Hi there! I was born and raised in South Florida and that there is where I still reside with my wife and 3 children. Living down here in paradise where it’s always summer is great, but when we go on vacation we like to head up to the mountains for a change of scenery. We like Maggie Valley, NC because you get you experience all the seasons. Our goal is to visit our home 4 times a year, one visit for each season. There is so much to do and see no matter what season it is.
We have put a lot of work into our house in order to make it feel like your own home away from home. During your stay with us, we hope enjoy all the amenities that the home as to offer. You will love as do I love the altitude of 3900 feet and being so close and private in nature. The views make for a wonderful relaxing visit with so many great restaurants, friendly hometown people and all that nature has to offer. The spring is awesome with all the new spring flowers and rebirth and the fall is just as splendorous in colors bursting out in every direction.
Watching the beautiful Carolina birds soar by, with wildlife galore, as well as the peace and tranquility that our home offers with all it's privacy and seclusion makes you feel like Heaven. The hot tub on the deck is a perfect place to look up at the stars on a clear night, watch the fireworks from above as never before, and the clouds create a multitude of fascinating views after a small shower or slight temperature change. The cool night temperatures make night time so restful with the doors and windows open in the summer. Imagine having to cuddle under the quilts on a clear summer night, while the crickets and frogs sing their night time songs.

Dear Jeannie and Joe,
Now we have spent our 2nd Thanksgiving in your beautiful home. Everything was as perfect as last year, with a few new memories.... We went snow skiing at Cataloochee Resort (Alex's first time). The day started rough for Al, but by mid-day he had his own fan club!! It was very fun and everyone was so nice....Even the ski instructor who had to help me up after Al plowed me over! We wanted to horse back ride at Cataloochee ranches but there was too much snow on the ground. I would recommend the stables at Queens as the horses appear much better cared for. Not to mention it's a few miles up the mountain the views are fabulous. Of course we went to Waynesville and ate at Nick and Nates....a few times. It's so good and I would tell anyone that you must try their pizza and beer. Other things we did were shopping in Cherokee, lots of hot tub time, lots of cozy fires, and cooked a yummy Thanksgiving feast - just for the two of us. There is a must have recipe in the Southern Living cookbook above the microwave - "Sweet Potato Surprise" - My second year making it. It is so good I had it printed on my Christmas cards to share with family and friends. Well - until next time.... thank you for making our holiday perfect. We love your home.
P.S. The recliiner is a great addition!!!!!

My husband and I (along with our Chihuahua) stayed at Falcon Ridge August 8-15, 2009. We absolutely loved it! The cabin was beautiful and had all the essentials of home. The view was incredible, especially from the hot tub. We enjoyed grilling out on the balcony and saw all types of wildlife including wild turkeys! The owners also called to check on us and the status of the cabin upon our arrival to ensure that we were satisfied and didn't have any questions or concerns. The cabin was also located close to several attractions: Ghost Town, Cherokee, Wayensville, and several wonderful restaurants,. We would highly recommend this cabin and plan on vacationing here again in the future!
We spent NYE at Falcon Ridge with another couple and our fur babies. We very much enjoyed our stay. The view was breath taking. And the drive up will take the breath away from you too. Those pin hair turns are NO JOKE. We spent one day in Waynesville and another day in Bryson City. We took a train ride and found a couple water falls. We cooked a couple meals at the house, in the stocked kitchen. The only down fall to our stay was the lack of hot water. It seemed as if only two people got a shower before the others were taking them in the cold. Very clean! Beds were okay. Overall, good stay!
We very much enjoyed staying at Falcon Ridge in Maggie Valley. The kitchen was well stocked (although the knives were very dull). The hot tub was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the fire place. The cabin size was just right for my husband and I (and our dog). We drove to the Biltmore, drove through the Smokey Mountains National Park, and ate at Joey's Pancake house. All were great! Would definitely recommend to others. Negatives: The hot water ran out if my husband and I tried to each take a shower, one right after the other. Needed to wait a few minutes in between, and if we'd just run the dish washer, I ended up with only cold water to rinse off the soap. Otherwise, the only real complaint would be having to take the trash to the dump ourselves. Seems like you could add the $5 charge (that you would have charged if we had left the trash) into the cost of the room and taken care of the trash for us and just not mention the price; that would seem like better customer service. The dump wasn't far away, and they didn't charge us, so it seems like a simple amenity for you to add, considering that we are already paying $150 a night. $155 a night wouldn't be noticeable, but a $5 'fine' seems a bit insulting. Just a thought. Otherwise, I couldn't have asked for more! Thanks so much for opening your home to us!
It was a joy to visit Falcon Ridge again. Ironically we had booked the same week this year that we had 4 years ago (our first visit). The location is just great and the view from the mountain top is fabulous! I read some of the other reviews while visiting and I could understand their feelings when riding the winding mountain to the top for the first time. It is a little scary but after a few trips all that is behind you. We love to visit the local shops and restaurants in Maggie Valley but out true adventure is getting in the truck and riding the roads to places like Cataloochee and Cade's Cove to see the bear and elk. On our first visit, we were fortunate to arrive at Cataloochee early one morning as the elk were coming out of the woods. We have some great photos and movies of that adventure. We also visited Clingman's Dome, Cherokee and rode into Gatlinburg. Although we were a little late in the season visiting, there still was some great color and we got some great photos and movies of our trip. What better place to relax, after an adventurous day, than the comfort of Falcon Ridge (it's like home away from home). The home is always neat and clean and all the amenities you would ever need however long your stay. When friends ask "Where did you stay?" I always gladly give them all the details about Falcon Ridge! One sad note about our stay this time, is the fires that were going on nearby. Since our visit, Gatlinburg has been devastated by the fires and our prayers go out to all the families in the area that are affected by this tragedy. We love the mountains of NC and Falcon Ridge!
The property is absolutely beautiful and the view is stunning. Everything was very clean and we had no problems with any appliances, heaters, bathrooms, etc. I had a few questions that I had to e-mail and ask the owners and they responded very quickly. I would definitely recommend Falcon Ridge to anyone who is planning to visit this area and would like a very relaxing and beautiful place to stay.
We had the most wonderful stay at Falcon Ridge. A review will do no justice for how beautiful and like home it is. The initial drive up was shocking but after that it was pretty easy and fun (we have a jeep) but any front wheel drive vehicle will do just fine. Coffee on the deck watching the sun cover the mountains in the morning was heaven. I stayed in maggie valley a few times as a little girl so having a view of the entire town from our deck was priceless. Falcon ridge is also very convienant to Asheville, Cherokee, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, which we explored quite a few times so having the hot tub to come back and relax in and view the stars and lights of maggie valley was amazing. Thank y'all for sharing your home with us and our doggies!
MUST SEE attractions include Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Resort and Snow Tubing, Cherokee Indian Reservation and museum, Harrahs Casino in Cherokee (17 mi), Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway with miles and miles of scenic views of the Great Smoky Mountains and Blue Ridge, Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, Ghost Town in the Sky Amusement Park, Whitewater Rafting, Biltmore Estate and Winery, Antiquing, Hiking, Shopping, Horseback Riding and lots more. Within a short drive you can see the roaming elk in the Cataloochee Valley of the Park, Mountain Farm Museum and Mingus Mill. Only 1 hour away, on the other side of Smoky Mountains National Park, you can visit Dollywood, Gatlinburg, Ripley's Aquarium and museum, and Cades Cove auto loop. So much to see and do!
