Nestled among the South Carolina barrier islands, Seabrook is a private, gated community committed to the preservation of the natural beauty that is so richly present all over the island. It is home to an abundance of wildlife including deer, foxes, alligators, raccoons, and many other species. The peace and tranquility that exists on Seabrook simply must be experienced to be believed. Ocean Winds and Crooked Oaks golf courses are Audobon certified and skillfully carved into the landscape to maximize the experience of nature during each round of golf. The Tennis Center is nationally acclaimed offering a dynamic tennis experience.

Access to other amenities includes a fitness center with sweeping ocean views, an olympic size swimming pool, a driving range, an equestrian center, several restaurants, and of course, the beach. The beach experience at Seabrook is very unique in that it is extremely private. Even in the peak times of summer the beaches are very uncrowded.

We live in the Midwest, but have been vacationing in the area for many years. We decided that we would like to own a small place, and rent it to others while we are not using it.

Why Tom and Anne chose South Carolina

We purchased this villa because of its relative solitude. Seabrook Island will never have the crowds that we have experienced when vacationing in other places. It is very private and low-key. Just right for our family!

What makes this condo unique

We enjoy the fact that this villa has a pool right in the complex for a quick swim anytime. It also has a small deck and a small screen porch overlooking the marsh for enjoying morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.

Loved it here!

I was awestruck by the beauty, exclusiveness, and privacy that Seabrook Island offers. I was skeptical at first having never been in the Charleston area before, but I plan on returning each year from now on.

Seabrook Island is gorgeous -- lovely, well-maintained homes and communities. Everyone is friendly. The beach is wonderful. There were some families there each day, but we were able to find our own area (crowding is never an issue). The guard at the gate gave us an island map upon arrival and with it, we were able to get wherever we needed to go.

This condo is perfect! Clean, well-maintained and stocked with everything we could have needed (cookware, washer/dryer, towels, etc.). I stayed here with my two children (ages 10 and 15) and it was the perfect size for the three of us. The screened porch was my favorite spot - I enjoyed coffee and my book there each morning. The pool is very close by and is also very nice and well-kept. The owner of this property sent me a very detailed e-mail of information about the island and her favorite spots to shop, beach access, etc. which turned out to be so helpful to us. Additionally, she deposited my check exactly when she said she would.

We spent our days at the beach which I previously mentioned was wonderful. There was so much wildlife there - hermit crabs abound much to the pleasure of my 10 year old child. Each evening, we drove (20 minutes or so) into Charleston for dinner and activities. It wasn't a long drive at all and was well worth it. Downtown Charleston has so much to offer and is gorgeous beyond words.

The only thing that I disliked about the area was the local grocery store (I think it was called "Newton Farm" in the Freshfields Market center), which was *very expensive*, crowded, and not very well-stocked with items that I normally purchase at my home. The next time I visit, I will do my shopping at the Piggly Wiggly before I come onto the island.

Overall, I was so very pleased both with the owner of this property and the property itself. My children are already asking if we can go back!

Quiet - but updates needed!

My husband and I stayed from June 11-18, 2017 to celebrate our 21 year wedding anniversary. Here are my Pros & Cons:

Pros:

*Very Quiet (which is what we wanted). We did not want the hustle and bustle of a busy beach.

*Pool Access: Almost directly across from this unit. This was wonderful, as we are pool people. We were the only ones at the pool 98% of the time.

*Unit location: End Unit, which made for a really quiet stay. We did have the next door neighbor doing sanding/sawing work one morning, but other than that - this unit was quiet.

*Quality of the Beach: Wonderful. Though you had to pack your car to make the drive to the public access boardwalk, the beach was nice and again - quiet!

*Freshfields Village: This was the shopping/grocery village. Had great shops, a nice Harris Teeter and pretty decent eateries (the wine bar was fantastic).

*Accessibility to the Owners: I emailed them only one time, but their response time was on point.

Cons:

*Proximity to Charleston: if you are wanting to go in and out of Charleston a lot, it is not very convenient drive.

*Mattress in Unit needs to be replaced: this mattress was just plain awful (sorry, but true). Woke up on the 2nd day, needing to see the chiropractor. Made it through the 7 days, but will be seeing my personal chiropractor, for my upper back is in so much pain.

*This unit needs a grill. I get the fact that weather conditions are not ideal for a grill, but for a 7 day stay, this meant I had to broil a lot of my food. I live in an apartment and did not want to go out and purchase a small charcoal grill.

*The screened-in porch is nice, but the chairs are god awful uncomfortable. Some all-weather (which are not that expensive) rocking chairs would be nice. We could not enjoy this space, as it was too uncomfortable to sit on the existing chairs.

*Beach chairs: Could not be used, as they were so rusty, you could not open them up. Please instruct renters to bring their own, or purchase new ones.

*Cleanliness: Though the place is "tidy", it was not what I would say "clean". When we arrived, we had to do our own cleaning: refrigerator door was full of smears (of what I don't want to know), coffee make top was filthy, upstairs bathroom sink had previous renters toothpaste marks not only on the sink, but all over the wall. Lastly, the linoleum floors in the bathrooms and kitchen appear never to have been washed. I wore socks the entire time. A good deep cleaning is highly recommended.

Hidden getaway for two!

My wife and I spent 3 nights so close to everything thanks to your affordable unit.

The unit is perfect for two and very comfortable. Really cannot say anything bad considering the rental rate and location. We were there June 2017. Appears unit is slowly being updated appliance and fixture wise. Everything worked and once we figured out half the lights had dimmer switches all went well. Recommend the odd number of keys at the door be labeled and consolidated, additional hangers for the closet (only 3), and perhaps some new beach chairs as the ones provided have met the saltwater.

The Bohicket Marina and Freshfields Market offered everything we did not bring and the food was tasty at each restaurant we tried. Bike rental was a breeze but expect at least a 20 minute ride to the beach from the unit at a good pace. Beach access 7, 8, and (9 no stairs) are by far the closest and shortest for anyone with health or mobility issues. Be sure to make a trip to Angel Oak and Charleston Tea Plantation.

Great Stay!

We visited Seabrook Island in April and truly enjoyed our stay at the villa. The unit was well equipped with items we needed to cook meals. We loved the screened porch and spent a lot of time there. The owners were wonderful to work with. They even checked on us via email mid-stay to see if we needed anything. I contacted them several times prior to our stay and they always responded in a timely manner. We loved the beach access recommended by the owners. The fact that the villa is on a private island makes for beautiful beaches that aren't crowded. We spent most of our time out on the sand, and loved every minute of it. We hope to return someday soon.

Comfortable and just as described

Comfortable and just as described. We stayed in this lovely condo for five days . It was comfy cozy with a beautiful view of the marsh. The picture of the marsh in the listing doesn't do it justice. The water actually comes all the way up in the back. The kitchen was well stocked, bed was cozy and the location fantastic. You could bike to the local stores or take a tour of the island. We also enjoyed seeing the baby alligator in the pond. it was too cold to use the pool but it's right there and very convenient .We look forward to future stays.
