Great get away

  • 4 of 5

The location and views of the river were just what we needed to relax and get away from the daily grind. The property was clean and we felt very comfortable and at-home there. We would love to come back in the spring or fall when the weather would be more comfortable to enjoy the great deck on the back of the house. The walkway to the river was very steep, so not ideal for most elderly. Be extra careful when making your way to the river. We hoped to see more deer and wildlife. I think we may have seen a fox right behind the house one evening. It's quite a ways from town but we enjoyed the rural setting. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it was a little pricey for what it was. It could have been stocked better with basic items for cooking such as salt and pepper. Also the coffee table leg was broken when we arrived and we were worried the whole time that it was going to fall over. There is no cell services, the wifi is extremely slow and there is no land line to use. So if there was an emergency we would not have been to call for help. Overall it was a great rental.

Paradise in Wimb

  • 4 of 5

This place is as beautiful as it looks. The river access is spectacular, the deck is lovely and the house is great. The house was clean and neatly kept.

Only reason I'm not at 5 stars is that the hot tub needed to be cleaned. Lots of floating debris (I think dead leaves). Other than that, it was beautiful!

Wonderful place to relax

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week enjoying the river and relaxing here. There is a beautiful view of the river from the deck, and we spent many evenings sitting on the deck and watching the deer. Some of the deer even ate apples right out of our hands ! Even though there was a drought, the part of the river where we had access was still nice and deep, we swam, fished and swung from the rope swing. There was also a nice walking trail that leads down to a park area. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of space for our family. We loved warming up in the hot tub in the evenings after a cool river swim. There always seemed to be a nice breeze outside, and plenty of shade trees around. It was a nice respite from the blazing Texas Heat. The owners provided a book of fun things to do in the area, and we took advatange of a few. I highly recommend the Aquarena Center, and the glass blowing demonstration. We enjoyed eating at Marco's, and Brewster's Pizza, as well as cooking out on the charcoal grill provided on the back porch. We also loved looking around in the all of the neat little stores in town. It was a great week, and we hated to leave. I understand now why they call Wimberly " a little piece of heaven."

A nice place

  • 3 of 5

Our stay was pleasant and the property was clean and well maintained. About the only issue I can highlight as a negative was the sound of the hot tub which unfortunately produces a continuous hum when you are on the exterior deck. And the coffee pot was really slow. Other than that, everything was as advertised.

Owner's Response: We are happy the guests enjoyed this property, we have many repeat guests that return year after year to this beautiful place. The coffee pot has since been cleaned with vinegar and it running properly (thank you for alerting us to it). As for the hot tub it has to run continuously in order to keep the chemicals circulating which keeps the tub clean and sanitized, addtionally it is also needed to get the temperature up to the desired degree once the guest arrives and adjusts the thermostat. Unfortunately it does create a low humming noise when running continuously but this is unavoidable.

A wonderful weekend

  • 5 of 5

What an enjoyable experience! The house was as good if not better than the pictures... It was super clean and you could tell a well loved second home!

We loved sitting on the porch and just taking in the view. The water was perfect for swimming too! We can't wait to go back.
