Micheal, Once again thanks for your great hospitality, we enjoyed our stay at the Wilderness Cottage. It was just as enjoyable as our stay in the Sunrise Lodge in Sept. Thanks for spending the evening with us enjoying the hot chocolate and Meghan's Christmas Cookies. It looked like Meghan, our two year old Grand Daughter, really enjoyed sharing her cookies with you. We had a great Christmas there in Evergreen and look forward to coming back. I think were falling in love with the town and it's people. It was nice to come home but we sure miss our Meghan. It's never fun in the airport saying goodbye to her and Tracy even said this time Meghan started crying as they left us. She's getting older now and she realized we were leaving her. She got an Ipad from Santa so now she can Skype with us, that's cool. Thanks again for everything and we really enjoyed decorating the Cottage with Christmas lights. It made it feel homey.

The Wilderness Cottage is a wonderful place to stay.
The views are outstanding and the owner is very
helpful and nice. The location is great as well. I would
suggest it to anyone interested in going to see
We stayed at this cabin for our ski trip and it was great! This was our first time in Colorado and we did not get lost or confused since the cabin was so easy to find. It's about an hour drive from the Denver Airport but it's definitely worth it because of all the scenery you see on your way to the cabin. Overall, the cabin was cozy, warm and definitely worth the price! The view from the deck is AMAZING! We just loved everything about this cabin! We will definitely book again when we do go back.
We recently had a great stay at the Wilderness Cottage. It was clean, cozy and had a nice view of the woods. We even witnessed some wildlife (deer, fox) that came nearby. Our lodge had a well equipped kitchen and offered nice central heating for those times we chose not to use the fireplace. This is definitely a mountain cottage and a challenge to drive to if one does not have the proper type vehicle. There is plenty to see and do in the area if you love the outdoors. If you want the real mountain lodge experience, this is the one!
We stayed at this cabin and it was magical! That is the only words that can describe it...the place is amazing. We got up every morning and watched the sun come up over the mountains. The cabin was perfect, we had a fire in the amazing fireplace every night and just relaxed and talked all evening. We did not even turn on the TV....amazing. The host Michael was the best.... If you want a get away from life to remember what life is suppose to be like this is the place for you! Thank you Michael for sharing this cabin with us... Cindi
My husband Chris and I with our 12 year old dog Cody spent our 12 year wedding anniversary at the Wilderness Cottage. The cabin was awesome. It's very cozy and love the wood stove which really heated the place up and was cozy (there's also a furnace). The view from the deck was outstanding. At night we went out to look up at the sky and could see the stars so clearly and there wasn't any city lights or sound. Very peaceful days and nights. Good views of sunset and sunrise. The bed is comfortable and on the firm side. The cabin is kept up also. I loved how we could just walk out the door and could hike around. There's a wonderful creek that you can hike down to which is very close by. The other cabins are walking distance but it's still private because of the trees. We befriended some wild life which was a very loveable and friendly well fed Labador that roams the area (he lives at a house nearby) and a very fluffy gray cat which loved to be petted. We did see some deer and a fox on the way to and back from the cabinbut didn't see any in the area. Michael and his wife Sue are very generous and kind. They are there if you need them. They live within walking distance. Michael and the site says all this so I'm just reiterating- This cabin is about 20-30 min away from grocery stores and gas so get a few things and wood (Kindling is provided) for a few days so you can just unpack, enjoy and relax. It's winding roads make the trip longer to town but beautiful scenery along the way. The cabin has everything except food, clothing and personal care items. They do have a hairdryer there. No telephone so bring your cell phone. We had very good coverage 4G (AT&T) and we would hot spot from the cell phone to stream and get on the internet for our other electronics so make sure you have enough on your data plan to stream. Make sure you have a good all 4 wheel drive vehicle also in the winter (Oct-May) because it will snow anytime. This is a getaway from the city so if you want a place where you want to walk to evergreen or go back and forth throughout the day stay in evergreen. We will definitely be back with our little girls every few months and bring family. Also the rest of the cabins which we could see look just as comfy and nice also. Also being pet friendly is a bonus. One of our dogs (Cody) that came with us didn't want to come home. Thank you Michael and Sue for a beautiful cabin and stay.
