My husband, Chihuahua and I spent our Christmas Vacation at this wonderful holiday retreat. Steve, the owner, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable with all the amenties of home. There is nothing you could want that he has not provided. His dvd collection is spectacular with new movies as well as old favorites. The fireplace is huge and it was great to snuggle in front of a crackling fire. With the snow on the ground and the deer out side it was truly a "Thomas Kincade Christmas."
Would definitely recommend this house and hope to go there again.
The wrap around deck would be great in the summer and this house would make the perfect vacation all year round.
We were looking for a Memorial Day weekend get away with fun nearby. This house totally met our needs. The kitchen is well equipped top to bottom--but if you're going to cook, just make sure to bring your own spices, etc. There is a grocery store nearby if needed. We enjoyed the evenings out on the screened in porch, with the deer eating in the backyard. We enjoyed breakfasts on the front part of deck. FYI--the rental agreement clearly states to bring your own towels--that includes a bath mat. We just didn't even think to bring the bath mat, and used an extra towel instead. I'd also recommend taking wipes or something, we used them wipe off the outdoor furniture because it's covered in pollen this time of year. Nothing can help that, wipe them off unless you want a green butt.
One drawback, for us, to this house was the development itself. It's not pedestrian or biking friendly. There are no sidewalks or walking paths. We found one walking path around one of the ponds. It's a beautiful setting to walk around in, but it's not walking friendly as many of the drivers seemed to disregard speed limits, passing slower cars, etc. The pools looked nice but we just chose not to use them. There were several people fishing at the one pond one evening that gets stocked with some fish, according to a local we met.
It's very close to Bushkill Falls, which was crowded but a nice hike. We also did a few things in the Delaware Water Gap, which was crazy busy. We tried two times to get in to the one visitor's center, and the road was closed because there was no room to park there. So we explored on our own. One cool place to visit in nice weather is the Marie Zimmerman Farm House, it's back a dirt road. There wasn't anyone there and we explored the property, took lots of pictures.
We didn't try any of the local restaurants, except to grab a deli sandwich from The Roost. But there did seem to be quite a few options in the area.
Great last minute find in the Poconos. Wanted to get away with my dogs and this fit the bill. Very well stocked with amenities. Everything was exactly as described in the lease. Loved sitting out on the deck and hearing the sounds of the waterfall nearby. Very relaxing!
Sheila, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with. Other than the lack of TV reception (which we easily adjusted to), the house lacked nothing.
The Saw Creek development has pools (even an indoor one), and skiing in the winter. There's also a restaurant with a bar (great prime rib). Our favorite local bar was Pub 570.
Milford is about 40 minutes away, and we ate at the Dimmick Inn (historic), Apple Valley (great prices on the bar menu), and the Grotto restaurant (BYOB).
We visited Bushkill Falls ($13.50 to get in), and Dingmans Falls and Raymondskill Falls (both free). Lots of walking at all 3. Also visited Childs Park (free).
Busy week, and Sheila bought new deck furniture while we were there.
Nice area, lots to do, well worth the cost of the rental.
We completely enjoyed ourselves this week. Loved the fireplace and the sound of Saw Creek from across the road. Can't say enough good things about this rental. Comfortable, easy to get to, lots to do. Dining options are good and within a reasonable distance. Bushkill Falls hiking trails are close by and beautiful.
The owner is pleasant and the list of where to find household items was helpful.
Saw Creek amenities were appreciated. We brought our nieces and nephew to the indoor pool at the Top of World complex to burn off energy on Saturday and on Easter Sunday while we prepared dinner. They had so much to do even though it was a 'No gadget' weekend for them.
We didn't pick the best week weather-wise, but, we still enjoyed the down time.
Would absolutely love to stay again some time.
Thank you again to the owners for making their home available. We were very satisfied with our time there and the affordability of the rental.

What a Thanksgiving to remember - the snow storm on Wed. and arriving at this comfortable, well stocked house, which was greatly appreciated since we were cooking dinner on Thurs. Grandchildren could sleigh ride down the hill in back of the house and there was plenty of room in the loft for sleeping. The fireplace topped it all off! We all went to the indoor pool and had a very good dinner at the Top of the World restaurant. Thanks to the owners for the list of items in the house and their location. We will be back again!
