SEPTEMBER is "FALL COLORS' in COLORADO. Our primary colors are from the leaves turning bright yellow and orange on the "QUAKING ASPENS". These trees mixed with the deep blue September sky, the backdrop of deep green Pine Tree Forest and the often light brushing of September pure white snow on the high mountain peeks makes for a unique combination of spectacular fall color in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The timing for fall colors is graduated by Elevation. The Higher the elevation the earlier the leaves will turn. With convenient driving distances from your vacation residence in the Evergreen Mountain Community we have Elevations starting at 6000 feet in Morrison Colorado and going all the way up to 14,400 feet in Mount Evans Wilderness. So regardless of the date you select to stay at one of our 9 Evergreen Colorado VRBO & Homeaway listed Cabins and Cottages you will be assured to be able to experience spectacular September "FALL COLORS IN COLORADO" from your vacation residence or on a Drive About.

WINTER DRIVING CONSIDERATIONS; Oct 15th thru May 15th. All Wheel/4 Wheel Drive vehicle required in Rocky Mountains during Snow Storm Conditions. Call us to discuss before you Book On-Line 303-946-0726

Rustic Log Cabin

  • 5 of 5

A fun and unique rustic log cabin with modern amenities. It is about as close to being in the wilderness as you can be without backpacking into the wilderness - yet still close enough to town to be convenient. Definitely recommended for those looking for a getaway in the woods.

Log Cabin Experience

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 3 nights at this cabin in early September. We used this cabin as our base to explore numerous places in Colorado. We loved the cabin to come back to in the evening. It was very peaceful and quiet. We would cook breakfast in the morning and then head out to explore the mountains. The cabin itself was very homey and comfortable.

Peaceful, Secluded, Rustic, Cozy, Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I came to visit family who live in Evergreen and to do some hiking and site seeing. We stayed 10 days and absolutely loved the cabin. We appreciated the seclusion, peacefulness, comfort and rustic coziness of the cabin. The drive up to the cabin at first seemed a long way from Evergreen but after we drove up and down the mountain roads a couple of times, the trip seemed so easy. We were able to make some great meals with the outfitted kitchen and gas grill. We enjoyed relaxing on the decks. The bed was very comfortable. We slept very well with the windows open a bit and in the mornings the gas stove in the bedroom took the chill off in a hurry.

We don’t watch a lot of TV but there is one if you want and it has very good reception. We brought along our wireless speaker and I-Pod so we had nice music to listen to.

We walked the Maxwell Falls trail, upper and lower and walked the trail from downtown Evergreen to the trail around Evergreen Lake and back. All nice easy walks. The trail from downtown to the lake goes under the road so you don’t have to cross the busy intersection. We had a couple of lunches at Creekside Cellars winery in Evergreen. Very good food and wine. If you want a good breakfast out, try El Rancho Brewing Co. at the intersection of Hwy 74 and I-70 (Breakfast only on weekends)

We also drove to Pike’s Peak. It was awesome but all the traffic only made us appreciate the location of the cabin all the more! We would definitely love to come back some day!

Tranquil, beautiful views, perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Thos property is fantastic! My wife and I were on a parents retreat and we couldn't have picked a more perfect place. We spent a good amount of time outside sitting on the decks and watching the deer who were near the cabin every morning. We will definately be back next year!

Perfect Secluded Log Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We saw the Log Cabin on VRBO and thought this is just what we are looking for to get out of the heat and congestion of Dallas for a couple days. We sure made the right choice as this log cabin is everything it's cracked up to be; quiet, secluded, clean, has everything you need except food and the views are stunning. Michael was soon easy to work with. We had another cabin in Colorado booked and just as we were getting to the airport on 7th we found out that our booked cabin had been double booked and we would have no place to stay. As we had stayed at Michaels cabins a few years back when we lived in Iowa we called to see if he had anything available for the 7th and 8th. He said the Log Cabin was available and he said he could have it ready for our arrival by 2PM. He texted us driving directions from the Denver airport and the rest is history. Some of the reviews say that the Cabin is a little to "Rustic". We found it to be fully modernized and comfortable yet everything you expect in the feel of an original hand hewn Colorado Log Cabin. And the road is just fine as our rented front wheel drive vehicles was all we needed. Our daughter who lives in Boulder Colorado visited overnight on Sunday with her 3 year old son who loved the sleeping loft. We cooked out on the grill, hiked down to the creek, saw a mama deer with 2 fawns 20 feet from the patio and enjoyed the cool night time temperatures in the 50s. No need for AC here. We will be back for a longer stay next year.

Thanx Michael

Clean but far more rustic than anticipated

  • 3 of 5

We ended up enjoying our stay but feel that it was not as advertised or described. And for two couples it was less than ideal. The bathroom does not have a proper door so there is no privacy when using it. The use of the double bed in the loft requires climbing up a very steep ladder from the kitchen with a difficult last step. The master bedroom had no door, so the entire cabin was open. We knew the road was rough but didn't expect to walk down 75 feet or so of a rugged uneven stepped dim pathway. Probably good for a family but not for 2 couples. The unit itself was clean. We are not new to the VRBO experience and have never had to make the beds for the people coming after us or vacuum before we leave.

Owner's Response: We thank this guest for their time to write this review but we take issue with statement that Evergreen's Log Cabin is not as advertised. It is exactly as advertised. The "listing Description" clearly describes the 18 steps that lead to the cabin from the parking area. The Log Cabin is in a Wilderness location and these steps are crafted out of logs from the property and are not "Pefectley Evan" The Ladder to the Loft is shown in the Property photos. The Bathroom door is a privacy door that is open above 5 feet. One would have to be "very purposely and inappropriately peering over the door" to breech a users privacy. The log cabin is a private, secluded wilderness experience. It is not a suburban residential home. If you are a prospective traveler who is looking for a real Colorado Log Cabin lodging experience in the Wilderness "Evergreens Log Cabin" is for you. If you are looking for cookie cutter lodging with defined "Master Bedroom" and the congestion of the city where you can drive right up to the front door the Log Cabin will not be for you. Contrary to this travelers erroneous statement guests are not "Required" to change the beds or Vacuum the floor. If you have questions or would like to discuss these topics please call, text, or E-mail us any time. Respectfully Michael
