this property is 40' from the water and has 2 partially wooded acres with very ample parking. The lake is deep and spring fed for crystal clear water. There are 2 connecting lakes with over 400 acres of water. Lake is perfect for swimming, fishing, and skiing. There are a total of 4 bathrooms , 2 are full and 2 are 1/2 baths . there are two staircases to the second floor. one is a spiral staircase and one staircase is a standard staircase with straight stairs and a railing.
Even though the temps weren't hot, we enjoyed the beauty of Phantom Lake and the flexibility the house and dock provided. The lake was crystal clear and great for swimming and boating. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. We appreciated the wi-fi connection, the dish TV, washing machine, dryer and well-stocked kitchen. There's plenty of room for big family get-togethers both inside and outside. We had an immediate rescue by the owner when the coffee pot quit brewing. We'll be back...
Our daughter was getting married in Dousman and our side of the family had never been to Wisconsin. We needed a place to stay and this fit the bill perfectly! We slept 14, including kids, and were not crowded at all. There's a beautiful upper deck for the mornings and evenings, but I preferred the lower area w/ a lawn chair next to the fireplace in the morning. I thought there were mosquitoes in Wi. but all we saw were lightening bugs.
Work remote, watch the sun come up and listen to the fish jump at the same time.
There are about 6 TV's but I don't know why with a lake just outside the door and 3 boats. The water is so clear you can stand on the dock and watch the fish swim by. The huge BBQ worked great for feeding the whole crew. I guess we hit the perfect time at the end of June, temps were mid-70 in the day and it got pretty chilly in the evening, which just makes the hot tub that much better.
It wasn't a problem for us but you should realize that there are a fair amount of stairs so I wouldn't recommend it if you have mobility problems.
Rick was very helpful with descriptions and recommendations, he walked us through everything when we arrived. I'm not know for giving away recommendations, but his place earned it!

This is a great house for extended family or friends. Multiple gathering spots inside + out.
The house is lived in & comfortable. Bohemian chic. Lots of interesting art, musical instruments, games, books and comfortable furniture. Reasonably child-resistant.
Excellent customer service. The owner answered the phone in 3 rings. No voice mail.
Good Internet connectivity and a secluded basement room where two of us could do a little remote work.
Plenty of bathrooms and bathing options. The steam-shower has an in ground tub at the back. Every single day someone in our group makes fun of the guy who complained about it. There is a big jacuzzi tub big enough for a small family or a big couple. It's in the central bathroom for access by all.
Great floor plan, with bedrooms at the back of the house for napping kids or grandparents. The bedrooms are serviceable, with a TV in each one. Not Hilton-glamorous, but Quaker clean and comfortable.
The dock is easy to get to, the steps and dock are in good repair. The water is clean and great for swimming. Lots of life jackets and water toys available.
This is a rustic, lived in property, with nothing of substance to complain about. If you want spit and polish like at the Hilton, go to the Hilton. If you want to relax with your kids and grandkids and see every one play and have a great time, this is the place to come.
This is our third summer to enjoy this lovely, lakeside property on Phantom Lake. The new stove top and wi-fi connection were an added bonus. We hit a hot and humid time, but the air conditioning kept us very comfortable when we weren't in the water. We couldn't have enjoyed our two weeks of family time in a better way. The owner is most helpful to answer questions and has maintained the property well.
This house really does have it all. Beautifully decorated, with all the accommodations you may. The owner greets you upon arrival to walk you around the home and property showing you where everything is and answering any questions you may have. Saying this home is fully equipped would be an understatement. Kitchen has it all, sharp knives, great cookware, blenders, food processer, plenty of cutlery, spices, oils, vinegars, anything you need it's here. The home is clean and well maintained. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and large TV. The main bath upstairs has a sauna/steam room with a rain forest shower head and bath tub, even a heated towel rack, with the main bath on the lower level having a large Jacuzzi tub. There is also a standing shower stall in the laundry room. Each bathroom has plenty of soap, shampoo, and toilet paper to last weeks. The Wee on the T.V. in the loft, kept the kids busy while the adults enjoyed the a fire and lake view out side. Plenty of wood is on site. A beer cooler is installed in the main kitchen island, hit with the boys. The hot tub overlooking the lake was a wonderful way to view the sunset. It only takes about an hour to heat so make sure you pay attention to the owner when he walks you around, my husband did not, so we missed out on this for the first three nights until he figured out how to turn it on. The water is clear and great for swimming. There is a, half circle, three step, stairway leading into the lake off of the pier. If you have little ones, this is a really nice touch. There are also life vest for all ages, even toddlers. Paddle boat, canoe, and pontoon boat are also included. The lake is very calm, and canoeing it in the morning /evening was a great alternative to a normal workout routine. The pontoon boat is wonderful for relaxing rides, but also had the power to pull the kids around during the day. It is tow ready and equipment also available at the home. I might add that allot of rentals offer pontoon boats for a fee with their properties, average $500 to $700 for the week. We have our own boat, and after taking the pontoon out, we never put ours in the water. The boat maneuvered well for fishing, relaxing and towing. The fishing is also great directly off of the pier, and yes, the home even has fishing poles. We will be back again!
We returned for another great, family get-away. It may have been dry in Wisconsin, but Phantom Lake was cool and refreshing. We loved all the water options, raft, dock, pontoon boat, paddle boat, and canoe. The view of the lake is great and the air conditioned house kept us comfortable day and night. The owner is very gracious and had everything clean and ready for our stay. It was very easy to get into Milwaukee for a Brewers baseball game and to check out a few breweries, as well as an outing to Lake Geneva.
