We were 3 families who stayed two nights to go skiing at Homewood Resort. This place was perfect for our needs. Plenty of space, clean and only a 10 minute drive to the slopes. We had a few questions for the owner and she was very responsive, answering any questions within an hour. She also allowed us to check out late which was a great help to us. Our experience was all positive and I can easily recommend this place to anyone who is considering staying a few nights in the Tahoe area.
A group of us (12) stayed over at Mrs. Wilcox's home the last weekend, and there was space for all of us. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. Altogether we had a great time, and Mrs. Wilcox was very understanding when we had to check out late due to heavy snowfall. The location is perfect, a five minute drive to the Homewood ski resort and the general store, and a bit longer to Squaw Valley.
We spent theee nights on this property and loved it! Plenty of room, comfortable beds, cozy bedrooms, fantastic location!
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because we had a toilet malfunction and it got fixed on the day of our departure.
Bring your own toilet paper if you are a big group!
Also the garbage enclosure got snowed in and we couldn't find it, so the garbage didn't get picked up on time.
We loved the wood stove - it kept us warm during the blackout and helped us dry our clothes after playing in the snow. We even cooked breakfast on it! (There is plenty of firewood on the back porch)
Would definitely come again - thank you, Nancy!
The house was stunning! The outside looks like a typical Tahoe home, once you walk indoors the are so many directions to go and things to see. It is 5 bedrooms, downstairs has 1 queen bedroom, 1 daybed with a trundle bed to pull out (this room has a slide to the back patio). Upstairs has a master bedroom with 1 king bed, 2 of the other rooms both have a queen bed and a twin in it. The little game room upstairs has two twin mattresses stacked to use and some padding that can be used for sleeping. There is an upstairs large patio with charges. Upstairs has a full bath/shower/toilet bathroom, then a toilet room with a nearby vanity outside the door, then there is a single stand up shower. There is a washer and dryer upstairs.
Downstairs has a full bathroom. The living room has 3 nice couches and two seats (like recliners, but do not recline). There is a large kitchen table that can comfortably fit at least 10 people, maybe even more. The kitchen has nice granite counter tops, a flat surface stove. There are toasters, coffee maker, tons of dishes, cups, bowls, etc.
The pictures do not so this house justice! Everything is beautiful, the beds are soft and comfy! Pretty much all you need to being is your food/drinks, clothes, and your company...the house has the rest.
It is a few miles from the lake, and about 30 mins from the casinos. Great location! Quiet neighborhood. Loved every bit of our stay. Owners were pleasant to work with.
Only suggestion is to bring a fan if your stay in summer and prefer air movement. Will def stay again in the near future!
We rented this home for a ski week with a couple other families who came and went during the week. It really was perfect. Very easy and comfortable for 2 families to share. Our children loved the backyard woods & creek, and we all loved the convenience to Homewood. We got a ton of snow the day we left, and there was plenty of helpful information left by the owners to help us get our cars out. We look forward to staying here again. Thank you so much!
This is a very nice home in a quiet neighborhood in the middle of the CA side of Lake Tahoe near the entrance to the Rubicon Trail. We were a group of 6 adults and 5 kids and never felt cramped at all. Plenty of space, hot water, bathrooms, etc. The owners responded quickly to questions and refunded our deposit in short order. Thank you for allowing us into your home!
