Our stay at Nicks place was perfect. The place is beautiful, pretty spacious and very well equipped.Communication with Nick was easy and he was very forthcoming with any special wishes we had. I can only recommend this place in a pretty quiet neigborhood, with beautiful Dolores Park right nearby.
Great views from the place, and even better views from Dolores Park just a block up. Awesome neighborhood with endless eating and drinking options. Close to public transportation but you may want to walk everywhere like we did. Comfortable bed, lots of extra towels. Logistics were super smooth.
The apartment is in a quiet neighbourhood of Mission District. Location is right between 2 BART stations. Either of them are within equal walking distance. The lovely Mission Dolores Park is very close by. Bi-Rite which is few blocks away is a must-go to buy good food for self-cooking.
The building is a Victorian style antique. The 50 steps leading to the apartment is not a big problem to us except that we did spend some time to mobilize our luggage during check-in and check-out. The apartment is very spacious for us a group of 2 adults and 1 kid. Its interior is neither brand new nor modern. However we personally think that it is tastefully decorated and we like it very much. The bed in the master bedroom is a bit too soft while the single sofa bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is nice and the dim lighting there would make one feel relaxed when taking a bath. The most mordern gadgets are the Smart TV (with Netflix), Wi-Fi and the washing machine which all functioned probably during our stay. Saw some negative comment on the shared backyard, but we were fine with it because we had never used it.
Check-in and check-out were all very convenient. Actually we had never met the owner/manager in person. However he was very responsive whenever we had queries. Of course it will always make the guests feel sweeter and more convenient if a well organized welcome pack with a bit courtesy food/drink supplies could be provided.
Overall a happy and comfy stay for us. Highly recommended!
We stayed in this Mission District apartment for four nights in July. Nick was extremely easy to work with and was very prompt in responding to all my emails. The location was excellent; an easy walk to many restaurants and local corner grocery stores. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with necessary items. While the photos accurately reflect the kitchen and the bathroom, the photos of the living room and bedroom do not. The living room carpet and furniture are worn and stained. The room no longer has all the furniture in the pictures and the futon couch is uncomfortable to sit on. The bed in the bedroom is much lower to floor (I believe the mattress sits on a frame and there are no box springs) and there is no end table. The pictures of the patio are lovely, but there is no mention of this being a shared patio, which it appeared to be, and it was not well kept. All that being said, this was a fine place to stay for a couple of days, if you are not super fussy.
Great location & views, spacious, comfortable bed, good kitchen & bathroom. Would be ideal for a couple or one or two small children. The sleeping arrangement was less than ideal for our teenagers - sofa beds really not comfortable & no curtains in the living area, so bright sunshine in your eyes at 6am! Don't stay here if you have a car!! Parking in the whole area is 2 hours max. We wasted lots of time & money trying to sort out parking. We were also a little disappointed with the lack of advice on public transport & local amenities.
