Tuscany is famous for its wealth of art and monuments and its precious historical heritage, and cultural landscape. The wonderful land of Chianti offers pleasant temperatures in summer and beautiful colors of the landscape ranging from the lush green fields in the spring and summer to the warm autumn colors.

Fields in spring and summer are sprinkled with golden wheat sheaves and that provide contrast to the blue sky. And again the blue sky with thin glazes marries red poppies and yellow broom from May to July. The deep red and dark green shading into brown are the colors of autumn vines offered. Tuscan cuisine, so simple and varied, has the flavor of rural life and culture of this region, and you can not give up a classic steak "alla fiorentina", the roast, wine and olive oil produced with care by whole centuries.

Summer is also animated by theme Festivals and Celebrations festivals where scene mushrooms, wild boar soup, bread, cheese and other typical and genuine. All this is topped off by the cheap prices of these events. The Chianti area is also full of trails for hiking, mountain biking and hiking. The surroundings offer the opportunity to do horseback riding, play golf and tennis and doing balloon rides.

Proclaimed by the UNESCO World Heritage Site, San Gimignano is a beautiful medieval village.

Important and richest city in the Middle Ages thanks to the Via Francigena which crossed and trade in agricultural products of the Tuscan hills, San Gimignano holds extraordinary works of art within its convents and churches.

In its heyday the city had 72 tower-houses, partially destroyed by wars and battles. The towers were to represent the splendor of the city and the current 15 still offer the visitor an impressive display.

Of the current 15 medieval towers the tallest tower (54 m) is the Torre Grossa that is located in the Cathedral Square next to the new Palazzo del Podesta. The Collegiate Church is the Cathedral of San Gimignano and contains precious frescoes and artwork by Ghirlandaio and the Florentine school. The Town Hall houses inside the Hall of Dante who in 1300 was in San Gimignano in Tuscany as Ambassador of the League. A visit to the Archaeological Museum which houses Etruscan, Roman and Medieval recovered from excavations in the municipality.

In the Museum and Art Gallery, however, there are works by important and famous artists such as Pinturicchio.

Definately worth a visit even the Pharmacy of San Gimignano, which reproduces the old pharmacy with original objects of Pharmacy of the Hospital of Santa Fina.

Finally, San Gimignano also offers visitors a Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art.

This medieval town is notoriously famous for its Vernaccia, a prized white wine, very pleasant to be enjoyed in front of a poignant Tuscan sunset from one of the many wineries or wine bars in the city.
