Welcome to Napa and to the best wine country in the world! Our conveniently located home is within walking distance of the lively restaurant and tasting room scene in downtown Napa and has easy access to Highway 29 and the hundreds of wineries of the Napa Valley.
The Fox Cottage has City of Napa permit #VR09-0045. This architectural gem in the heart of Napa's Old Town is elegantly situated among other Victorian homes, among tree shaded historic streets, and is within walking distance to everything from restaurants and shops to a grocery store and downtown wine tasting establishments. Walk to Morimoto, Celadon, Cole's Chop House, Bounty Hunter, Norman Rose Tavern, Angele, the Uptown Theater and the Napa Valley Opera House. Notable architect Luther Turton designed this group of homes.
With gleaming oak floors, fine cotton linens, pillow top beds, fluffy duvets and oriental rugs this home provides a romantic retreat. The bathroom has just been restored with 'subway' tile wainscot, porcelain tile floor and new fittings and details.
This charming two bedroom, one bathroom house accommodates 4 guests very comfortably. The back yard includes a private dining area, 'fire pit', gas grill, 75 rose bushes, 20 peonies, and a collection of fruit trees and camellias.

I'm an architect who specializes in historic architecture. I am also a councilmember of the City of Napa. My husband, John, is a software engineer for Oracle, he works full time from our home next door and is an avid gardener and pianist, hence the roses, peonies, and fruit trees.
Juliana purchased this house in 1996
I acquired this property in 1996 and operated it for many years as a regular rental home. In 2005 I refurbished the house and began operations as the Fox Cottage. You can walk to downtown Napa.
This is a very special group of historic homes designed by Luther Turton in 1888-1892. The neighborhood is eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. These homes are unique examples of Queen Anne architecture.
We had a wonderful stay in Napa at Fox Cottage. We really enjoyed the proximity to downtown Napa. Went to great restaurants - Oenotri, Bounty Hunter (beer can chicken!), Celadon, Carpe Diem. Ca Momi at Oxbow Market, and a standout Sunday brunch at Brix!
Visited lots of great vineyards - Artesa, Grgich Hills, Sterling, Plumpjack, Honig, Kelly Fleming, Shafer, Michael Mondavi, Paradigm, Robert Sinskey, Kuleto Estates - had a very nice picnic lunch at V. Sattui. We enjoyed touring Castello di Amorosa.
We used Janette from "My Napa Valley Driver" to take us to all the wineries - she picked us up at the house and helped us plan itineraries for each day. Terrific service and well worth it after all the wine!
Fox Cottage and Napa = great vacation!!
What a wonderful place to stay on our trip to Napa! Fox Cottage met our needs perfectly with plenty of entertainment room, large table, and abundant wine glasses! It was cozy and comfortable and only a short walk to downtown! We would definitely want to stay here again if we travel to Napa!
Very cozy cottage! Stayed a few nights for a girls trip and loved Napa. Great amenities, excellent location and super comfortable beds.
Warm, comfortable and stocked with anything you might need. Close to downtown and restaurants.
Very nice cottage with large living/dining area. We walked to downtown (Oxbow Market) in 15 minutes.
We loved where we stayed for our vacation in mid November. The cottage was cozy, and we loved being less than a 5 minute drive from just about all restaurants and shops downtown. Such a pretty neighborhood as well. The only thing that stuck out, although not a huge deal was the fact that we had to empty all trash and recycle and locate the bins in the basement on our way out. I figured since we already paid for a cleaning lady in our fee- why was that our responsibility? But like I said- not a big deal at all, just something that stuck out. Overall it was great, and would definitely recommend this place.
The house is located in a beautiful Victorian neighborhood, just a short walk to downtown Napa restaurants, tasting rooms, festivals, the Uptown Theater, the Napa Valley Opera House, and The Oxbow Marketplace. There is easy access to Highway 29 and all of the wineries of the Napa Valley.
