Tranquility at its finest

Gorgeous home. Best view around. Peaceful street. Everything you need in the home. 1 con only is having to spend my last morning washing all the linens and being unable to enjoy it

Nice View

  • 3 of 5

This home was satisfactory for our family of five adults. We stayed 3 nights. There is no central air conditioning, only window units. When you arrive, you will find several pages of instructions. This was a little intimidating at first, I begin to worry about all the rules. We have been renting homes for over 25 years, never stayed in a rental with so many do's and don'ts. For example there is a stern warning about being charged extra if you don't wash all the linens and towels before checking out, must not leave more than 2 loads to be washed or you will be fined! (Yes, we paid a cleaning fee). We had an early flight out of Boston, I had to get up at 5:30 to be sure the laundry was done before leaving!

This is a lovely home with older appliances, 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. I would NOT recommend for elderly because of the fact that all the bedrooms are upstairs and also because the master bath tub is rather high, my husband slipped and fell getting out. I would be reluctant to bring children, too many house rules.

The owner was quick to respond and kept in touch by text messaging. My overall impression is that this rental is treasured by the owners, not a business investment like most rentals. It is located in a small town, few shopping options.

I would suggest they invest in extra set of sheets and extra towels, this would ease the housekeepers job and the renters peace of mind!

Also a laundry basket would be helpful.

Restaurant recommendation-42 Degrees- Best Baked Lobster EVER!!

Owner's Response: Nancy and I were disappointed to learn that you found the laundry requirements to be a burden but ,given the typical 4hr window of opportunity to clean the house and do the laundry between tenants, it is a challenge. We do have extra sets of sheets for all the bedrooms but this doesn't eliminate the need to launder, dry and store the dirty linens and towels so that the next tenant finds the house clean and in order as you did when you arrived. You are right about the fact that we "treasure" this house and that is why we try to keep it in top shape so our renters can enjoy the house as much as we do and feel "at home" as opposed to it just being in a rental.

Terrific home with AWESOME views!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary at this perfect place! My sister and her husband also joined us and we had a great time touring through Cape Cod and Boston/Salem. The location of this home is excellent- close to downtown Plymouth and a manageable drive to Plymouth and Kingston train stations. The neighborhood was very quiet and we felt secure.

You must get up and watch the sunrise over the bay- priceless! There are great views from upstairs and down! Nancy was great to work with- if we get back that way we will stay again.

Wonderful Vacation at a Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I took our two children, 20 and 21 and one of their friends on vacation at this beautiful home. The views are breathtaking and the house is wonderful. They had plentiful beach towels available for our use. We did a few day trips to Gloucester and Boston.

If you can, book a whale watching tour from the New England Aquarium, it is definitely worth it and you get to see them up close. We also spent a day at Harding Beach on the Cape. Then went to check out the Chatham Lighthouse Beach. You can't swim there, because of possible sharks and you're only allowed 30 minutes for parking, but it is a beautiful beach and we saw some seals. The Chatham lighthouse was featured in the true story movie "The Finest Hour". Where a crew of 4 left the Chatham Coast Guard Station, in a 36 foot wooden motorized lifeboat, on a mission to rescue 32 crew members off the oil tanker, Pendleton in February 1952 during a Nor'easter.

It was so enjoyable to get back to relax at your own slice of paradise away after the day trips and getting away from the hustle and bustle. Also make sure to wake up early, at least once, to enjoy a relaxing moment at sunrise. It's so peaceful, calm and beautiful and it will give you a great moment to remember. It was fascinating to watch the early boats out in the morning just fishing quietly on Cape Cod.

The kitchen had a very nice variety of spices. I recommend going to get groceries at the Market Basket in Bourne, we bought lobsters for $4.99/lb and they had a great selection of items to choose from.

We highly recommend this beautiful home if you're looking to make some great and enjoyable memories on your vacation. Nancy is a pleasure to deal with and she is quick to get back with you.
