean hot tub in the sun room.
The layout is very convenient, versatile and functional with two separate spaces, one upstairs and one down. This enabled me to house my mother downstairs overlooking the lovely little garden so that she did not have to climb steps several times a day with a second bedroom for one of us to be close to her at night. When she did climb the stairs the generously sized landing had enough space for a chair so she could rest in between the two staircases. Up and down are each complete units with kitchens and baths which provide the choice of privacy within a party as well as the ability to comfortably congregate on either the upper or lower floor.
Getting around is best accomplished with a rental car and GPS and this property has a spacious garage so you don't have to load and unload your valuables every time you go out. It is on the edge of a multi ethnic neighborhood that offers a great variety of restaurants and a Safeway is about a mile away. The neighborhood character is clean, quiet and safe.
The location is very central and therefore most convenient to the beach to the west, the downtown to the east, Fishermans wharf to the north and the airport to the south. In weekday morning rush hour, it took me about 20 minutes to get from this location to a conference I attended on Knob Hill (the center of SF downtown) even in traffic and under 15 minutes in non rush hour times.
I highly recommend this property to any travelers and especially to those traveling with handicapped family members. Patsy, the owner, was kind enough to send a travel packet with brochures and maps in advance and had everything in perfect order when we arrived. Thank you , Patsy, for sharing your home with us !!!!
My husband & I along with our three adult children and their partners spent five wonderful days at this perfect family home. Well before our arrival, Patsy (owner) had mailed us information about the house, maps, brochures and touring information for San Francisco. The pre-arrival information was greatly appreciated. The owners Patsy and Don are very well organized as the home had everything a traveler would need. We were also provided with complimentary coffee!
As there were seven of us we decided to us public transit to tour around the city. The BART station was approx four blocks away and the walk did us good as we indulged in quite a bit of the eating at the city's many fine restaurants.
Soaking in the hot tub after a long day of sight-seeing was a perfect way to end an evening. All the bedrooms were very roomy and bright. The master bedroom has an ensuite with walk-in -closet. The kitchen was well equiped with plenty of dishes and every appliance imaginable, even a rice cooker. Our flight on the day of our departure was early in the evening and Patsy was kind enough to let us stay until late in the afternoon and store our luggage. My husband left his camera battery charger and battery at the home. When we contacted the owner she offfered to mail it to us.
Now that's customer service that you don't get very often.
Thank-you for a memorable stay in your lovely home.
Thanks Patsy so much for allowing us to share your home. We were a group of 9 women here for some birthday celebrations. Everything was just perfect! We had plenty of space for all of us and it was nice to have a dining table to fit all of us for meals. You supplied so much more than any other vacation rental that I have rented in the past. Your home had everything that we could possibly need or want. The jacuzzi was very nice to come home to in the evenings with tired feet and backs. We appreciated your kindness so much! You communicate very well and you care about your renters enjoying themselves which meant alot to us. It was so much nicer than staying in multiple hotels rooms. We also enjoyed the nice walk to the bart but we also used Uber alot in the evenings which was very reasonable to the home. I would definitely recommend your home to anyone with a large group.
Thanks again Patsy for everything!
We recently celebrated my birthday in San Francisco, and I am more than happy to report that this home provided the perfect venue to experience my birthday. It was just amazing.
We all received a sense—a safe and a familial sense at this place. It was spacious for our group and for our friends that paid a visit. There was just so much value staying here. It's located within a twelve minute walk to the BART Station. There a number of shops and restaurants within the vicinity, and if you Lyft or Uber, you can get downtown in under 20 minutes.
The house was clean. The owner provided everything that you can expect from staying at a home—even bathing suits for the hot tub! Not that we used them, but it was a nice touch.
Overall, we felt safe. The neighborhood was quiet and respectful. The owner's home left a great impression on our group. Personally, I found that our group became closer after this trip, and this would not have happened staying at just any hotel. There was some fun magic here!
Thanks again! We all loved your home!
We were a group of 10 ladies on a girl trip. We stayed 5 nights and this house was perfect for us. The house had everything anyone would need and is very clean. They had plenty of bath towels. Internet connection was excellent & fast. Solarium with hot tub beautiful. Safeway grocery store has delivery service. We got free delivery as first time users; but the house has a cart to bring groceries, if you prefer. Bart & bus are close. Also if you are 65, you can order a senion discount pass on BART. You send application & $9; and BART will mail you a ticket with $24 credit. You can buy bus passes also but not senior discounted. There are small stores & produce sales near house. Neighborhood is very nice and quiet. I would recommend to most but perhaps younger people would prefer closer to city action.
This was a nice place to stay in San Francisco. The owner was very cordial and helpful. Pictures of the home are extremely accurate and the home is spacious with enough living area for two full families (at least).
Our families and friends from Spain, Chile, Michigan and California arrived exhausted and were warmly welcomed by Patsy Murphy to her wonderful home. She was delightfully responsive to all our questions prior to and upon our arrival. The house was in perfect order with all the necessities to jump start our family reunion and wedding of our daughter the following weekend at Sea Ranch, CA. At first I was concerned about the location (end of Mission Blvd near Hwy 280 entrance) not being "downtown" but found it not to be a problem at all. In fact it took us less time to arrive to the wharf than it did to park the car. It was also a restful retreat to return home to after a long day in the city. The lower separate and fully equipped apartment was JUST PERFECT for the young ladies in the bridal party for their pre-wedding celebrations and not bother us oldsters upstairs. The jacuzzi was throughly enjoyed by all. And I have to say that Patsy's "Perfect Family Home" with all its accommodations, spoiled us - in fact it surpassed accommodations found in the luxury home we rented in Sea Ranch. We will be back!!
