About Deb

We moved to beautiful West Michigan from the East Side of the State in 1990. Finding endless opportunity for outdoor recreation in Newaygo County, we built our home in 1996. Wanting to share with others, we opened our guest house in 2002.

Deb purchased this apartment in 1996

Why Deb chose Western Michigan

What a great experience

  • 5 of 5

The facilties were excellent. The servcie was top notch. What a pleasent suprise. We felt at home and the setting is breathe taking. We could not ask for more. If you are looking for a relaxing peaceful vacation look no further. The attenion to detail on facilties was surprising. This was the best value for the dollar we have experienced and we vacation and traval all over the country. The Muskegon River is a fishermans dream, the secluded setting without being far from town is great. Thank you for a great stay.

Nice place but needs TLC and updating.

  • 3 of 5

If you're looking for seclusion, this will do it! That was very nice. The steps to the river are fine, but once down by the river, there's no place to enjoy the view and fish. Too much overgrowth of trees and grass. ("He can't see the forest for the trees.")

It was comfortable, but some things need updating: Wifi was off/on, mostly off. Bring your own towels, the ones they supply have been used too many times. The queen bed sags in the middle with you laying on a slant. Some of the pans/dishes in the kitchen need replacing. Especially the frying pans, couldn't fry a decent egg no matter how much butter we used.

The place overall seems to need some freshening up.

For all the added costs (i.e. cleaning fee, additional occupancy fee, service fee...), it was a bit disappointing.

The lodging was perfect, very clean, spacious and quiet..but there are many attractions around you!

  • 5 of 5

I will be booking this place again. The fishing at the local dams were good, but I would recommend renting or bringing a boat with you there is public access to several of the lakes , dams and river. Make sure to stop at the local pizza shop in town ...we regretted that we didn't visit it till our last day.

Great spot

  • 5 of 5

Great place, tucked away in the woods. Deb was awesome. Put their fire pit to good use. Fishing guide picked us up at a tie off spot right beside the house. Very convenient. The wifi is pretty spotty, but that's the only complaint. Would rent again.
