Sleeps 6. 3 bedroom barn. Beautiful grade 2 listed stone barn conversion cottage which has been recently upgraded. Middle Barn is set in a quiet countryside location close to many stunning beaches, castles, the Northumberland National Park, golf courses and the historic market town of Alnwick. It is half a mile from the nearest village pub / restaurant and shop. The cottage features all the home comforts that you would expect and more.

Middle Barn is a 3 bedroom cottage with 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom, bathroom / shower room, a large sitting room with wood-burning stove, kitchen / dining room with all equipment for keen cooks and a downstairs WC / sink. Outside the property has a large enclosed, private courtyard to the front and a lawned garden to the rear with parking for up to 4 cars.

We love this area because it offers everything you could want. It combines the most beautiful countryside and coastline with lovely towns and villages and friendly people. There are a number of excellent pubs in the area which offer good ale & great food.

What makes this cottage unique

Our cottage is very well appointed and feels like home. It's the one place we get a good nights sleep. It's very cosy, relaxing and peaceful. We have a queue of relatives and friends who love to visit Middle Barn. We enjoy the beautiful countryside and its wildlife, friendly people and proximity to beach, countryside and historic attractions.

Lovely relaxing break with my wife, her mam and dad and our pet dog Dougie. We were only a very short drive from some lovely beaches at newton by the sea and Beadnell... and some nice little pubs. The ship did a lovely pint and had a friendly atmosphere and we ate at the jolly fisherman at Crastet(crab sandwich was amazing!) both pubs welcoming us and our dog in :-) the area is stunning and would definitely reccommmend. The cottage was also lovely and allowed us to relax on an evening and even have a competitive game of scrabble. The place just had character and was ideal for our break. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend !

There are many golf courses in the area, the nearest is the beautiful Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club, a links course in Embleton which is 3 miles away. There are also a number of other excellent courses within a 10 mile radius which include Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnmouth, Foxton and Warkworth.

It is 3 miles to a choice of stunning beaches at Newton by the Sea and Embleton. There are also many more golden sandy beaches along the coast.

The property is accessible by car being 3 miles from the A1 and 8 miles to Alnmouth station & 45 minutes from Newcastle Airport.

The historic market town of Alnwick is 8 miles away. It is 12 to Bamburgh and 25 miles to Berwick. The nearest city is Newcastle upon Tyne which is 45 miles away.

Fishing - day tickets can be obtained for nearby rivers such as the Till and Coquet. Sea fishing trips are available at Seahouses (6 miles away). Squash at Alnwick squash club. The nearby beaches are suitable for kite surfing, windsurfing and canoeing.

Notes:
The property is thoroughly cleaned on a Friday and the linen is changed. Please bring your own towels. There is a private, enclosed south facing courtyard with furniture for alfresco dining, including a parasol. It is ideal for BBQ s and a real sun trap. The back garden has a lawned area washing line and small shed containing garden chairs and beach toys. There is ample parking for 4 cars.

Superb cottage. Would highly recommend it.

This is our second stay at Middle Barn and as before it provided us with a cosy and comfortable base in which to explore the beautiful Northumberland coast and countryside. The cottage is spacious, very well equipped, warm and comfortable. It has a super safe courtyard to the rear for dogs and very young children and a lovely lawned garden overlooking fields with horses in them to the front. A ten minute drive south via the A1 takes you to Alnwick where you will find many shops and supermarkets and everthing you would need for the duration of your stay. A short 5min drive will take you to the gorgeous beaches at Embleton and Lower Newton by the Sea as well as a selection of lovely Pubs/Inns that serve good food and are happy to welcome dogs. The cottage is quiet and peaceful with very comfy beds guaranteeing a good night's sleep after long days spent in the fresh sea air. Due to it's rural setting you will need to use your car to get out and about but the roads are quiet and make for pleasant driving so don't be put off by this. Overall I would highly recommend it.

Charming family cottage ideal for relaxing and sightseeing.

We had a wonderful relaxing few days at Middle Barn; the cottage was clean, cosy and tastefully decorated. The cottage felt spacious and was ideal for family groups. It's ideal location meant that all the local villages and beaches were easily accessible by car. We will definitely be back again.

Fantastic Holiday

Our second time at Middle Barn and just as enjoyable for all, including the dogs! Very lucky with the weather, BBQs in the courtyard, lots of lovely walks, golf and even a fun fair in Seahouses for the younger ones.

Highly recommend The Bait Box in the car park at Beadnell for amazing sandwiches for lunch.

The house is so well equipped we wanted for nothing. It was spotlessly clean on arrival. Comfy beds. Everything you could possibly need was there.

Such a beautiful part of the world. Will definitely return again - in fact it was very depressing to leave, we could very happily stayed on for another week!
