It does not get any better than this! This hand-crafted Amish Log Cabin is the perfect place to bring the family or friends for a long weekend of relaxation. The 10 x 30 deck that overlooks Hales Creek is the place where you'll want to sit and watch the sunset and unwind after a day of exploring all that the area has to offer. In the evening, load up the fire pit and toast a marshmallow or two!
Yet only minutes from there, you can find lakes and rivers to swim, boat or canoe on, or take your quads to the hundreds of miles of ATV trail that go through Jackson and Clark County. For those that enjoy winter sports, bring your snowmobiles or go down the road to Bruce Mound for sking and snow-tubing. Majestic Pines casino is nearby along with many other local attractions, fairs and restaurants.
My husband and I, along with our friends and family, enjoy spending time in the Black River Falls area. It's everything you want in the 'northwoods!' Hunting, fishing, relaxing, great eating places, beautiful colors in the woods, and lot's of indoor or outdoor activities. We started working with an Amish group there a few years ago and started building log cabins together. We've begun to rent them out to others and enjoy sharing our knowledge of the area with the new comers! We tend to have lot's of repeat guests, because once you get a feel for the slower pace of the area, you'll want to come back!
Jennifer Pulley purchased this cabin in 2005
The family has been coming to the area for 50 years and this gave us a reason to keep coming. It's easy to get there, private, yet close to local fun.
We chose this cabin for an extended family winter getaway, since it seems the only time we get together are the major holidays and those pass so quickly! My husband, sons and I, my parents ("Grandma & Grandpa"), and my sisters, their husbands, and their kids all got together for a weekend. During the day the guys took the kids snow-tubing at Bruce Mound (only 4 miles away) while the ladies spent some relaxing time together. Lots of shopping (crafts, antiques, etc.) nearby. At night after a big supper (we grilled out on the deck!) we played cards/board games. The open space of the great room was perfect; we had two game tables going at once! The biggest surprise was the in-floor heat. Very cozy! Lots of comfortable sleeping space and 2 1/2 baths. The decor is rustic and beautiful. The kitchen is wonderful, the views out the many windows and off the deck are gorgeous. The cabin is a great central location and easy to find. Very clean and well-maintained. Friendly service. We definitely will be back!
Nice cabin upstairs. Down stairs construction, not the best. Have to plug in jacuzzi tub with cord. Beds are really small. I slept in recliner. No access to main trails that I could find. Nice cabin overall, but overpriced for what it is. Have stayed in much nicer ones for less money.
To celebrate their middle school graduation, I took six soon-to-be 9th graders to the Creekside Cabin for a few days of "just us boys" fun. We had an incredible time. The fellas had 3 on 3 battles with airsoft guns all around the creek area and did some fishing in Lake Arbutus. We had fires and s'mores, tossed the football around, and walked the woods for hours. The Creekside Cabin couldn't have been more perfect for what we needed -- and stayed nice and cool even when the temperature was in the mid-90s outside. Jennifer Pulley, the owner, couldn't have been easier to work with. What a blast. I'm hoping to do it again with the same group of boys some time in the future.
We spent the weekend with family and It was a great place to reconnect. It was warm but the bedrooms are in the basement so we slept well. During the day We went to the local county park and spent the day swimming. The kitchen is fully equipped and we prepared all our meals there. Overall a wonderful property. The area is quiet. I especially liked the deck overlooking the creek.
Our family spent the weekend and had a wonderful time. The cottage is wonderfully rustic and everything was well maintained. Back porch was amazing and the creek was fun to fish. We have 3 adult children and had more then enough room for all of us to be cozy yet comfortable. My sons friend ended up joining us and we never felt overcrowded. The table, counters and beds are made out of logs and add to the country feel of the home. The cabin is very close to the road but we still sat out by the bonfire each night and enjoyed the quiet peacefulness of the place. Mornings were spent on the deck in the back watching a bald eagle make its rounds and listening to the birds and the creek flowing.
The layout of the place was great for us. Having the sleeping and showers on the lower level was perfect for those that wanted head to bed or wash up while the rest of us played cards or hung out upstairs. The kitchen table is large and accommodated us all comfortably. This is a rustic log cabin situated in the middle of Wisconsin and is exactly what we hoped for. Thank you for the great family weekend.
We needed a break. I wanted to spend a few days in the Black River Falls Area and relax. After much deliberation, we chose the creekside cabin. The cabin was clean, comfortable, well stocked, and quiet. Just what we needed. Great hiking trails nearby. Neighbors were nice. What more could we ask for? Thank you Jennifer for sharing your cabin with us. Best regards, Dave, Peggy, and dog Bodhi....
