This traditional Maine camp has provided many families and friends with a relaxing enjoyable experience for close to a decde. In 2012 it served as an Artists Retreat for 'The Maine Attraction' artist group. The artist used Eagleview as a base of operations. Several works were also painted on location. The “Cottage” has 4 bedrooms and offers total privacy with spectacular views. Large windows offer stunning views of Mount Desert Island. Sliding glass doors lead to a large deck, the backyard and ocean. The second floor has three bedrooms. Two bedrooms have their own private balcony, perfect for watching the sunrise. A full bath with tub and shower, and a laundry room, with washer and dryer, is also conveniently located on this floor. The third floor offers total privacy. Schoodic Scenic Byway: The Schoodic Scenic Byway travels through one of the last frontiers on the eastern seaboard (along Route 1 and 186 from Sullivan to Prospect Harbor). This region has many protected and private lands that are maintained as open space and agriculture to reveal an unspoiled and 'real' Maine. Pass through a working landscape of lobstering, clamming, blueberry barons and timberland.

Schoodic Peninsula Bike Tour: Loops take cyclists through the easternmost reaches of Acadia National Park at beautiful Schoodic Point, as well as through picturesque fishing villages and along a dramatic stretch of Maine’s rocky coast. Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at the point andenjoy spectacular views of Mount Desert Island and Frenchman Bay along the way.

The 29-mile loop begins at the Schoodic Area Chamber of Commercekiosk on US 1 opposite Young’s Market in West Gouldsboro. The13-mile loop begins in Winter Harbor.

Quiet, Serene, wonderful ocean inlet view

  • 5 of 5

Four of us wanted a quiet getaway near the Bar Harbor Area. We chose Eagle View Cottage because of the views and uniqueness of the cottage. It was about 1/2 an hour, 45 minutes from Acadia and Bar Harbor, which was perfect.

We loved everything about Eagle View Cottage. It was incredibly neat and clean and the kitchen was nicely stocked with pots, pans, silverware. The bedrooms were all comfortable, the bathrooms clean. We would absolutely stay here again. It is exactly as pictured, but the comfort and coziness was beyond expectations.

It was a pleasure arranging our stay with Tony - helpful, pleasant and quick to respond.

Great time

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was great for a small family. Bring a sleeping mask if you have one it gets very bright very early up there. The bugs were our main concern and they were really not an issue. Maine is so beautiful and well worth experiencing. The people were all really great also. We kayaked around hog island and we had the whole cove to ourselves. Very nice and private, close enough to Acadia and other sights. Great experience! Tony's planner had great information and he was a great host.

Just Awesome!

Owner's Response: Leah: Thank you for your wonderful review. Yes, the sun does come up early on Downeast Maine. Actually, Cadillac Mountain on MDI gets the first sunlight of the day and hearty souls sometime venture there to see the sun rise. Too early for me! Sunsets on Cadillac are also beautiful and I have done that. I’m glad you found the planner useful, many guest have. While some like to plan their own adventures, many are not familiar with the area and the planner help to save time. Thank again!

Lovely private cottage with a beautiful view

  • 4 of 5

We had such a fantastic time at Eagleview, the cottage was precisely as advertised. It was in the perfect location for us- close enough to Acadia and Bar Harbor, and especially convenient for the Schoodic peninsula (wonderful sunrise at blueberry hill)- but still out of the way enough to have a private, cozy spot to relax with an absolutely wonderful view. We had a kayak delivered and were able to take it out twice around the island, such a beautiful place. There were so many things to do and see that there could probably never be enough time to do them all. And even though there is no bad weather, only weather, it turned out perfect for us. A little overcast and rainy when we arrived but sunny and comfortable the rest of the stay which helped provide some vivid fall foliage. Overall we had a fantastic vacation with a nice, comfortable place to relax at and come home to that we would recommend to anyone.

Owner's Response: Another near perfect rating! Please remember check out is 11am. By abiding by the required checking out time our care taker will have enough time to prepare the property for the next party’s arrival at 3pm. Over the years we have found that when guests do a bulk of their laundry the day before departure it allows them to enjoy a stress free departure. After a relaxing week who wants to stress the day of departure? While all linens are supplied, many guests bring an extra set of sheets and towels to use the day before check out in order to cut down on time spent doing laundry the morning of their departure. Peak weeks fill fast and it is always a disappointment when we have to turn away interested renters. We want you to experience the pleasure Eagleview has provided our guests over the years. So remember to book your vacation early.

Perfect location for our family birthday adventure

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is so charming the upstairs top floor has an amazing view where we did in fact see and eagle!

The front door with it's huge wooden hinges is like entering a Hobbit house.

During our stay we visited Schooic point peninsula which is very close by. Also hiked at Petite manan wildlife refuge and went over to Bar harbor.

The location of the cottage could not be better and it is easy to get to close to the main road directions were perfect.

Thank you we enjoyed our week here!

Simply Amazing

  • 5 of 5

Not possible to find a better location. Amazing views. House is beautiful, well kept, and far enough from the hustle and bustle, yet close enough for easy day trips all over Maine.

Great way to visit "Down East"

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was wonderful, in a great location, scenic, and comfortable. The whole family and visitors enjoyed staying there. We immediately read the guest suggestions as well as former guest's comments. All were very helpful. The house was clean and well maintained. Having the caretaker close by was wonderful, not because we ever needed help, but because he was such an interesting, local guy.

We enjoyed the area greatly. Winter Harbor was a great starting point for exploring the Schoodic Pen. and the part of Acadia that was on the peninsula was outstanding. It was great for exploring, scenery, hiking, and picnicking. In two weeks we must have visited MDI at least 10 times and never got tired of it. Though it was crowded, it didn't take long to strategize a way to work around the crowds. We even traveled as far as Deer Isle. Everything we needed or wanted was within easy commute.

Tony provided excellent customer service. We have already recommended the cottage to friends. On the whole, our "Down East" experience was an unforgettable memory.
