Several apartments furnished in le MARAIS and St GERMAIN des PRES.
Available permanently to take care of tenants. 500 testimonials in my private guestbook upon request.
Why le Marais and St germain des Pres? Paris is a museum. These two areas are the chef d'oeuvre of that museum.
This was my first time staying on the left bank and will forever more be my preferred destination in Paris. Metro Odeon is a very short walk and there are probably 50 restaurants/cafes within a 5 minute walk, many within 1 minute. There is a full service supermarket (Carrefour), as well as a couple of smaller ones, within a 3 minute walk for all of your grocery needs). This area oozes with charm and if you stay here, you will feel like a resident of Paris.
If you compare this location with similar or even higher priced properties, for 2 people, this place will rate at the very top in terms of value, location and an owner that goes out of his way to make you comfortable. I can't imagine a better spot in Paris or the St. Germain area.
I stayed here for 9 days and will definitely stay here again!
GREAT location, 1 block from the Siene, 1 block from the real St Germaine where the locals hangout.
AMAZING sweets shop right next door.
Bike rentals right out front.Unit was good size, nice kitchenette, modern conveniences, good Wifi.
South facing unit with a peek-a-boo view of the street.
It was less expensive than a hotel in the same area.
Every time we used the toilet, sink and shower, the unit smelled like a sewer for hours.
The person in the unit below us was a smoker, a very heavy smoker who smoked in the late evening. Because the building, windows and vent system is older, it was as if we were sharing a space with a smoker. A plume of smoke would hover in the room for an hour and often made it hard to sleep.
The large carpet that covered most of the living space was really dirty/gross. We wore socks the entire time and washed them often.
The cable stopped working after day one. Having to call someone, interrupt there day or interrupt your vacation to have someone come by and fix it was not what we wanted to be doing, so we let it go.
The stairwell can be loud and the neighbors can be very loud, especially after a late night of drinking.
Because the Cons outweigh the Pros in the most disturbing ways, we would not recommend this place.
This is our second time to stay in this apartment and find Thierry to be an excellent, reliable host. We love its location: It is in the heart of the left bank, close to everything of interest to us. We appreciate the quick access to the Seine and its many bridges, along with all that the Saint-Germain neighborhood has to offer. Everything is at your fingertips with its proximity to Luxembourg Gardens, cafes, boulangeries, galleries, and museums. Because the windows are on the street and not an enclosed courtyard, we enjoyed being able to see what's happening in the neighborhood right from the dining table. I would definitely recommend this apartment to others.
My husband and I stayed in this studio for 9 days in September. It was our first time using VRBO and we were very pleased with the helpful, professional manner of Thierry. We picked this apartment because of the excellent reviews and were not disappointed. As others have said, the location is steller – museums, restaurants, grocery stores, and transportation are all close. We loved walking along the Seine in the evening or enjoying a glass of wine along the Rue de Buci. The studio is close enough that we returned to put our feet up in the afternoon before going out again. It was a cozy and cheery home away from home. We highly recommend!
Our goal for this trip to Paris was to visit cathedrals, museums, and do some painting and sketching along the Seine. The Studio St-Germain apartment was perfectly situated for all of those activities as it has an enviable location right in the heart of everything we wanted to do. There are many fine bistros, markets, boulangeries, and great shopping within easy walking distance of the flat. I took very pleasant strolls down to the river in the mornings, set up and painted for several hours, while my fiancée went shopping, sketched, and found excellent places for us to explore and eat in the afternoons. This was our first VRBO rental in Paris, as we have always stayed at hotels there before, but it won't be our last. If you have not tried a flat in Paris, it is so much better than staying in a hotel; the ability to prepare some simple meals and have a pleasant breakfast together before each day's activities saved us quite a bit of money as Paris can be an expensive place to visit. When you are trying to choose a flat in the 6th Arrondisement and other areas, I highly recommend Thierry's properties. Thierry is an excellent host and is very helpful, without being obtrusive in the least. On our next trip to Paris, we will definitely look for Paris Best Lodges on VRBO to make our selection for a flat.
[Note, other reviews have mentioned the steps up to the flat, but that is the reality in most Paris apartments. I'm 62 and have bad knees, but I did not find the steps a problem at all. In fact, I lost 5 pounds on our trip to France, even while drinking fine wine and eating some very good (i.e., rich) meals and my personal downfall, the excellent desserts (on that happy note, walk over to Un Dimanche à Paris, just a short stroll away from the flat, their desserts are divine and the service is excellent). I attribute that serendipitous weight loss to all the walking and the daily trips up and down the 54 steps to the flat, so it was a good thing for me.]
We enjoyed a wonderful stay in this apartment. Great studio packed with all of the essentials. Super comfortable bed and very clean. It was nice to have a cozy haven to retreat to after the hustle and bustle of busy Paris. Right in the heart of the city. Short walk to some of the major sights. Be aware there are steps to manage, but we are in our mid-sixties and it was not a problem. We had the most wonderful and helpful landlord you could ask for! We hope to return someday.
