We are your hosts. Sandy Toshiyuki and the husband Frank Soracco. Frank has lived in Venice since 1969 and I have lived here since we married in 1979. We worked at a restaurant we owned in Marina del Rey for many years. We gave up day to day management recently but we still keep our hand in a bit. However we can still make a great Martini. Our Vacation rental is a Father in Law unit, in our house, where my dad lived for 8 years until he died in 2004. After he died Frank remodeled the unit as a guest room for friends an relatives. When so few came to visit and Frank couldn't stand having an idle asset so when friends told him about VRBO, he joined up. Having HOTEL 508 next door has been a great joy for us as we have met many wonderful people from all over the world and we look forward to meeting many more.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 1973
When I first moved to Southern California in 1969 to open a restaurant with my bother Peter I rented an apartment in the Venice Canals. Two years later when the landlord raise my rent to what I thought was an amount that might cover a mortgage payment I went house hunting. Venice was an almost a slum back in those days and prices were cheep. Venice is now one of the hippest neighbor hoods in LA.
We live here all the time and never go on vacation for a change of climate only for a change of scenery.

Frank & Sandy,
Thank you for letting us stay in your beach home! This is my first time in LA and I could not have wished for a better experience. We loved your home and how close it was to the beach and all of the shops & restaurants. For future visitor, definitely check out GREEN LEAF for great food and drinks ( walking distance ) and LOSE CAFE for the most amazing dinner and cool bar ( 2 miles ) We'll send you a canvas of us ( smily face ).
Thanks again , can't wait to come back!!

It was everything advertised and more. I have already recommended to friends coming to LA area. Frank was very gracious and helpful.
Parking was easy. Property was clean. Hope to make it back again.
Frank is awesome! The neighborhood is pretty quite for being so close to Venice Beach. We had a wonderful stay!
From the moment we arrived Frank and Sandy made us feel as if we were one of the family, What Frank didn't know about Venice Beach was not worth knowing, has a wealth of information!. the apartment and area was PERFECT, ten minute walk to Beach/Shop's in a safe and quiet location. we will go back!
Frank was great to work with, and he and his wife were friendly and accommodating. The rental is as pictured, and the bed was surprisingly comfy (I have back problems). It's ~10 min walk to the beach down Windward Ave and only a block or so from Abbott Kinney. I used Lyft, but I noticed that street parking was not bad during weekdays. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. I wanted to come back in October but they book fast! And for good reason. Looking forward to my next visit.
Stayed 5 nights here and it was the perfect location walking to the beach, canals and Abbott Kinney with plenty of shops and restaurants. We used Aloha Brothers surf School for lessons and they met us right near the house. Frank was right next door if we needed anything. We will definitely be back and stay right here. Thanks Frank!
Studio is a short walk to the heart of Venice Beach and an even shorter walk the the heart of Abbott Kinney Blvd. There are many good restaurants near by and a couple of very good ones as well as a hot bar scene. Abbott Kinney is a wonderful street to walk while looking at the people and shops. There are very interesting shops offering everything from home furnishings to hip clothes for both men and women. A little longer walk gets you to Santa Monica or Marina del Rey. The Venice Canals with many outstanding contemporary homes is close by.
